IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

DANGER: TO REDUCE RISKS OF BURNS, ELECTRIC SHOCK, FIRE, AND PERSONAL INJURY, THIS PRODUCT MUST BE USED IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE FOLLOWING INSTRUCTIONS:

  1. READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS.
  2. DO NOT USE WHILE SLEEPING OR ON SOMEONE WHO IS SLEEPING.

  4. THIS PAD IS NOT TO BE USED ON OR BY AN INVALID, SLEEPING, HELPLESS OR UNCONSCIOUS PERSON, A PERSON WITH DIABETES, A PERSON WITH POOR BLOOD CIRCULATION OR INSENSITIVITY TO HEAT.
  5. THIS APPLIANCE IS NOT TO BE USED BY CHILDREN. CLOSE SUPERVISION IS NECESSARY WHEN ANY APPLIANCE IS USED NEAR CHILDREN. CHILDREN SHOULD NOT PLAY WITH THE APPLIANCE.
  6. DO NOT USE ON AREAS OF INSENSITIVE SKIN.
  7. BURNS CAN OCCUR REGARDLESS OF CONTROL SETTING, CHECK SKIN UNDER PAD FREQUENTLY.
  8. IF PROVIDED WITH A REMOVABLE COVER, NEVER USE PAD WITHOUT COVER IN PLACE.
  9. DO NOT USE IN AN OXYGEN ATMOSPHERE.
  10. DO NOT USE PINS OR OTHER METALLIC MEANS TO FASTEN THIS PAD IN PLACE.
  11. DO NOT SIT ON, AGAINST, OR CRUSH PAD – AVOID SHARP FOLDS. PLACE PAD ON TOP OF AND NOT UNDER THE PART OF BODY NEEDING HEAT.
  12. UNPLUG WHEN NOT IN USE. NEVER LEAVE APPLIANCE UNATTENDED, ESPECIALLY IF CHILDREN ARE PRESENT.
  13. NEVER PULL THIS PAD BY THE SUPPLY CORD. DO NOT USE THE CORD AS A HANDLE. DO NOT PINCH CORD.
  14. DO NOT TUCK IN, TRAP, FOLD, CROSS, PINCH OR WRAP CONTROL OR CORD WITH HEATING PAD DURING USE.
  15. CAREFULLY EXAMINE PAD, COVER, CORD AND CONTROLLER BEFORE EACH USE. DISCARD THE PAD IF ANY SIGN OF DETERIORATION, WEAR OR DAMAGE. DO NOT TAMPER WITH THIS PAD IN ANY WAY. THERE ARE NO USER SERVICEABLE PARTS. IF PAD DOES NOT FUNCTION SATISFACTORILY, SEE WARRANTY FOR CUSTOMER CONTACT INFORMATION.
  16. LOOP CORD LOOSELY WHEN STORING, TIGHT WRAPPING MAY DAMAGE CORD AND INTERNAL PARTS. ALLOW TO COOL BEFORE STORING AND DO NOT CREASE BY PLACING ITEMS ON TOP OF IT. STORE IN THE ORIGINAL PACKAGING, IN A COOL, DARK, DRY PLACE.
  17. USE THIS PAD ONLY AT RATED VOLTAGE, AS MARKED ON THE PRODUCT. DO NOT USE WITH GENERATORS, POWER CONVERTERS, OR INVERTERS.
  18. DO NOT USE THIS PAD WITH LINIMENT, SALVE OR OINTMENT PREPARATIONS. SKIN BURNS COULD RESULT.
  19. THIS APPLIANCE IS NOT INTENDED FOR MEDICAL USE IN HOSPITALS.
  20. MODELS WITH A MASSAGE FUNCTION: DO NOT MASSAGE ABDOMEN WHEN PAIN IS PRESENT, OR AREAS THAT ARE SWOLLEN, INFLAMED, COVERED WITH SKIN ERUPTIONS OR UNEXPLAINED PAIN. CONSULT A PHYSICIAN BEFORE USING ANY EQUIPMENT OF THIS TYPE.

HOUSEHOLD USE ONLY

NORTH AMERICAN MODELS WITH POLARIZED PLUGS:

 THIS APPLIANCE HAS A POLARIZED PLUG (ONE BLADE IS WIDER THAN THE OTHER). TO REDUCE THE RISK OF ELECTRIC SHOCK, THIS PLUG IS INTENDED TO FIT IN A POLARIZED OUTLET ONLY ONE WAY. IF THE PLUG DOES NOT FIT FULLY IN THE OUTLET, REVERSE THE PLUG. IF IT STILL DOES NOT FIT, CONTACT A QUALIFIED ELECTRICIAN TO INSTALL THE PROPER OUTLET. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO MODIFY THIS PLUG OR DEFEAT THIS SAFETY FEATURE IN ANY WAY.

HOW TO USE YOUR HEATING PAD
WARNING: NEVER USE THE HEATING PAD WITHOUT THE FABRIC COVER.

  1. Plug into any 120 volt AC electrical outlet.
  2. To turn the pad ON:
    • Button Style (Figure 1, Letter A): Press the Control Button until desired heat setting is reached
    • Slider Style (Figure 1, Letter B): Slide the controller to the desired heat and/or massage setting
    • Switch Style (Figure 1, Letter C): Press the switch to “ON” position
  3. Wait for the pad to heat up.
  4. To turn the pad OFF:
    • Button Style (Figure 1, Letter A): Scroll through the remaining heat settings by pressing the Control Button sequentially until all heat indicator lights are turned off
    • Slider Style (Figure 1, Letter B): Slide the controller setting to “OFF”
    • Switch Style (Figure 1, Letter C): Press the switch to “OFF” position
      CAUTION: Avoid sitting on or crushing pad. Avoid folding during use.

