RISK OF BURNS!

  • Always hold the appliance by the handle while it is hot.
  • Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.
  • Never place your hands in the steam spray or on hot metal parts.
  • Do not open the filler opening for the water tank while the iron is in use. Allow the device to cool down completely, then remove the plug from the power socket.
  • Never iron any piece of clothing while wearing it!
  • Never aim the steam jet at persons or animals.
  • The steam brush and its connecting cable must be kept out of the reach of children under the age of 8 while it is switched on or cooling down.
  • Exercise due caution while operating the appliance, as it may emit steam.

Caution! Hot surface!

RISK OF FIRE! RISK OF INJURY!

  • Never leave the steam brush unattended while it is heated up, switched on or connected to the mains power supply.

  • Do not put the appliance away until it has cooled down completely.

  • The appliance must be used and set down on stable surfaces only.

  • Always place the appliance on a level and heat-resistant surface with the stand unfolded. The appliance must be set down in a stable position.

  • Use only the ironing temperatures stated in the care instructions as suitable for the material. Otherwise, you could damage the textiles.
If you do not know the correct care instructions, start with the lowest temperature setting.

  • Never permit children to use the steam brush.

RISK OF ELECTRICAL SHOCK!

  • The voltage of the power source must conform to the details given on the type plate of the appliance.
  • To avoid potential risks, arrange for a defective appliance to be checked and possibly repaired by qualified technicians, or contact our Customer Service Department.
  • Arrange for defective power plugs and/or cables to be replaced as soon as possible by the manufacturer, its customer service or by a qualified technician.
  • When disconnecting the appliance from the power source, pull only on the plug itself, never on the cable.
  • Never bend (kink) or crush the power cable, always route it in such a way that it cannot come into contact with hot surfaces and such that no one can step on or trip over it.
  • Remove the plug from the mains power socket after every usage, before cleaning the appliance and when refilling the appliance with water.
  • Never touch the power cable or the plug with wet hands.
  • Under no circumstances should the appliance be submersed in liquids or liquids be allowed to penetrate the housing. Do not expose the appliance to humidity and do not use it outdoors. If any liquid gets into the housing, disconnect the appliance from the mains power socket immediately and have it repaired by a qualified technician.

CAUTION! PROPERTY DAMAGE!

  • If the clothing care instructions forbid ironing ( symbol), the clothing item must not be treated with the steam brush. Ignoring this warning could lead to permanent damage to the clothing item.
  • Always fill the water tank 1 with tap water (or a mixture of tap and distilled water) only. Otherwise, you will damage the appliance.
  • Do not clean the appliance with solvents, alcohol or abrasive cleaning agents. These could damage it.

Before first use

NOTE

  • As every steam brush is tested for functionality after manufacture, it is possible that droplets of water remain in the water tank 1.
  • Fill the water tank with water 1 (see chapter “Filling the appliance with water”).
  • Insert the plug 7 into a properly installed an grounded wall socket.
  • Hold the steam brush horizontally.
  • Set the temperature control 3 to “MAX”.
  • Heat the steam brush up for several minutes at the highest setting. This will loosen production residue from the ironing sole 10.
  • Activate the steam blast button 8 several times so that steam comes out of the ironing sole 10.
  • Then iron over a piece of scrap fabric to remove any production residues that may remain on the ironing sole 10.

NOTE

  • The first time the appliance heats up, a small amount of smoke and odour may result from production-related residues. This is normal and is completely harmless. Ensure sufficient ventilation; for example, by opening a window.

Operation

NOTES

  • If the clothing care instructions forbid ironing ( symbol), the clothing item must not be treated with the steam brush. Ignoring this warning could lead to permanent damage to the clothing item.
  • Do not treat leather, velvet, waterproofed furniture or fabrics that are sensitive to steam.
Otherwise, you might cause damage to the textile or piece of furniture.

Filling the appliance with water
CAUTION!

  • Only fill the water tank 1 with tap water or a mixture of tap and distilled water. Never fill the water tank 1 with chemical substances, cleaning agents (except descaling agent) or other liquids. Do not use chemically softened water. This could cause irreparable damage to the appliance.

If the mains water in your location is rated as hard, we recommend that you mix the mains water with some distilled water. Otherwise, the jets for the steam blast function could become blocked with limescale prematurely.
To extend the optimal steam blast function, mix mains water with distilled water according to the table.

Water hardness Ratio of distilled water to mains water
very soft/soft 0
medium 1:1
hard 2:1
very hard 3:1

Ask your local water utility about the water hardness in your area.

CAUTION

  • Always remove the plug 7 from the power socket before filling the appliance! There is a risk of electric shock!

  • Remove the water tank 1 by sliding back the release 4 of the water tank 1 until you can lift the water tank 1 up. Grip the water tank 1 by the protruding gripping aids with your thumb and index finger and lift it up vertically. The temperature control 3 stays on the appliance and is not removed along with the water tank.

  • Open the filler opening 2 in the water tank 1.

  • Use the measuring cup t to fill the water tank 1 with water to the “Max” marking.

  • Close the filler opening 2 in the water tank 1.
Ensure that the collar in the filler opening 2 locks into the notch on the lid. This means that the water tank 1 is properly closed.

  • Replace the water tank 1 onto the appliance.
The water tank 1 must audibly click into the release of the water tank 4.

Attaching/removing the brush extension

CAUTION

  • Never remove or attach the brush extension 12 while the appliance is hot.
    Risk of burns!

  • To use the steam and brush functions, please attach the brush extension 12 to the steam brush.

  • To do this, push the brush extension 12 onto the appliance along the guide aid until it is fully attached. The release of the brush extension 11 must click into place audibly.

  • To use the ironing function, please remove the brush extension 12 from the steam brush.

