Product Information: Hurricane 400 XTT – Traction
The Hurricane 400 XTT – Traction is a floor scrubber machine that is designed for cleaning and maintaining floors. It comes with a user maintenance manual that is contained in the machine’s packaging. The machine has a tank for water and chemical, a lever pedal to move the brush up and down, a squeegee lever to lower, and a dial to change speed. It also has a suction filter, a battery charger on board or stand alone, and a pad driver for attaching/removing the brush.
Product Usage Instructions
Before using the Hurricane 400 XTT – Traction, read the user maintenance manual contained in the machine’s packaging and follow all the instructions.
The following are the steps for preparation and operation:
- Add water and chemical to the tank.
- Power on the machine.
- Press the lever pedal to move the brush up and down.
- Pull the squeegee lever to lower it.
- Press the switch to turn on/off the scrubber.
- Use the dial to change the speed of the scrubber.
- Press once to adjust the water level.
- Use the switch to change the direction of the scrubber.
- Pull the lever to activate it.
The following are the steps for daily maintenance:
- Check the suction filter and clean it if needed.
- Check the squeegee blades and replace them if necessary.
The following are the steps for replacing the squeegee blades:
- Remove the squeegee from its support.
- Reposition the two blade pressing devices by centering the wider part of the slots on the squeegee body fastening pins, thenpush the blade pressing devices inwards.
- Open the clip and remove the squeegee blade.
- Reuse the same blade by reversing the edge in contact with the floor until all four edges are worn out, or replace with a new blade, fitting it onto the screws on the body of the squeegee.
- Replace the squeegee on its support, following the instructions previously described.
The following are the steps for attaching/removing the pad driver:
- Attach the brush by resting it on the floor in front of the machine and centering it with the guard. Lower the head and operate the brush/drive lever repeatedly until the brush automatically switches on.
- If brushing is not centered properly, lift the brush up by using the lever and repeat centring.
- Open the clip and remove the pad driver.
- Attach a new pad driver by fitting it onto the screws on the body of the pad driver.
- Close the hook again.

PREPARATION AND OPERATION
- Add water and chemical to tank.
- Power on.
- Press lever pedal to move the brush up and down.
- Pull squeegee lever to lower.
- Press to turn scrubber ON/OFF.
- Use to change direction of scrubber.
- Pull lever to activate.
- Turn dial to change speed.
- Press once to adjust water level.
DAILY MAINTENANCE
- Clean the dirty water tank.
- Make sure the suction filter and debris filter is clean and undamaged.
- Make sure detergent outlet filter is clean and free of debris.
- Make sure the brushes/drive pad are clean and not worn out. Replace if necessary.
- Make sure the squeegee is clean and the blades are not worn.
- Plug in On Board charger to charge batteries if equipped.
- Plug in Stand Alone charger into red charge port to charge batteries if not equipped with On Board charger.
NOTE: Never stop charge until cycle is complete (Green light).
REPLACING THE SQUEEGEE BLADES
Open the clip (Ref. 1).
Remove the two blade retainers (Ref. 2) by pushing them outwards then
extracting them.
Remove the blade.
Reuse the same blade by reversing the edge in contact with the floor until all
four edges are worn out, or replace with a new blade, fitting it onto the
screws on the body of the squeegee. Reposition the two blade pressing devices
by centering the wider part of the slots on the squeegee body fastening pins,
then push the blade pressing devices inwards.
Close the hook again.
Replace the squeegee on its support, following the instructions previously
described.
ATTACHING/REMOVING THE PAD DRIVER
Position the pad driver underneath the head, in the centre (single-brush floor scrubber), position the pad driver underneath the head on both sides (double brush scrubber), switch the machine on. Press the CLICK ON-OFF switch, once after starting the machine releases the pad driver, pressing a button a second time activates automatic pad driver attachment. The button is only enabled when all the functions are deactivated (suction motor and pad driver).
