Installation

  1. If you have a Windows computer with Internet access, connect the Built-in USB-C Host Cable on the Multiport Adapter to a USB-C port on the host computer. The computer will automatically detect the device and install all the required drivers.
    If you’re running a non-Windows operating system or the drivers do not automatically install, disconnect the device from your computer, then:
    a. Navigate to www.StarTech.com/DKT30CHPD and click the Drivers/Downloads tab.
    b. Under Driver(s), download the Driver Package for your operating system, and follow the steps outlined in the Installation guide, that’s included in the Driver Package.

  2. When connecting USB peripheral devices, connect a USB-A cable from the USB peripheral devices to the USB-A Data Ports on the Multiport Adapter.
    Note: The USB port will output whatever bus power is available, up to 4.5W.

  3. When connecting a display device, connect an HDMI cable from an HDMI enabled display device, to the HDMI Output Port on the Multiport Adapter.

  4. When connecting to a wired LAN, connect a CAT 5e/CAT 6 cable from your local area network (e.g. Router, Switch, Modem, etc.) to the Gb Ethernet Port on the Multiport Adapter.

  5. To add USB-C Power Delivery, connect a USB-C power adapter (up to 60W) from an AC outlet to the USB-C 60W Power Delivery Port on the Multiport Adapter, to charge the laptop that’s connected to Built-in USB-C Host Cable.
