TRIXIE 24450 Drinking Fountain Vital Falls
Instructions for Use
Please read the following instructions carefully before using the device and keep them for further reference. The drinking fountain Vital Falls is a fountain of freshness for your pet. Many cats and dogs prefer to drink flowing water. In contrast to the stagnant water in a bowl, it resembles natural sources of water such as brooks and ponds. Some pets completely avoid a simple water bowl and do not drink sufficient water because of that. In this case, Vital Falls is the ideal solution. It provides flowing water and encourages the pet to drink. The bubbling enriches the water with oxygen and cools it naturally. A filter additionally cleans the water.
First use:
- Connect the parts of the pump (pump, auto-stop, filter) to the connector piece as shown in image 1–4.
- Place the pump into the centre of the ceramic bowl with the with the water outlet at the top.
- Now place the lid on the bowl and press the silicone piece of the lid over the pump’s connector piece (the pump needs to exactly in the centre of the bowl for this).
- Ensure that the cable runs out of the fountain through the duct intended for this.
- Connect the plug to a mains socket to start the drinking fountain or connect to an energy source with the USB cable.
Please note:
- Never let the pump run without water or with a water level that is too low.
- Unplug the device before doing any maintenance.
- Do not touch any moving parts.
- Please do not use the device outdoors.
- Do not pull on the cord to unplug the device. Instead, pull on the plug.
- Do not use Vital Falls if the power cable or the plug are damaged, when it has malfunctioned, was dropped or damaged in any other way.
- Make sure that the power plug does not get wet and is not plugged in when wet. It is recommended to use a socket that is positioned higher than the drinking fountain.
- Please note that this device should not be disposed of with the household waste. Take it to a disposal facility that corresponds to the device category.
- The pump included (#24450-30) and active carbon filter (#24451) as well as the connector pieces (#24450-40) are available separately as replacement parts.
Acquainting your pet with the fountain:
To acquaint easily scared pets with Vital Falls, place e.g. some treats on the rim of the fountain. That way, your pet connects the fountain Vital Falls with a positive experience.
Cleaning:
If Vital Falls is used by one pet, the water should be changed at least every two days. Filter and pump should be cleaned once a week (depending how often the device is used). In shorter time spans if the device is used by several animals. The pump is easy to remove for cleaning, and the plastic parts and the filter are equally easy to clean. The fountain itself is made of ceramic and therefore dishwasher safe. For hard water, it is recommended not to use tap water, but still mineral water instead. If you do use hard tap water, the pump needs to be cleaned more often to prevent calcifying. Otherwise it could become necessary to to treat the pump with a decalcifier from time to time.
