Caution
Some semiconductor devices are easily damaged by static electricity. You should turn the printer “OFF”, before you connect or remove the cables on the rear side, in order to guard the printer against the static electricity. If the printer is damaged by the static electricity, you should turn the printer “OFF”.
Introduction
This Bluetooth Connection Manual provides information on the connection of Bluetooth-enabled iOS or Android Host devices with the printer.
Precaution
- To connect the printer with another device via Bluetooth, the devices must be within 80m of one another. The connection is broken if the distance between devices exceeds 80m.
- The maximum separating distance may be shortened if transmission obstacles, such as cement walls, are present.
- If a device (such as a microwave oven, wireless LAN, etc.) that uses the same frequency is present, transmission may be interrupted. Separate the printer and Bluetooth-enabled device from such interrupting devices by a distance of at least 5m.
Bluetooth Information Printing
After the printer has finished booting, open the printer cover and press and
hold the FEED Button. This will cause the interface setting confirmation mode.
Then add the paper, close the cover, and check that the following message is
printed.
Errors LED is toggled/blinked until Bluetooth is booted. The number of Bluetooth setting information may be different for each interface type of the product.
Checking Interface Setting
- 0: Exit
- 1: LAN Information Print
- 2: LAN Factory Reset and Reboot Printer
- 3: B/T Information Print
- 4: B/T Factory Reset and Reboot Printer
- 5 or more: None
Select Modes by Feed button control as below.
- Step 1. Short-press as many times as The mode number to choose.
- Step 2. Long-press over 1 second. *e.g. To choose Mode 2, press Feed
Button 3 times(short-short-long)`
Bluetooth Information Print
If the above message is printed, select Mode 1, and you will see the followingBluetooth data. (To select Mode 1, press the Feed button once quickly/ once long.)
Initializing Bluetooth Setting
If the above message is printed, select Mode 2, and you will see the following Bluetooth information. (To select Mode 2, press the Feed button twice quickly/once long.
After the above message is printed, the printer will automatically reboot.
Bluetooth Connection Instructions
iOS Device
- Select the icon.
- Select “Bluetooth
- Select the printer to connect
- If PIN is required, enter PIN (default: 0000)
- Select “Pair”
- Bluetooth communication is available
Android Device
- Select the icon.
- Select “Bluetooth”.
- Select the printer to connect
- If PIN is required, enter PIN (default: 0000).
- Select “OK”.
- Bluetooth communication is available
Troubleshooting
Please follow the guide below if Bluetooth is not searched on iOS devices.
- Check whether the printer is connected to another iOS device. The printer is not able to be found on your iOS device if it is connected to other iOS device.
- You need to disconnect the connection to another iOS device or turn on the printer again while the paper cover is opened
The printer is automatically connected to the last iOS device which was connected in iOS mode. But it does not make a connection to any device, if user turns it on while the paper cover of it is opened.
