Introduction
The purpose of this guide is to enable the successful installation of the TRIAX SAT Fibre Optic System, utilizing the OTX at the headend. Please read and follow the advices comprehensively.
Functional description
The Wideband LNB TWB 40 is preferred for using with the TRIAX SAT Fibre Optic Transmitter OTX in order to utilize the SAT FO Headend fibre optic distribution networks. The LNB is designed with two fixed SAT-IF wideband outputs with F-female connectors. The LNB is voltage supplied by the OTX transmitter via V- port (+12V) and the H-port (+20V).

Specific safety instructions
- The installation is carried out by a competent person.
- A site survey has been completed; the location for the dish has been chosen and the dish has been installed to comply with the user manual of the dish and with the safety requirements of EN 60728-11, especially in terms of grounding of the dish and mast.
- Fasten all screws to fix the dish and LNB when mechanical adjustments for best reception have been solved.
Installation
- Mount the LNB into the feed holder of the dish. Firstly do fasten the screw only slightly.
- Connect an SAT-IF level meter with DC supply 18V to H- or 13V to V-port of the LNB.
- Align the dish to the wanted Satellite position by reaching the top output level on the level meter.
- Adjust the position of the LNB by a slight rotation of the LNB to + or – in order to get the highest cross-polarization rejection and MER value on the level meter. Fasten all screws to fix the dish and LNB finally.
- Connect the coaxial patch cables to the OTX (aware: H-H and V-V).
- The coaxial cable connectors should be waterproofed e.g. by gel boot and amalgamating tape.
