Where do you fit it?
For maximum protection, you are advised to fit several smoke detectors. Preferably fit the first detector in the center of the house, including the lounge, main access points, and bedrooms, followed by the attic and the cellar. To connect the detectors to your Somfy Protect system, ensure that they are fitted within the range of your Link or Somfy One/One+.
Locations to avoid: do not fit your smoke detector in the kitchen, bathroom, garage, or near any equipment that could create an airflow (heaters, windows, air conditioning systems, etc.).
You are advised to fit the detector on the ceiling. Ensure that the chosen location is at least 30 cm from the wall. In the case of a sloping ceiling, fit the detector no more than 50 cm below the highest point.
How do you fit the detector?
Fit the batteries in the battery compartment as shown.
Position the mounting plate in the final location (instructions on pages 4-5) and mark the holes. Drill the holes and insert the plugs provided.
Fix the plate to the ceiling using the screws provided.
Then fix the detector to the plate by turning it until it locks in place.
To connect the detector to your Link or Somfy One/One+, sign into your account using the Somfy Protect app.
Test and disarm your Smoke Detector
You should test the smoke detector every month to ensure that it is properly installed and working correctly. You can carry out the test directly on the detector by pressing the central button for three seconds. Note that the alarm will sound for eight seconds. If the alarm does not sound, either the battery is defective or there is another fault (see Troubleshooting on pages 12-13). Do not use a flame due to the risk of damaging the detector. Tip: do not forget to carry out the test by setting up a monthly reminder on the Somfy Protect app.
How do you switch the alarm off? Either directly on the detector by holding down the central button for one second or by using the app (make sure that you are connected to the same home Wi-Fi as your Somfy Protect security system). The smoke detector will be disabled for 10 minutes, during which time the alarm will not sound, even if smoke is detected.
Connect your smoke detectors together
For maximum safety, you can connect your smoke detectors together. If smoke is detected, the alarm spreads to all the other smoke detectors in the house. Note: a Somfy Protect security system is required to connect several smoke detectors together. The Somfy Protect app is used to connect smoke detectors.
Maintenance
Once a year, remove the smoke detector from its mounting plate and clean the smoke detection slots with a vacuum cleaner or soft brush. Do not open the detector to clean the inside. When changing the batteries, ensure that you use the recommended type*. Using different batteries could have an adverse effect on the alarm. Fix the smoke detector to its mounting plate and test to ensure that it is working correctly (see pages 8-9). Do not attempt to repair the detector yourself, otherwise, you will invalidate the warranty.
Troubleshooting

plate, check that the batteries are not flat and ensure that they are properly
