What You Should Know Before Using
- The transmitter (push button) supplied with this kit comes paired with the receiver from the factory, set to the default ringtone “Ding-Dong”. If you are only using the push button included with this kit and are okay with the “Ding-Dong” ringtone, then there is no programming/pairing required.
- IF NOT, please refer to the “Quick Start” section to pair the transmitter with the receiver and set your favourite ringtone(s).
- It is not advisable to mount the transmitter onto metal surfaces as it will diminish or block RF signals between the transmitter and the receiver. However, if this is the only option then we recommend that you use the double-sided tape provided for mounting the push button.
- The operating range will decrease if the battery in the transmitter is in low power status.
- It is not advisable to mount the transmitter in the outdoors directly without any shelter which could accelerate the aging of plastic materials.
Quick Start
- Volume Control Button Location: Press the Volume Control button on the receiver. Press the button to toggle between High and Low volume and mute. *The volume level setting does not affect the strobe light.
- Set Ringtone Using the Music Change Button: Press the Music Change button to choose your favourite ringtone. Stop pressing the button once you hear the ringtone you want to use.
- Pairing a transmitter to the receiver:
- Select the ringtone you want to associate with the transmitter.
- Hold and press the Volume Control button for 5 until a “Ding-Dong” sound is heard and the LED strobe starts flashing. The receiver is now in pairing mode.
- Push the centre push on the push button (or another transmitter) to send a signal to the receiver.
Remarks:
- Pairing mode will timeout automatically after pairing is completed.
- Pairing mode will last for 5 seconds only.
Two or more transmitters pairing:
Only one transmitter can be programmed at a time. For additional transmitters,
please follow the pairing steps (1)-(3) once again to pair the transmitters
one by one. It is common practice to choose a different ringtone for each
transmitter so you can distinguish which transmitter is being triggered.
Factory Reset:
Hold the Music Change button for approximately 5 seconds. You will hear a
short ‘Ding Dong’ ringtone and a quick flash of the LED strobe light. This
indicates the receiver has reset to factory settings which is no transmitter
paired and the receiver set to the “Ding- Dong” sound.
Changing the Ringtone:
Refer to Step 3 in the “Quick Start” section of this manual.
Product Usage Instructions
Transmitter Installation
Method 1: Double-sided adhesive tape
- Clean the flat area for installation.
- Apply double-sided adhesive tape to the transmitter.
- Stick the transmitter on the wall and hold in place for 10 seconds.
Method 2: Screw/Anchors
- Separate the case halves and mark drilling spots on the wall.
- Drill holes and insert wall anchors if needed.
- Secure the back half of the push button with screws.
- Snap the top half of the push button cover onto the lower half.
Factory Reset
To perform a factory reset, hold the Music Change button for about 5 seconds until you hear a ‘Ding Dong’ ringtone and see a quick flash of the LED strobe light. This will reset the receiver to factory settings.
Changing the Ringtone
Refer to Step 3 in the Quick Start section of the manual for instructions on changing the ringtone.
WC180-SS Receiver & Transmitter Installation
Important: Test the range before mounting the push button (or other
compatible sensor). The sensor will be referred to as a “transmitter” in this
document. The options below are for a push button. If using a different
transmitter type, consult that manual.
Transmitter Installation Method 1 : Double-sided adhesive tape. (Easiest install method)
- After ensuring the right mounting position, please clean the flat area where you intend to install the transmitter.
- Tear off one side of the double-sided adhesive tape and stick it to the underside of the transmitter; tear off the other side and place the transmitter on the wall. Hold in place for 10 seconds.
Transmitter Installation Method 2 : Screw/Anchors Please prepare an electric drill, Phillips screwdriver and a slotted screwdriver before installation.
- Use the small screwdriver to separate the top half of the case from the lower half of the case.
- Using the back half of the case as a template, make two marks on the wall where the pre-drilled holes are located.
- Drill two holes on the marked places, then insert the wall anchors (if needed).
- Use the supplied screws to secure the back half of the push button to the wall.
- Snap top half of the push-button cover to the lower half.
Troubleshooting
- The receiver doesn’t sound
- Check the doorbell button battery, and replace it if necessary.
- The receiver is not securely set into the outlet.
- The receiver could be out of range of the doorbell button.
- The receiver may not have paired with the doorbell button.
- Ensure the volume is not muted (press the volume button).
- Operating range is reduced
- Metal structures can reduce the range of the product. Avoid mounting the push or chime on or near metal structures.
- Other equipment can cause radio interference that affects your doorbell.
- Walls and ceilings will reduce the range.
- Weak batteries will reduce range. Replace every 12–18 months.
