CAUTION:
Please read this guide carefully before installation and use. Keep these instructions and provide all users with instruction on how to use it. Failure to observe these instructions can lead to injury!
Use cases and application
To be applied by adults only!
We recommend the product for fireplaces, as a room divider or barrier. The product may only be used for its intended purpose. Any modification to the product is prohibited. The product is not a child safety gate within the meaning of Regulation EN 1930:2011 and not a playpen within the meaning of Regulation EN 12227:2010.
The product is not a substitute for supervision. Always supervise children! Keep small parts and the packaging material away from children: Danger of suffocation!

  • Do not place chairs or similar near the barrier!
  • Make sure that the walls, door frames or stair posts on which you mount the barrier are stable! Ensure adequate mounting, load-bearing capacity and statics! Accompanying fittings only suitable for concrete and calcareous sandstone. For other wall or material types, suitable fittings must be selected.
  • We recommend a minimum distance of 100 cm from fireplaces.
  • Do not use the grille to block off windows!
  • Do not use the grille for children over 24 months of age, as they could climb over the bars!

Installation

Check the scope of delivery (Fig. 1), cut the cable tie on the grille (A) (Fig. 2). Unfold the grille. Make sure that the hinges point inwards (Fig. 3). Mark the place where you want to mount the grille using the wall brackets (D). Fix the wall brackets to the wall with the screws (C) and plugs (B) (Fig. 5). Place the grille segments on the wall brackets and tighten the fasteners (Fig. 4).
Operation
To open the door, press and hold the button (1) and pull the handle (2) to the side (Fig. 6). Then lift the door and swing it to the side. When you close the door, make sure that the handle audibly engages.
Clean the grille with a damp cloth. Check the grille regularly for damage. Only use original spare parts.
Disposal
At the end of its service life, dispose of the product in accordance with the applicable legal requirements. Please contact the local authority responsible for disposal if you have any queries. Dispose of the packaging according to type. Separate the cardboard, foil and plastic elements for recycling.
Warranty
ABUS products are designed, manufactured and tested in accordance with applicable regulations with great care. The warranty exclusively covers faults that are caused by material or manufacturing defects.
If a material or manufacturing defect can be proven, the product will be repaired or replaced at the discretion of the warrantor. In such cases, the warranty ends with the termination of the original warranty period. Any further claims are expressly excluded.
ABUS assumes no liability for defects or damage that has been caused by external influences (e.g. transport, external forces), improper use, normal wear and tear or non-compliance with this operating and installation instructions document. If a warranty claim is asserted, the product must be returned with the original receipt with date of purchase and a brief written description of the fault.