CONTROLLER FEATURES

FOR MODELS WITH AUTO-OFF FEATURE:
The Auto-Off feature is designed for convenience and to conserve energy by automatically turning off after 2 hours of continuous use. Restart the unit by powering On and selecting desired heat setting.
NOTE: After a power outage, the Auto-Off feature automatically resets the timer. *Some models may be 30 min or 1 hr.

FOR MODELS WITH XPRESSHEAT®:
Your Sunbeam® XpressHeat® heating pad features a unique fast-heat technology in which you will feel heat in 30 seconds – for faster pain relief!

USING MOIST HEAT THERAPY
For deep, penetrating pain relief, use moist heat therapy. When using moist heat therapy, you should protect furniture and clothing from becoming damp. Dampen either side of the removable cover with water by patting the surface with a wet sponge or cloth or use a spray bottle to apply a fine mist. Do not thoroughly soak pad.

DANGER: DO NOT IMMERSE PAD IN WATER OR PLACE UNDER RUNNING WATER TO DAMPEN SURFACE. FAILURE TO COMPLY MAY RESULT IN PERSONAL INJURY.
NOTICE: If your heating pad has a massage feature, do not use moist heat therapy to prevent damage to the massagers.

AFTER USE

FOR MODELS WITH COMPACT STORAGE FEATURE:

  1. If model has an integrated pocket and securing tab, place the controller in the pocket, roll up pad, and secure with the tab for neat storage.
  2. If model has elastic straps, place controller and power cord on pad, roll up pad, and secure it in place with the straps for neat storage
    AFTER USING

WASHING INSTRUCTIONS

CAUTION: DO NOT DRY CLEAN! DO NOT BLEACH! DO NOT USE WRINGER!

WASHING INSTRUCTION

  1. Disconnect pad from outlet.
  2. Remove cover from pad.
  3. Machine wash only the cover in cool water on gentle cycle, or hand wash. Use mild detergent.
  4. Hang to dry or machine dry on gentle, cool cycle.
  5. Do not wash heating pad. Wipe heating pad with a damp cloth only, as needed. Do not dampen the cord and connector. Hang to dry.

TROUBLESHOOTING:

Problem Solutions
  • No heat

  • Verify no physical damage to the cord, controller or pad.

  • Verify AC outlet is functional.

  • Plug the unit back into the AC outlet.

  • Restart the unit by powering On and selecting desired heat setting.

  • Make sure pad is not folded or bunched in any area.

  • Pad doesn’t get hot enough

  • Make sure pad is not folded or bunched up in any area.

  • Restart the unit by powering On and selecting desired heat setting.

  • Pad has a hot spot

  • Make sure pad is not folded or bunched up in any area.

  • Controller light starts flashing

| If the controller light starts flashing, follow these steps

  • Unplug unit from wall outlet.

  • Wait for 3 minutes.

  • Plug the unit back into the AC outlet.

  • Restart unit by powering On and selecting desired heat setting.

  • If the error continues, discontinue use. See Warranty information to contact Consumer Services.

  • Pad has no heat and controller ‘Auto-Off’ light is On or flashing

  • Auto-Off feature is set to turn the unit off after 2 hours of continuous use. Note: Some models may be 30 min or 1 hr.
  • If needed, restart the unit by powering On and selecting desired heat setting.

LIMITED WARRANTY

Sunbeam Products, Inc. (“Sunbeam”) warrants that this product will be free from defects in material and workmanship, when used in accordance with the instructions provided for a period of:

  • One (1) year from the date of initial retail purchase for model 1958
  • Two (2) years from the date of initial retail purchase for models with massage feature
  • Three (3) years from the date of initial retail purchase for model 2008
  • Five (5) years from the date of initial retail purchase for all other models with fabric cover

Sunbeam, at its option, will repair or replace this product or any component of the product found to be defective during the warranty period. Replacement will be made with a new or remanufactured product or component. If the product is no longer available, replacement may be made with a similar product of equal or greater value. This is your exclusive warranty. Do NOT attempt to repair or adjust any electrical or mechanical functions on this product. Doing so will void this warranty. This warranty is valid for the original retail purchaser from the date of initial retail purchase and is not transferable. Keep the original sales receipt. Proof of purchase is required to obtain warranty performance. Sunbeam dealers, service centers, or retail stores selling Sunbeam products do not have the right to alter, modify or any way change the terms and conditions of this warranty.
This warranty does not cover normal wear of parts or damage resulting from any of the following: negligent use or misuse of the product, use on improper voltage or current, use contrary to the operating instructions, disassembly, repair or alteration by anyone other than Sunbeam or an authorized Sunbeam service center. Further, the warranty does not cover: Acts of God, such as fire, flood, hurricanes and tornadoes.

What are the limits on Sunbeam’s Liability?
Sunbeam shall not be liable for any incidental or consequential damages caused by the breach of any express, implied or statutory warranty or condition. Except to the extent prohibited by applicable law, any implied warranty or condition of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose is limited in duration to the duration of the above warranty. Sunbeam disclaims all other warranties, conditions or representations, express, implied, statutory or otherwise. Sunbeam shall not be liable for any damages of any kind resulting from the purchase, use or misuse of, or inability to use the product including incidental, special, consequential or similar damages or loss of profits, or for any breach of contract, fundamental or otherwise, or for any claim brought against purchaser by any other party. Some provinces, states or jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages or limitations on how long an implied warranty lasts, so the above limitations or exclusion may not apply to you. This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other rights that vary from province to province, state to state or jurisdiction to jurisdiction.
