johansson 9657 AGC and ASC Wideband Amplifier
Product Description
The AGC & ASC Wideband Amplifier optimizes your Wideband V/H signal in real- time. To do so, it uses Automatic Gain Control (AGC) and Automatic Slope Control (ASC).
- Automatic Gain Control and Automatic Slope Control on both satellite lines (V/H)
- DC input for powering amplifier and LNB (Optional power supply (ref. 9933))
- Selectable between Wideband LNB (290 – 2400 MHz) and Universal LNB (950 – 2150 MHz)
- Can be used in installations with 4 to 64 passive optical splits
- Output level selectable for up to 16 splits or 64 splits (for Fiber Optic Systems)

INSTALLATION OF THE HARDWARE
CONFIGURATION OF THE PRODUCT
Switches:
- The left switch lets you select the output power depending on the number of splits in your installation.
- For 4 to 16 splits, use switch position 1 (-40dBm) which will give 70dBµV output level per transponder.
- For 17 to 64 splits, use switch position 2 (-30 dBm) which will give 77dBµV output level per transponder.
- The right switch lets you select the type of LNB used in your installation. The LNB selection defines the slope frequency range:
Wideband LNB: 300-800MHz Universal LNB: 950-1300MHz.
Indication LEDs:
- The 2 LEDs on the left indicate the Slope and Gain status of the left SAT input.
- The 2 LEDs on the right indicate the Slope and Gain status of the right SAT input.
GAIN AND SLOPE LED:
- SOLID RED: signal too strong: cable to short, move the amplifier further away from the source
- BLINKING RED: signal too low: cable too long, move the amplifier more close to the source
- SOLID GREEN: within range, signal level has the correct level
BOTH GAIN and SLOPE LED should be green to guarantee that the average output level has the correct level, generally speaking RED LED (regardless its state) is not a good situation and its advisable to take steps described above
- The SLOPE LED checks the level at 300MHz
- The GAIN LED only checks the level around 2000MHz
