TRIXIE Reptile Rain Sprinkler System, With Timer

Reptile Rain with Timer

The sprinkler system consists of:

  • Pump (105 ml/min.) and water tank (800 ml)
  • Power supply unit (Input: 100-240 V, 50/60 Hz/Output: 1A)
  • Water hose (180 cm)
  • Water hose, transparent, with filter
  • End cap
  • 2 nozzles with suction cups
  • 1 suction cup for hose attachment
  • 2 fasteners for pump and water tank

The use of demineralized water is strongly recommended.

Reptile Rain is ideal for humidifying terrariums and for watering plants. Especially tropical, rainforest-dwelling reptiles and amphibians need constant high humidity to stay healthy. Subtropical, steppe-dwelling reptiles also require increased humidity in the morning hours. The intervals and watering duration of Reptile Rain can be adjusted.
We recommend the use of regulation and control technology (e.g. TRIXIE thermo/hygrostat or timer) to ensure optimal operation.

Accessories:

  • Pump: The included pump provides a consistent pumping action. If there is residual air in the system, there may be reduced pumping performance at the beginning of the process.
  • Nozzles: The nozzles included can be rotated and swivelled. They allow for optimal watering of the terrarium or plant system.
  • Fastening elements: The mounting elements included allow attachment to a glass or wooden terrarium.
  • Hose: The hose must be cut to the correct lengths as needed. Make sure that the cuts are straight. Place all parts in the correct location before cutting.
  • Water Filter: The water filter included prevents dirt particles from clogging the pump. However, ensure that pre-filtering takes place when water is taken directly from the terrarium.

Start of Operation and Set-up

Installation location:
The power supply unit must be placed so that it cannot get wet. The location of the pump should also be chosen so that it cannot get wet. Please place the device outside the terrarium.

Connection of the pump to the hose:
The incoming connection of the pump to the water tank is made with the transparent hose. Connect the transparent suction tube to the suction nozzle at the bottom of the main motor.

Connecting the nozzles to the hose:
Connect the end cap, the nozzles and the black hose in the order described.
The hose must be cut according to the desired installation .
Connect the other end of the hose to the water outlet of the pump.
Tip: First attach the nozzles in the desired positions and then cut the appropriate lengths of hose. Make sure the cuts are straight when you o this.

Installing the nozzles:
Inside the terrarium, run the black hose from nozzle to nozzle. The last nozzle is closed with the end cap. There is a click when the hose sits firmly in the nozzle.’
To release it, the ends of the nozzle must be pushed down. When installing, place the suction cups on the smooth glass and press firmly to ensure a tight fit of the nozzles.
Installing the nozzles

When installing, make sure that the hose is not kinked or compressed.
Furthermore, make sure that the hose does not run too close to possible heat sources in the terrarium. This can lead to deformations or fire hazards. After connecting, align the spray nozzles in the desired directions. Take special care that no electrical devices (e.g . lamps, sockets) are sprayed. When using a nozzle for spraying, make sure that the nozzle of the main motor is firmly tightened clockwise.
Before the first use, please pull out the rubber cap on the outlet.

Water tank:
Fill the water tank with clean water, e.g. filtered or distilled water, after attaching the device (min. 298 ml, max. 304 ml). Please turn off the power before refilling water.
After assembling, connect the power adapter to the system and connect the adapter to the power supply. It is also possible to operate the Reptile Rain with 3 AA batteries. With battery operation, mobile use is also possible.

LED light:
The LED light only lights up during the spraying process. During the spraying process, the LED light can also be switched on or off with the LIGHT switch.
Use the mount for glass (A) or wooden terrariums (B) depending on the type of terrarium.

Hints for the operation of the system

To avoid too much watering, the watering time should be adjusted to the terrarium. The intervals should also be chosen to avoid over wetting.

If the pump does not draw water from the tank during the first startup, the negative pressure required for the start can be generated by sucking with the mouth on the outlet pipe. Pressing the ON/OFF button for 3 seconds will immediately spray for 15 seconds regardless of the intervals. LIGHT turns the light on and off. To set the spray cycle, press CYCLE and select the desired interval (1-12 hours) by pressing the CYCLE button again. The lamp on the left will show the selected interval. To set the spray duration, select DURATION until the selected spray duration (15-60 sec.) lights up on right.
When an interval starts, the lamp lights up automatically.

Safety Instructions

  • Read the operating instructions before operating the unit.

  • Never connect or disconnect the power plug with wet or damp hands.

  • The pump is not suitable for continuous operation (max. 10 minutes
    continuous operation).

  • Do not make any changes or manipulations to the device.

  • Repairs may only be carried out by qualified persons (electricians).

  • Clean the device only with a slightly damp cloth.

  • Operation is only permitted with the included power supply unit.

  • Before operation, completely unwrap the power supply unit and power cable and check for damage and moisture.

  • If the components are damaged, operation is not permitted or must be stopped immediately.

  • The device may only be operated at ambient temperatures between
    O °C and 40 °C.

Important notes

  • To protect against calcification damage, the device may only be operated with demineralized or distilled water.
  • Make sure that there is always sufficient water in the container. Running without water in the tank can damage the pump.
  • The water-bearing elements of the system must not be placed on surfaces  sensitive to moisture, as condensation can occur due to the design, or leaks can occur due to temperature fluctuations and the resulting material expansion/shrinkage. Therefore the system must be checked for leaks at regular intervals (at least weekly). Liability for damage resulting from improper installation by the user is excluded.

Technical data:

Operating voltage: Input: 100-240 VAC 50/60Hz,
Output: DC5V1A
Current DC 5V
Pump capacity: max. 105ml/min
Protection class II
For indoor use.
Electronic waste according to Directive 2012/19/EU on waste for
electrical and electronic equipment.

Troubleshooting

Low spray volume: Check if the filter is dirty or blocked.
No water from the noules: Check if the noules are dirty or blocked.
No water is pumped: Disconnect the hose from the pump and turn on the power until water is pumped from the water outlet. Then push the hose back in. If this does not help and the problem cannot be corrected even after replacing filter and nozzles, the product should be sent back to the dealer or to qualified personnel for service.
