OPERATION

4.1. Check the equipment rating and operation against the transformer rating. The transformer will supply intermittently used equipment up to the plate rating but if the equipment is used continuously then the transformer rating should be reduced see section 3.
4.2. It is normal for the transformer to get warm during use, particularly if being used continuously, so care should be taken to place only on surfaces that will not be damaged by the heat.
4.3. A temperature-sensitive cut-out switch is fitted to prevent overheating. If this switch trips, determine and rectify the cause of overheating and allow time for the transformer to cool before pressing the reset button. (Located on one of the sides adjacent to the output sockets).
4.4. The transformer should be plugged directly into a 230V mains socket and should not be supplied via an extension lead. Any necessary extension lead should be between the transformer and the tool/equipment. Extension leads are available from your Sealey stockist.
IMPORTANT: The transformer is not double insulated and the safety screen between primary (230V) and secondary (110V) windings is connected to the earth core of the power cable. For these reasons it is extremely important to confirm that the power socket to be used is reliably and permanently earthed.
4.5. Tool transformers can draw a very high initial current when switched on. If fuse failure occurs at switch-on check that the fuse is a 13 amp, anti- surge type. Any circuit breaker protecting the supply socket should have a suitable tripping characteristic.
X DO NOT exceed 1.5kV when flash testing.
4.6. A plug suitable for the transformer output is available from your Sealey stockist.
