Polygon Water Fountain
Instruction Manual
Please read the following information carefully before using the device and
keep it for further use.
The drinking fountain Polygon is a freshness fountain for your pet. Many cats
and dogs prefer flowing water. In contrast to stagnant water in a bowl, it
resembles natural water sources such as brooks and ponds. Some pets even avoid
a simple water bowl completely, and that way do not take in enough water.
In this case, Polygon is the ideal solution. It provides flowing water and
encourages your pet to drink. The bubbling enriches the water with oxygen and
cools it naturally. The filter provides additional cleaning.
Setting up the device:
- Guide the main cable of the pump through the cable duct to the outside of the bowl.
- Now connect it to the adaptor.
- Place the pump in the rectangular opening at the bottom of the bowl.
- Insert the connector hose into the pump.
- Place the filter that protects the pump into the outlet on the inside of the bowl.
- Next, fill the container with a sufficient amount of water (minimum 2.5 l). Do not let the pump run without water. If you can hear the pump sucking in air or if it is louder than usual, the water level is too low. Immediately fill in more water.
- Next, place the rubber connector in the lid and place the lid in the container. Now the device can be plugged in.
- You can adjust the force of the water jet by regulating the pump. To do that, move the slider on the pump.
Please note:
- Never leave the pump to run without water or with a water level that is too low.
- Always unplug the device before any maintenance works.
- Do not touch any moving parts.
- Please do not use the device outside.
- Do not pull on the cable to unplug the device, but rather take hold of the plug.
- Do not use the device if the power cable or plug is damaged, after the device has malfunctioned or has been dropped or damaged in any other way.
- Ensure that the plug does not get wet and is not plugged in when wet. As a precaution, use a socket that is positioned higher than the drinking fountain.
- Please note that this device should not be disposed of with household waste. Hand it in at a waste disposal facility for this type of device.
- The pump included and the adaptor (#24442-30), the filter (#24443), and the connectors (#24442-40) are available separately as replacement parts.
Cleaning
If the Polygon is used by only one pet, the water should be changed every two
days. Depending on how frequently the device is used, the filter and pump
should be cleaned once a week., but more frequently if the device is used by
several pets.
Simply remove the pump with its two suction cups, the plastic parts, and the
filter to clean them.
The fountain is made of melamine making it dishwasher safe.
In the case of hard water, it is recommended to use still mineral water
instead of tap water. If you still decided to use tap water, the pump needs to
be cleaned more often to prevent calcification. Otherwise the pump needs to be
treated with a descaling agent.
Familiarization
To get very jumpy pets used to the Polygon, distribute a few treats on the rim of the drinking fountain. That way, your pet connects the automatic water dispenser to a positive experience.
