INTENDED USE

  • This appliance is intended to juice fruits and vegetables.

  • Only use the appliance as described in this manual.

  • This appliance is intended to be used in household and similar applications such as:
    – staff kitchen areas in shops, offices and other working environments;
    – farm houses;
    – by clients in hotels, motels and other residential type environments;
    – bed and breakfast type environments.

  • This appliance is intended for indoor use only.

  • This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety.

  • Any use of the appliance other than described in this manual is regarded as misuse and may cause injury, damage to the appliance and void the warranty.

IMPORTANT SAFETY PRECAUTIONS

General safety instructions

WARNING

  • Ensure you have fully read and understood the instructions in this user manual before you install or use the appliance. Keep this document for future reference.
  • Do not use the appliance if a part is damaged or defective. Replace a damaged or defective appliance immediately.
  • If the power cable is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, the service agent or similar qualified personnel in order to avoid a hazard.

Safety instructions regarding installation

WARNING

  • Do not drop the appliance and avoid bumping.

  • Place the appliance on a stable, flat, heat and moisture resistant surface.

  • Keep a minimum safety distance of 20 cm between the appliance and walls, curtains or other materials and objects and make sure that the air around the appliance can circulate freely.

  • Before using the appliance, check that the voltage stated on the type plate of your appliance matches your mains voltage. Do not operate the appliance with a multiway plug adapter.

  • Do not place the appliance in direct sunlight.

  • Do not use a timer or a separate remote-control system that switches on the device automatically.

  • Do not leave the power cable hanging over table edges to prevent the appliance from being pulled down. Make sure that neither the appliance nor the power cord or plug comes into contact with hot surfaces, such as hotplates or a radiator, or that they come into contact with the appliance itself.

  • Never place the appliance in such a way that it is at risk of falling into water or coming into contact with water resp. other liquids (e.g. in or near a sink).

  • Never reach for an appliance that has fallen into water or other liquids:
    – Always wear dry rubber gloves to unplug the appliance before taking it out of the water.
    – Do not start using the appliance again before having it checked for functionality and safety by Solis or a service center authorized by Solis.

  • Do not place the appliance directly under a power outlet.

  • Switch off and unplug the appliance before moving the appliance.

  • Hold the appliance by the base when lifting or moving the appliance.

  • Fully unwind the power cable before use.

Safety instructions regarding use

WARNING

  • Children must be supervised to ensure that they not play with the appliance.
  • Do not operate the appliance with wet hands.
  • Only use the appliance with the provided accessories or accessories recommended by Solis. Incorrect accessories or misuse can lead to damage to the appliance.
  • Do not move the appliance when in use.
  • Do not switch on the appliance when it is empty.
  • Unplug the appliance when it is not in use.
  • Correctly assemble the appliance before connecting it to a power outlet.
  • Only use the tamper to push food down the funnel. Do not reach into the funnel with your hands or with other items for any reason.
  • Be careful when handling the sieve. Do not touch the grating blades. The grating blades are extremely sharp.
  • Do not use the appliance for more than 2 minutes at a time to prevent overheating. Take a break of 30 seconds between uses.
  • Do not cover the air vents when the appliance is in use.

Safety instructions regarding maintenance

WARNING

  • Switch off and unplug the appliance before service and when replacing parts.
  • Empty the pulp container and the juice jug before moving the appliance.
  • Let the appliance cool down before cleaning.
  • Never immerse the appliance in water or place it in a dishwasher.
  • Do not use abrasive chemical cleaning agents such as ammonia, acid or acetone when cleaning the appliance. This can damage the appliance.

BEFORE FIRST USE

  1. Remove all packaging, stickers and labels.

  2. Disassemble the appliance (see chapter Disassembling the appliance).

  3. Rinse the following parts with hot water:
    – Tamper 1
    – Cover 3
    – Sieve 4
    – Juice bowl 5
    – Pulp container 6
    – Juice jug 12
    **** Use the supplied cleaning brush to clean the sieve. Be careful with the grinding blades in the sieve.

  4. Clean the appliance with a damp cloth.

  5. Dry all parts carefully.

  6. Assemble the appliance (see chapter Assembling the appliance).

ASSEMBLING THE APPLIANCE

  1. Place the motor unit 7 on a flat, stable, and heat and moisture resistant surface.

  2. Flip the clasp 11 to the side with the spout recess.

  3. Place the juice bowl 5 on the motor unit 7. Make sure to place the spout 10 in the spout recess.

  4. Place the sieve 4 in the juice bowl 5. Press down firmly on the edge of the sieve 4 until it clicks in place.
    Only touch the sieve by the raised edge.

  5. Place the cover 3 on the juice bowl with the cover for the pulp container opposite from the spout (image B).

  6. Pull up the clasp w up over the cover until it clicks into place.

  7. Place the pulp container 6 under the cover. Make sure the pulp container 6 is placed against the motor unit 7.
    **** Line the pulp container with a thin plastic bag to keep it clean.

  8. Turn the spout 10 clockwise to unlock it.

  9. Place the juice jug 12 with the inserted foam absorber under the spout 10. Make sure the juice jug 12 is placed against the motor unit 7.

OPERATION

  1. Plug the power cable into a power outlet.
  2. Turn the control knob 9 to ON to switch on the appliance. The display switches on and shows the four speed settings.
  3. Turn the control knob 9 to adjust the speed.
    HARD VEG| for hard vegetables (fennel, carrots etc.)
    ---|---
    HARD FRUIT| for hard fruits (apples, pears etc.)
    SOFT VEG| for soft vegetables (cucumbers, tomatoes etc.)
    SOFT FRUIT| For soft fruits (peaches, grapes etc.)

Remove hard skins, stones and pips from the vegetables/fruits before juicing.
Remove large leaves and stalks from the vegetables/fruits before juicing.
Do not put very soft fruits, such as bananas or figs, into the juicer. The pulp may jam up the appliance and cause motor damage.
Do not put frozen vegetables/fruits into the appliance.

  1. Place the vegetables/fruits into the funnel 2.

  2. Slowly push the vegetables/fruits down with the tamper 1.
    Push the tamper down slowly and gently. Using too much force does not speed up the process and may damage the appliance.
    Only use the tamper to push food down the funnel. Do not reach into the funnel with your hands or with other items for any reason.

  3. Repeat the process if desired.

  4. Turn the control knob 9 to OFF to switch off the appliance.

  5. Turn the spout 10 counter-clockwise to lock it and prevent spillage.

  6.  Unplug the appliance.

  7. Let the appliance cool down.
    DISASSEMBLING THE APPLIANCE

  8. Pull the pulp container 6 out of the appliance.

  9. Remove the juice jug 12.

  10. Open the clasp 11.

  11. Remove the tamper 1 from the cover 3.

  12. Remove the cover 3.

  13. Remove the juice bowl 5 from the appliance.

  14. Turn the juice bowl 5 upside down to remove the sieve 4.

CLEANING AND CARE

  1. Rinse the following parts with hot water and mild soap:
    – Tamper 1
    – Cover 3
    – Sieve 4
    – Juice bowl 5
    – Pulp container 6
    – Juice jug 12
    Use the supplied cleaning brush to clean the sieve. Be careful with the grating blades in the sieve.
    Do not put any part of the appliance in a dishwasher.

  2. Dry all parts carefully.

  3. Clean the appliance with a damp cloth.

  4. Assemble the appliance (see chapter Assembling the appliance).

  5. Store the appliance in the original packaging in a dry and enclosed space.
    ****Place the juice jug in the pulp container to save space.
