About ion

Ions are particles that combine negatively charged oxygen and moisture in the air, and cannot be seen through the naked eye.
(Ion generation method: High-voltage discharge)
Notes

  • You may notice a specific odor when using this hair dryer.
This is not harmful to the human body.

  • The effects of ion might not be felt by the following people.
People with crimpy hair, strong curly hair, very smooth hair, short hair, or who have had a hair straightening perm in the last three or four months.

About Advanced Heat Protection (EH‑NE82 only)
This mode is for gentle drying of hair and scalp.
Sensing system automatically controls the air temperature to avoid unnecessary excessive heat.
About Heat Protection (EH‑NE81 only)
This mode provides constant and warm temperature to protect hair and scalp from heat.

Maintenance of the hair dryer

Make sure to turn OFF the power switch and disconnect the plug from the household outlet. (Except when performing maintenance on the air outlet)

Maintaining the hair dryer
Clean the main body when the hair dryer gets dirty.
Clean the housing only with a soft cloth slightly dampened with tap water or soapy tap water.

Notes

  • Do not use alcohol, polish remover, or detergent (liquid hand soap, etc.).
    – Doing so may cause malfunction, cracking/discoloration of parts, etc.

  • Leaving the hair dryer with hair products or makeup still adhered to the handle or body may degrade the plastic, causing discoloration or cracking, and malfunction.

Maintaining the air outlet
Clean the air outlet once a month or over.
Scrub to remove any dust, hair, etc. blocking the mesh.

  • The hair dryer should be plugged into the household outlet only in case of maintenance for the air outlet.
  • Set the temperature selector to “ ” and the power switch to “I ” for using cool airflow to blow away the dust, etc., as you scrub with the toothbrush.

Notes

  • During maintenance, do not block the air inlet with your hands, etc.
  • During or after maintenance of the air outlet, dust, etc. may scatter. Ensure that the hair dryer blows no dust, etc. from the air outlet before using. (Do not look into the air outlet.)

(Use a commercially available toothbrush.)

Maintaining the ion outlet
Clean the ion outlet about once every 6 months.
This maintenance allows the hair dryer to sustain the generated level of ion over a long period.

  • Use commercially available cotton swabs. (We recommend the thin cotton swabs made for use with babies.)
  • Softly insert the cotton swab until it stops (approximately 6 mm), and turn it softly for 2 or 3 times.

Maintaining the air inlet
Clean the air inlet once a month or over.

  • When dust etc. has built up, detach the filter from the hair dryer and remove the dust etc. using a toothbrush or vacuum cleaner.

  • Use a commercially available toothbrush.
    1. Pull on the catch on the bottom side of the filter to detach.
Panasonic EH-NE82 Household Hair Dryer - figure 5
    2. Remove any dust etc. adhered to the filter or air inlet grille.

  • Remove the dust etc. adhered to the outside of the filter using a vacuum cleaner. If this does not remove the dust, use the thick part of your fingers to push the dust etc. through the fine mesh on the internal side towards the metal mesh on the external side, and scrub away carefully with a toothbrush.

  • Using the toothbrush, carefully scrub away any dust etc.
from the internal side of the filter.

  • Using a vacuum cleaner or toothbrush, carefully remove any dust etc. adhered to the air inlet.

  • Rubbing forcefully with your nails may tear the filter, so please use a toothbrush.
    3. Attach the filter securely, starting with the upper side.

  • Keep pressing until you hear a “click” from both upper and lower catches.

Hair or something is blocking the air inlet.
The connection to the household outlet is loose.
Abnormality caused by a dirty electrode (needle portion).| Remove accumulated lint.
