HSTLED SINGLE FIXTURE INSTRUCTIONS
Fixtures come with two removable end flanges that are attached to fixtures with 8-32 nuts (Figure 1). For Row Mount and Row Mount Pattern these end flanges can be removed and replaced with mounting flanges to attach fixture together in desired shape.
Note hinge side of the fixture should be facing away from the bed.
Step 1
Cut rectangle in the ceiling for single fixture following Table 1 and Figure 2
below.
Step 2
Ensure end flanges of fixture are properly secured to housing with nuts before
lifting into place. For ease of installation remove door by opening door
perpendicular to housing, unscrew nuts holding safety cable to housing, then
lift and remove from hinge. The fixture can be secured to plenum by two
methods, threaded rod or suspension wire.
Threaded Rod
Step 1
Remove the four thumb nuts that retain side covers (Figure 3).
Step 2
With side covers removed knock out the four 13/32” diameter knockouts at the
four corners of the housing (Figure 4).
Step 3
Threaded rod up to 3/8” diameter may be used to hang fixture. Secure threaded
rod to floor of fixture with a washer and nut on the inside and outside of the
fixture floor (Figure 5). Tighten nuts against each other. Repeat in all four
corners. Secure upper ends of threaded rods to building structure with
suitable attachment means. For spacing between knockouts see Table 2 and
Figure 6.
Step 4
With fixture secured to ceiling reinstall side covers and install door on
housing hinge. Attach the two safety cables and one ground wire from the door
to the housing before screwing door close.
Suspension Wire
Step 1
Knock out the eight (two in each corner) 0.25”x0.50” oblong knockouts. For
spacing between knockouts see Table 3 and Figure 7.
Step 2
Pass suitable sized wire through oblongs from the outside and return it though
the adjacent oblong from the inside. Wrap the end of the wire around the
supporting length to secure fixture to building support (Figure 8)
Care should be taken to avoid trapping an electrical wire in the suspension wire loop inside the fixture
Step 3
With fixture secured to ceiling reinstall side covers and install door on
housing hinge. Attach the two safety cables and one ground wire from the door
to the housing before screwing door close.
Swing Arms
This fixture comes with four Swing Arms that can be used to level fixture. To
bring the arms down screw clockwise from below using a flat head screw driver
(Figure 9). The swing arm can travel roughly 1.25” to accommodate various
ceiling support systems (Figure 10).
NOTE Swing Arms cannot be used with Plaster Frame Kit. Do not remove tape
from swing arm.
HSTLED ROW MOUNT INSTRUCTIONS
STEP 1
Cut rectangle in ceiling for single fixture following Table 4 and Figure 11
below.
Step 2
For the first fixture in the row open the housing and carefully remove the
reflector and door to allow for easier installation (Figure 3 Page 4). Remove
one end flange and replace it with a row mount bracket as seen in Figure
12.
Step 3
Carefully mount fixture to ceiling using either threaded rod or suspension
wire shown on Page 4 and 5.
Step 4
For the next fixture remove the door, reflector and both end flanges and
attach one row mount bracket (Figure 13)
Step 5
Carefully take the next fixture and mount it to the first fixture using 8-32
nuts (Figure 14). Repeat Step 3 for the second fixture.
The mounting bracket is not designed to support the weight of the fixture. Tie
wire or threaded rods MUST BE USED to support the weight of the
fixtures
Step 6
Repeat Steps 4 and 5 for additional fixtures until the last one in the row
then go to Step 7.
Step 7
For the last fixture in the row ensure only one end flange is installed
(Figure 15)
