Instruction Manual
Intended use
The SP-500 spoon scale is a digital kitchen scale designed to weigh cooking
and baking ingredients such as spices, oils, tea, baking powder, butter or
yeast up to a maximum of 500 g.
The product has 2 detachable spoon attachments which are easy to clean.
The product is intended for indoor use only. Do not use it outdoors. Contact
with moisture must be avoided under all circumstances.
Using the product for purposes other than those described above may damage the
product.
This product complies with statutory, national and European regulations. For
safety and approval purposes, you must not rebuild and/or modify the product.
Read the operating instructions carefully and store them in a safe place. Make
this product available to third parties only together with the operating
instructions.

5.1 General information
This product is not a toy. Keep it out of the reach of children and pets.
- Do not leave packaging material lying around carelessly. It may become a dangerous plaything for children.
- Should you have any questions or concerns after reading this document, please contact our technical support or a professional technician.
- Maintenance, modifications and repairs must be carried out by a technician or a specialist repair centre.
5.2 Handling
- Do not use the product for weighing objects or substances that are not suitable for human consumption. If non-edible residues remain and enter food, these can be harmful to health.
- Do not use the product as a cooking or eating utensil or to stir food or liquids. Applying too much pressure to the measuring mechanism may damage the product and render it unusable.
- Please handle the product carefully. Impact, shocks or a fall even from a low height can damage the product.
- Never wash the product under water or together with kitchen utensils. Do not clean the product in the dishwasher. Moisture and dampness can damage the product and render it unusable.
- If it is no longer possible to operate the product safely, stop using it and prevent unauthorised use. DO NOT attempt to repair the product yourself. Safe operation can no longer be guaranteed if the product:
– is visibly damaged,
– is no longer working properly,
– has been stored for extended periods in poor ambient conditions or
– has been subjected to any serious transport-related stress.
5.3 Operating conditions
- Do not expose the product to any mechanical stress.
- Protect the product from extreme temperatures, strong jolts, flammable gases, vapours, and solvents.
- Protect the product from high humidity and moisture.
- The product must not be exposed to direct sunlight.
- Never switch the device on immediately after taking it from a cold into a warm environment.
This may cause condensation to form, which can destroy the product. Allow the product to reach room temperature before using it.
5.4 Batteries
- Correct polarity must be observed while inserting the batteries.
- If you do not plan to use the product for an extended period, remove the batteries to prevent damage from leaking. Leaking or damaged batteries may cause acid burns if they come into contact with your skin. Always use suitable protective gloves when handling damaged batteries.
- Batteries must be kept out of reach of children. Do not leave batteries lying around, as there is risk that children or pets may swallow them.
- Batteries must always be replaced/exchanged at the same time. Mixing old and new batteries in the device can lead to battery leakage and device damage.
- Batteries must not be dismantled, short-circuited or thrown into open flames. Never attempt to recharge non-rechargeable batteries. This may cause an explosion!

Operation
7.1 Inserting the batteries
Open the battery compartment on the bottom of the handle (6) and insert 2 x
1.5 V AAA batteries. Ensure that the batteries are inserted with the correct
polarity.
7.2 Button functions

7.3 Switching on and off
- To switch the product on, press the “Tare” / ON/OFF button (5).
- To switch the product off, press and hold the “Tare” / ON/OFF button (5).
7.4 Taring the scale
- Press the “Tare” / ON/OFF button (5) to set the current weight on the spoon attachment (1) to zero.
→ The digital display (2) will show “0.0”.
7.5 Weighing food
- Press the “Tare” / ON/OFF button (5).
- If necessary, use the “Mode” button (3) to switch to your desired measuring unit.
- Hold the product in a horizontal position and do not move it until the digital display (2) shows “0.0”.
- Fill the spoon attachment (1) and hold the spoon scale for a few seconds.
→ The digital display (2) will show the weight and automatically lock the measurement.

7.6 Locking and reading data
- As soon as the weight on the spoon attachment (1) stabilizes, the digital display will constantly show the measured value and lock it.
- Press the “Hold” button (4) to unlock the displayed measurement. You can then weigh again.
- Press and hold the “Hold” button (4) to switch off the automatic lock function. If “H-oFF” appears on the display, this indicates that the lock function is disabled, and only the current weight will be displayed.
- Press and hold the “Hold” button (4) again to re-enable the automatic lock function. If “H-on” appears on the display, this indicates that the lock function is enabled, and the last measured weight will be locked.
7.7 Automatic power-off
- If the product is not used for 1 minute when it is switched on, it switches off automatically.
7.8 Replacing the batteries
The product is powered by two 1.5 V AAA batteries. Replace the batteries when
they are empty in order to continue using the product:
- Loosen the battery compartment screw on the bottom of the product with a suitable screwdriver.
- Open the battery compartment and remove the empty batteries.
- Insert the new batteries and observe the correct polarity.
- Close the battery compartment and reinsert the screw.
→ The product is now ready for use.
Cleaning and care
Important:
– Do not use any aggressive cleaning agents, rubbing alcohol or other
chemical solutions. These may damage the housing and can cause the product to
malfunction.
– Do not immerse the product in water.
- Remove the spoon attachment (1) from the product.
- Clean the spoon attachment (1) with water, such as a washing-up sponge. If necessary, use washing-up liquid.
- If the device is dirty, clean it with a damp cloth. Avoid excess moisture and do not exert strong pressure on the product.
Disposal
9.1 Product
This symbol must appear on any electrical and electronic equipment placed on
the EU market. This symbol indicates that this device should not be disposed
of as unsorted municipal waste at the end of its service life.
Owners of WEEE (Waste from Electrical and Electronic Equipment) shall dispose
of it separately from unsorted municipal waste. Spent batteries and
accumulators, which are not enclosed by the WEEE, as well as lamps that can be
removed from the WEEE in a non-destructive manner, must be removed by end
users from the WEEE in a non-destructive manner before it is handed over to a
collection point.
Distributors of electrical and electronic equipment are legally obliged to
provide free take-back of waste. Conrad provides the following return options
free of charge (more details on our website):
- in our Conrad offices
- at the Conrad collection points
- at the collection points of public waste management authorities or the collection points set up by manufacturers or distributors within the meaning of the ElektroG
End users are responsible for deleting personal data from the WEEE to be
disposed of.
It should be noted that different obligations about the return or recycling of
WEEE may apply in countries outside of Germany.
9.2 (Rechargeable) batteries
Remove any inserted batteries and dispose of them separately from the product.
As the end user; you are required by law to return all used batteries (Battery
Directive). They must not be placed in household waste.
Batteries/rechargeable batteries containing hazardous substances are labelled
with this symbol to indicate that disposal in household waste is forbidden.
The abbreviations for heavy metals in batteries are: Cd=Cadmium, Hg=Mercury,
Pb=Lead (marked on batteries, e.g., under the rubbish bin symbol shown to the
left).
Used batteries can be returned to local collection points, our stores or
battery retailers. You thus fulfil your statutory obligations and contribute
to environmental protection.
Before disposal, the exposed contacts of batteries must be fully covered with
a piece of adhesive tape to prevent short-circuits. Even if batteries are
depleted, the remaining energy may present a hazard in the event of a short-
circuit (bursting, severe heating, fire, explosion).
