Safety Instructions

Type Volt Detector EX 12-1000 V
Identification **** II3G Ex ic op is IIC T4 Gc
Certificate No. EPS 19 ATEX 1 223 X
Standards EN IEC 60079-0:2018

EN 60079-11:2012
EN 60079-28:2015

Repairs are not permitted!
The following conditions must be observed for use in potentially explosive atmospheres:

  • Before use in potentially explosive atmospheres, check the function and integrity of the housing and whether the correct batteries have been inserted.
  • Operation only on insulated electrical systems / cable
  • Maximum rated voltage U = 400 V AC
  • Operation only with batteries PAIRDEER Type R03 (AAA)
  • Replace batteries only if there is no explosive atmosphere

VoltDetector EX 12-1000 V
This contactless voltage tester is used to test alternating electric fields.
It can detect voltages in insulated cables, e.g. spot cable breaks.

AC > 50 V
DC > 120 V

Above these voltage limits: life-threatening electric shock if touched.

  • The warranty is voided in the event of injury or damage to property caused due to non-compliance with these operating instructions. The manufacturer accepts no  liability for consequential damage.
  • Operational safety is no longer guaranteed if the voltage tester has been modified in any way. Do not disassemble.
  • Test the device on a known voltage source before and after you use it.
  • Certified as per the ATEX standard.

Proper use

Voltage: 12 – 1000 V AC
Frequency: 40- 500 Hz
  • Only trained technical staff may use the voltage tester.
  • The voltage tester must not be used to verify that there is no live current.
  • You may only use a two-pole voltage tester as per EN61243-3 to verify that there is no live current.
  • You must pass on the operating instructions as well if you give voltage tester to a third party.
