TUB DRAIN REMOVAL TOOL
This tool turns a tough, time-consuming task into a Quick and Easy Job!
- Removes old or rusty drains – even drains with missing crossbars!
- Fits 1-3/8” and 1-1/2” tub drains

EXTRACT-a-DRAIN
Expands to fit any 1-3/8” or 1-1/2” Tub Drain!
INSTRUCTIONS FOR REMOVING OLD DRAINS
- With jaws fully closed, insert into tub drain. For 1-3/8” drains, only the step down on the shoes will fit. For 1-1/l’ drains, insert the larger diameter.
- If crossbars in the bottom of the drain are missing, hold the tool in place with one hand while pushing flat washer downward with other hand to expand the jaws against the inside wall of the tub drain.
- Once snug, begin turning the hex nut slowly counterclockwise (reverse-thread) with a wrench. Continue turning until either the drain breaks free or the nut stops. If the nut stops, place a wend on the flat surfaces of the drive saw and turn counterflood<wise until the drain breaks free.
- Once drain is removed from tub, tap swiftly and firmly on top of the drive saw to release the tool from the drain body. Turning the hex nut clockwise will also relieve the pressure.
- Return to normal position by pushing the jaws and flat washer up the shaft of the drive screw.
- Insert Extract-a-Drain into any 1-3/8” or 1-1/2” tub drain.
- Expand the jaws against the inside of the walls of the tub drain until snug.
- Using a wrench, slowly turn the hex nut counterclockwise (reverse thread) until the nut breaks free.
Once drain is removed from tub, tap swiftly and firmly on top of the drive screw to release tool the from drain.
