The combination filter should be replaced after 1000 operating hours. The ‘CL’ symbol will automatically flash on the display after 1000 operating hours.
Martha is supplied with one filter. One side of the filter is black (pre- filter) and the other side is white (Hepa).
When replacing the filter, turn off the device and unplug it. Replace the combination filter by removing the lid. You can now remove the old filter and insert a new one. The pre-filter must face the lid before it is applied. Connect the plug to the wall socket and switch on the device. To clear the ‘CL symbol’, push and hold the fan speed key for 5 seconds, a signal sounds and the symbol disappears. The operating time meter is now reset.

  • Daily
Fill with fresh tap water. In case of hard tap water, it is strongly recommend to use soft demineralised water instead. This minimizes potential build-up of calcium deposits

  • Every 10-14 days
Rinse the lower housing and disc stack(s) with warm water. Take apart the Disc stacks piece by piece, clean and wipe each piece, also clean and wipe the lower housing and with soft cloth

  • Clean the filter
Regular cleaning of the filter (once a month) is important for hygienic and fault-free operation. Clean the three-layered filter using the brush attachment of a vacuum cleaner. To carry out a thorough clean, pull out the filter and clean it by using the brush attachment from a vacuum cleaner. The three-layered filter cannot be washed.

  • Rinse   the tray
Rinse out the tray every 2 weeks with warm water. If the air is heavily polluted, the device is used intensively, or the water quality is poor, the humidifier must be cleaned at shorter intervals. Before you can pull the tray out for cleaning, you must first pull the water tank out of the air humidifier from above. Remove any deposits in the tray using a soft cloth. We reccomend, that you do not use any corrosive, caustic or solvent-based cleaning products. You can put the tray in the dishwasher.

IMPORTANT!
WARNING! Always empty and thoroughly clean the water tank and the tray of the air humidifier if the device contains water and has not been operated for longer than 3 days. A lack of cleaning and hygiene can cause bacteria, algae and fungi to form in the water.

Cleaning the disc set
Before you clean the disc set, pull it upwards and out of the device. We reccomend you to clean the disc set every 2 weeks with warm water and a soft cloth. If it is heavily soiled, you can also clean the disc set in the dishwasher. Do not use any corrosive, caustic or solvent-based cleaning products.

Descaling
Cleaning of disc stacks – Soaking the Ddsc stacks in hot water with white vinegar for approx. 30 minutes will help loosen any buildup of calcium or lime. Always rinse with warm tap water after cleaning.
DO NOT USE: Detergent, mild soap, bleach, household cleaners. Vinegar and water solution – either a 50:50 or a 3:1 ratio of white vinegar and water can be used.

IMPORTANT!

Storage

We recommend a thorough cleaning of your humidifier before storing the unit. Please make sure that all components are clean and dry prior to storing.