  • To do this, push the release 11 downwards and pull the brush extension 12 off the appliance.

Steam brush function

  •  Attach the brush extension 12 to the appliance.
It must audibly click into the release of the brush extension 11.

  • Insert the plug 7 into a properly installed and grounded wall socket.

  • To produce steam, set the temperature control 3 to ••• or higher. The heat-up indicator lamp 5 lights up. As soon as the selected temperature has been reached, the heat-up indicator lamp 5 goes out.

NOTE

  • To use the steam burst function, set the temperature control 3 to ••• or higher.
Lower temperatures are insufficient for producing a burst of steam.

  • You can now produce a burst of steam by pressing the steam burst button 8.

NOTE

  • To produce the first burst of steam after heating the appliance, you may have to press the steam burst button 8 several times in a row.
The appliance is now ready for use.

CAUTION

  • The steam brush can be used with any piece of clothing. Be careful when treating heatsensitive textiles such as synthetics, polyamide or artificial silk.
Before treating such materials, first process a small test patch in an invisible spot (inside of the seam) to ensure that the hot steam does not damage the material. Do not apply the hot ironing sole 10 to these materials directly. Only use the steam burst function.

Use on clothing

  • Hang the creased piece of clothing onto a coat hanger.
  • Gently stretch the item with one hand and hold it, then apply steam from top to bottom. Combine steam with the clothes brush 14 for gentle removal of all creases.
  • Gently apply pressure with the clothes brush 14 and move the appliance over the piece of clothing from top to bottom.
You can press the steam burst button 8 at brief intervals.

NOTE

  • Only repeat pressing the steam burst button 8 until the heat-up indicator lamp 5 lights up or water drips from the ironing sole 10. Wait until the heat-up indicator lamp 5 goes out before initiating another burst of steam.
  • If the heat-up indicator lamp 5 lights up during operation, do not press the steam blast button 8 again. Wait a few seconds until the heat-up indicator lamp 5 goes out before pressing the steam blast button 8 again.

NOTE

  • If you press the steam burst button 8 while the heat-up indicator lamp 5 is illuminated, the appliance will produce condensation instead of steam, and water will drip from the ironing sole 10.
  • Allow treated clothes to cool down on a coat hanger before wearing them.

Use on curtains and upholstery

  • You can remove creases and wrinkles from draperies by hanging them on a rail.
  • Simply adhere to the instructions under “Use on clothing”.
  • Always carry out a test treatment on an invisible patch of the item.
  • If you are using the appliance horizontally, turn it vertical every now and then to produce the greatest possible amount of steam.

Lint brush

  • To remove lint, string and hair, slowly guide the red lint brush e over your clothes from left to right.
  • Moving the lint brush e over scrap fabric or similar materials in the opposite direction (i.e., from right to left) will clean the brush.

Ironing function

  • Remove the brush extension 12 from the appliance (see “Attaching/removing the brush extension”).
  • The appliance must be connected to correctly installed and earthed mains power sockets only.
  • Set the temperature control 3 in accordance with the international care symbols (laundry label) or the type of fabric. The heat-up indicator lamp 5 lights up. As soon as the selected temperature has been reached, the heat-up indicator lamp 5 goes out.
Laundry label Type of fabric Temperature control 3
Synthetic fibre e.g. viscose, polyester • (low temperature)
Silk, wool •• (medium temperature)
cotton, linen ••• (high Temperature)

NOTE

  • If in doubt, start with a low temperature and gradually increase it. For sensitive fabric, we recommend that you iron an invisible patch (inside of the seam) first to ensure that the ironing process does not cause damage.

  • If your clothes are heavily creased, use the steam function by pressing the steam burst button 8.
To produce steam, set the temperature control 3 to ••• or higher.

  • If the heat-up indicator lamp 5 lights up during operation, do not press the steam blast button 8again: wait a few seconds until the heat-up indicator lamp 5 goes out.

  • Only repeat pressing the steam burst button 8 until the heat-up indicator lamp 5 lights up or water drips from the ironing sole 10. Wait until the heat-up indicator lamp 5 goes out before initiating another burst of steam.

NOTE

  • If you press the steam burst button 8 while the heat-up indicator lamp 5 is illuminated, the appliance will produce condensation instead of steam, and water will drip from the ironing sole 10.
  • If the water tank runs dry during operation 1, pull the mains plug 7 before refilling it.
  • To set the appliance down briefly during operation, unfold the stand 9 to the front and lean the appliance on it.
To resume use of the appliance, simply fold the stand 9 back to the rear.

After using the steam brush

  • Set the temperature control 3 to “MIN”.
  • Always disconnect the plug 7 from the mains power socket after use.
  • Empty the water tank 1 by opening the filler opening 2 of the water tank 1, turning the appliance upside down and swinging it gently.

Descaling
The appliance must be descaled regularly to maintain its maximum performance. The frequency of descaling depends on the quality of the water and the frequency with which the appliance is used.
We recommend that you descale the appliance either once a year or after 50 hours of total use.
We recommend descaling immediately, however, if you notice that the appliance is generating less steam.

NOTE

  • You can do this with a regular descaling agent containing citric acid.
Also observe the instructions for the descaling agent.
  1. Ensure that the appliance has completely cooled down.
  2. Add the descaling agent to the water tank 1.
  3. Insert the plug 7 into a properly installed and grounded wall socket.
  4. To produce steam, set the temperature control 3 to ••• or higher. The heat-up indicator lamp 5 lights up. As soon as the selected temperature has been reached, the heat-up indicator lamp 5 goes out.
  5. Allow the descaling agent to take effect for a few minutes.
  6. Press the steam burst button 8 and start steam- ing an old piece of cloth with the steam brush.
  7. Afterwards, refill the water tank 1 with pure water and steam another old cloth to remove descaler residues.
