Application Information

Preparation
All surfaces must be clean, dry and free from dust, grease and loose materials. Non-porous surfaces should be cleaned with a solvent and a clean, dry cloth. Remove all previous coatings such as paints and varnishes and ensure all previous sealant is removed thoroughly before starting. Prime surface if necessary Ensure a test area is carried out prior to full application to ensure compatibility with the surface to be treated.

Application
Cut the top of the screw thread off the cartridge and screw on the nozzle. Cut nozzle to correct diameter for joint size. Use a mastic gun to apply the sealant into the joint, ensuring good contact with surfaces. For deep joints, use a backing rod to ensure good joint formation. Curing occurs through reaction with water vapour in the air and visible light. In bathrooms without natural light, curing can be aided by leaving on the lights for 24 – 48 hours after application. The curing time may be extended at lower temperatures, lower humidity, increased joint thickness and with lack of ventilation.

Dryzone® Anti-Mould Silicone Sealant is not suitable for natural stones such as marble, granite or quartzite as it can cause staining. It is not suitable for use in aquariums, swimming pools or food contact areas
