Safety precautions and warnings

Before using the device, read the operation instructions attentively and keep it for the entire period of use. Use the device only for its needed purpose as directed in this manual. Improper use of the device may result in damage to the device, injuring the user or damaging the property.

  • This appliance is intended for domestic use only. The device is not intended for industrial or commercial use, or for use:
    • at kitchen areas for staff in shops, offices and other industrial premises;
    • in farmhouses;
    • by clients in hotels, motels, boarding houses and other accommodations.
  • Any other improper use for production purposes and which does not comply with the instructions for use release the manufacturer from liability and warranty.
  • Before plugging in the device, make sure that the voltage indicated on the device corresponds to the voltage of the power supply in the building.
  • Use the device indoors only.
  • Make sure that your home electricity supply corresponds to the voltage of current specified on the housing.
  • In order to avoid risk of fire do not use adapters while connecting the appliance to the outlet.
  • Do not plug or unplug the unit with wet hands. It may lead to electric shock or injuries.
  • Always hold by the plug, not by the cord while disconnecting.
  • Do not switch the appliance if it is empty.
  • Do not drop or incline the appliance.
  • Protect the device from falls and hits.
  • Use the thermos pot only for water boiling. Do not use to heat or boil other liquids.
  • Provide that water level is not below the «MIN» mark and not higher than the «FULL» mark.
  • Do not fill the Thermo pot by putting it under tapping water. Use special cup for it.
  • Always place the appliance on a flat, dry and stable surface.
  • The temperature in rooms where the appliance is used must be in the range from +5 °C to + 40 °C.
  • Always unplug the appliance when unattended and before assembling, disassembling or cleaning.
  • The appliance must not be left unattended when connected to power.
  • To avoid electric shock, do not use the device in rooms with high humidity.
  • Clean the device regularly.
  • Do not damage, excessively bend, stretch, twist the power cord. It can lead to damage.
  • During the operation of the appliance, the power cord must be unrolled to its full length.
  • Do not use the appliance near the walls and furniture. The steam that goes out may lead to deformation or other damage of the walls and furniture.
  • Do not use the device near heat sources and open flames.
  • When children or persons with disabilities are near pot, it is necessary to be especially careful.
  • This appliance is not intended for use by persons (as well as children) with reduced physical or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge, except of the presence of authorized supervisors or persons responsible for their safety, who provide the necessary instructions for use of the appliance.
  • This appliance may be used by children aged 8 and over if they are supervised or instructed in the safe use of the appliance and understand the possible dangers. The appliance may be used by persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities if they are supervised or instructed in the safe use of the appliance and understand the potential dangers.
  • Children should not play with the appliance.
  • Cleaning and maintenance is possible for children over 8 years of age under supervision.
  • The appliance and its cord must be kept out of the reach of children under 8 years of age.
  • For the children safety, do not leave plastic materials used for packaging unattended.
  • Provide that the power cord is not hanging over the table and make sure that it does not touch heated surfaces.
  • Do not open the lid, do not remove the lid and do not fill the thermo pot with water while boiling.
  • Do not touch the case of the appliance, the mains cord and the plug of the mains cord with wet hands.
  • Keep the power cord away from sharp edges and hot surfaces.
  • Do not rotate the unit while dispensing water.
  • Avoid water spilling or any liquid on the power cord and plug.
  • Do not make efforts to open the lid. Close the lid firmly.
  • Place the thermos pot so that from the wall or furniture to the thermos pot the distance will be not less than 20 cm, and the free space above the thermos pot will be not less than 30 cm.
  • If the appliance falls into water, unplug it immediately. In this case, do not put your hands in the water. Before further use, the appliance must be checked by a qualified specialist.
  • Keep your hands away from steam openings otherwise you can get burns. Do not block steam openings by foreign objects.
  • Do not touch hot surfaces of the thermal pot.
  • Be careful while carrying the Thermo pot, filled with boiling water. Do not touch the lid opening button.
  • Do not carry the appliance taking the lid opening button. The Thermo pot can only be carried by holding the handle.
  • Remove the lid to pour the rest of hot water. Be careful while pouring out hot water.
  • Technically, hot steam may leak when the lid is opened.
  • To avoid electric shock do not immerse the unit into water or other liquids.
  • Unplug the appliance from the mains when you do not use or before its cleaning. When unplugging the appliance, do not pull on the power cord but pull directly on the plug.
  • Do not wash the appliance in a dishwashing machine.
  • Before taking the appliance away for keeping, unplug it, pour out the thermo pot and let it cool down and dry out.
  • Do not use the appliance if the mains plug or power cord is damaged, if the appliance operates intermittently, or after the appliance has been dropped.
  • Check the power cord and the plug periodically. Do not use the thermo pot if there are damage in the power cord.
  • In case the power cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, customer service or similarly qualified personnel to avoid danger.
  • Do not repair the appliance by yourself. It may lead to a fire, electric shock or injuries. If there are some damages in the device apply to the authorized service center by the contact addresses indicated in the warranty card or on the website www.magio.ua.
  • To protect the environment, when the operating life of the oven came to the end, do not dispose the device with household waste, but take it to a designated collection point for recycling.
  • Store the appliance in a cool dry place out of the reach of children and people with disabilities.
  • The device should only be transported in its original packaging.

