VOLTCRAFT VC100WC-3 Car USB-CTM Charging Adapter
Intended use
- This product is designed to charge and power USB devices in a vehicle. It can be operated with a 12 or 24 V on-board voltage. Power is supplied via a cigarette lighter socket.
- The product is intended for indoor use only. Do not use it outdoors. Contact with moisture must be avoided under all circumstances.
- Using the product for purposes other than those described above may damage the product. Improper use can cause a short circuit, fire or other hazards.
- This product complies with statutory, national and European regulations. For safety and approval purposes, you must not rebuild and/or modify the product.
- Read the operating instructions carefully and store them in a safe place. Make this product available to third parties only together with the operating instructions.

Handling
Please handle the product carefully. Impact, shocks or a fall even from a low height can damage the product. -
Operating conditions
- Do not place the product under any mechanical stress.
- Protect the product from extreme temperatures, strong jolts, flammable gases, vapours, and solvents.
- Protect the product from high humidity and moisture.
- The product must not be exposed to direct sunlight.

Operation
- Consult an expert when in doubt about the operation, safety or connection of the device.
- Never use the product immediately after it has been taken from a cold room into a warm one. This may cause condensation to form, which can destroy the product. Allow the product to reach room temperature before using it.
- Never leave the product and the connected device unattended during use.
- Unplug the product while it is not in use.
- The product may heat up during use. Ensure that there is sufficient ventilation. Do not cover the product during use.
- Never short circuit the outputs on the product.
- If it is no longer possible to operate the product safely, stop using it and prevent unauthorised use. DO NOT attempt to repair the product yourself. Safe operation can no longer be guaranteed if the product:
- is visibly damaged,
- is no longer working properly,
- has been stored for extended periods in poor ambient conditions or
- has been subjected to any serious transport-related stress.

- Always switch the connected device off before connecting/disconnecting the product.
- Always observe the safety information and operating instructions of any other devices which are connected to the product.

Operation
Always switch off the desired device before connecting it to the charging
adapter.
Ensure that the connection is correct. If the product is not connected
properly, it could overheat or cause an electric shock or fire.
Ensure that your device is suitable for the connection ratings of the product
(see “Technical data” section).
Charging a USB device
- Connect the switched-off USB device to the product. Use either the integrated USB-CTM cable (2) or a suitable cable for the USB-CTM port (1) / USB-A port (5).
- Plug the adapter plug (3) into the cigarette lighter socket in your vehicle. The status LED (4) on the product will light up to indicate that the product is ready for use.
The USB device will now charge. If you wish to use the USB device, you may now turn it on.
Disconnecting a USB device
- Switch the USB device off.
- Disconnect the product from the cigarette lighter socket.
- Disconnect the USB cable from the product.
Important:
- You can use the product when the engine is on or off. However, you should not start the engine when the product is connected, as the power supply to the cigarette lighter socket is interrupted at start-up (on some vehicle models).
- If the engine is switched off, charging over a longer period of time will discharge the vehicle battery.
Changing the fuse
If the status LED (4) does not light up after you have inserted the adapter plug (3) into the cigarette lighter socket in the vehicle, you should check the fuse installed in the adapter plug (3) and replace it if necessary. Proceed as follows:

Turn the cap on the tip of the adapter plug (3) counter-clockwise.

Remove the defective fuse and replace it with a fuse of the same type (see “Technical Data” section).

Reinstall the cap and turn it clockwise.
Cleaning and care
Important
Do not use any aggressive cleaning agents, rubbing alcohol or other chemical
solutions, as these may damage the housing or impair the functioning of the
device.
- Disconnect the product from the power supply and the connected devices before cleaning.
- Use a dry, lint-free cloth to clean the product. Do not allow water to get inside the housing. To prevent scratch marks, do not press too strongly on the surface when cleaning.
Disposal
All electrical and electronic equipment placed on the European market must be
labelled with this symbol. This symbol indicates that this device should be
disposed of separately from unsorted municipal waste at the end of its service
life.
All owners of waste equipment are obliged to dispose of waste equipment
separately from unsorted municipal waste. Before handing the old device to a
collection point, end users are required to separate old batteries which are
not enclosed by the old device, as well as lamps which can be removed from the
old device without any damage.
Distributors of electrical and electronic equipment are legally required to accept waste equipment free of charge. Conrad offers the following free return options (further information is available on our website):
- At our Conrad stores
- At the collection points established by Conrad
- At the collection points of public waste disposal agencies or at the collection systems set up by manufacturers and distributors in accordance with the German Electrical and Electronic Equipment Act.
The end user is responsible for deleting personal data on the old device
before disposal.
Please note that in countries outside Germany, other obligations may apply to
the return and recycling of old devices.