Before first use

After transportation or storing the device at a low temperature, keep it at room temperature for three hours at least.

  1. Check the integrity of the device. If it is damaged, do not use it.
  2. Remove all the stickers and packing materials that are obstructing the device operation.
  3. Wipe carefully the inside of the appliance with a wet cloth.

Operation

  1. Unpack the thermo pot.

  2. Before switching on make sure that your home electricity supply corresponds to the voltage of current specified on the housing.

  3. Open the lid (2), by pressing the front edge of upper lid lock button located on it. Lift up by pulling it forward until the top cover opens (figure below).MAGIO-MG-968-Thermo-Pot-fig-3
    The upper lid is removable. You can remove it by lifting it 45 °C and pressing the lid clamp located on the back of the cover. Pull it up under 45 °C .MAGIO-MG-968-Thermo-Pot-fig-4

  4. Fill the thermo pot with water, using special cup. Do not overfill, fill to the «FULL» mark (inside the case). Close the lid, and ensure it is locked by pressing firmly until it «clicks»

  5. Insert the power cord plug (15) into the power cord jack (14) on the case and the plug into the socket.

  6. After plugging in water starts boiling.

The control panel (5) will display the water temperature. If necessary, you can set the needed temperature by pressing the temperature sett button (page 22).

Keep warm function

The keep warm function will turn on automatically, accompanied by a «beep» sound after the water boils.MAGIO-MG-968-Thermo-Pot-

Attention! Press the re-boiling button (page 22) if water is not enough to boil automatically.

Work interruption function

Automatic interruption of work and disconnection from the network can happen in case if all water will boil away. The display will show “ ” mark accompanied by a «beep» sound.

The reasons of automatic interruption:

  • the appliance is plugged in but it is empty;
  • the water level is below the «MIN» mark during boiling;
  • all water has boiled away and it is needed to add more;
  • the lid is not locked;
  • hot water was added after plugging in the device.

Note
If the automatic interruption function happened, unplug the device and let it cool down. Then add water and turn it on again.

Re-boiling function
  1. Press the re-boiling button (page 22) one time. The reboiling indicator will light up.
  2. After the water has boiled keep warm indicator will light up.
  3. The re-boiling function will not work if water is not enough.
  4. Pressing the Re-boiling button immediately after the water has boiled will not work because the water temperature has already reached 100 °C.

Water dispensing

There are three types of water dispense:

  1. Hand pump dispenser.

    • On the upper lid, switch the hand pump lock (10) to the “unlock” position.
    • Place the cup to be filled under the water spout (11).
    • Then press down on the water pump lid (1) to pour water.
      Note
      The hand pump water dispenser does not require the appliance must be connected to the network.
  2. Automatic pump dispenser.

    • Press the «Unlock button» (page 22) one time. The unlock indicator will light up.
    • Place the cup under the water spout (11).
    • Press the «Dispense button» (page 22) to pour water.
  3. Cup trigger dispenser.

    • Press the «Unlock button» (page 22) one time. The unlock indicator will light up.
    • Place the cup under the water spout (11).
    • Holding the cup under the water spout (11), press it on the cup trigger dispenser (8) by a cup.

Attention!
If cup trigger dispenser will not be pressed within 10 seconds after pressing the unlock button, the device will automatically lock again. The cup trigger dispenser function will not work if the device is not connected to the network.

Temperature set function

Press the «Temperature set button» (page 22) to select the needed temperature to keep warm. Default keep warm function temperature is 85 ° C. After setting the temperature from the available range (98°C, 85°C, 60°C, 50°С, 40°С), the «Keep warm indicator» will light up immediately after boiling. If the temperature is below the selected degree mark, the device will automatically boil the water and the boiling indicator will light up.

Note
The temperature can be changed during keep warm mode. In this case, the thermo pot will automatically boil the water to the set temperature.

Timer function
  1. Press the «Timer button» (page 22) one time. The timer indicator will light up.
  2. One press of a «Timer button» is equal to 1 hour. For example, if you press the Timer button 6 times, it means that you have set the timer for 6 hours.
  3. To cancel the Timer function, press the «Temperature Set» button or the «Re-boiling» button.

Scale removal

Scale, appearing inside the Thermo pot, influences water taste and disturbs heat exchange between water and the heating element than can lead to overheating and malfunction.

  1. To remove scale, fill the thermo pot with water and vinegar dissolved in it in proportion 2:1.
  2. Boil water and leave the appliance for a night.
  3. In the morning pour out the water, fill the pot with water till max mark, boil it and pour out again.

You can use special substances for electric thermal pots to remove scale.

Cleaning and maintenance

  1. Unplug the appliance. Pour water and let the thermos pot to cool down.
  2. Wipe the case with a damp cloth. Use mild detergents to remove stains.
  3. Do not wash the thermos pot in the dishwasher.

Do not use flammable, aggressive and abrasive cleaners substances such as acids, solvents and gasoline, as well as detergents means. Do not clean with metal or other metal types of abrasive sponges and scrapers.

Storage

  1. Before taking the thermos pot for long-term storage, unplug it from the mains, allow the appliance to cool down and drain the water.
  2. Clean the thermos pot. Store the appliance in a cool, dry place, out of reach of children and people with disabilities. Make sure that there are no foreign objects in the appliance during its storage.
  3. While long-term storage, keep the thermo pot be in its original packaging.
