We congratulate you on the purchase of your new product. You have chosen a high quality product. The instructions for use are part of the product. They contain important information concerning safety, use and disposal. Before using the product, please familiarise yourself with all of the safety information and instructions for use. Only use the product as described and for the specified applications. If you pass the product on to anyone else, please ensure that you also pass on all the documentation with it.

Safety information

PLEASE KEEP THE INSTRUCTIONS IN A SAFE PLACE. WHEN PASSING THIS PRODUCT ON TO OTHERS; PLEASE ALSO INCLUDE ALL OF THE DOCUMENTS!

  • Keep children away from the product. This product is not a toy.
  • This product may be used by children age 8 years and up, as well as by persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capacities, or lacking experience and/or knowledge, so long as they are supervised or instructed in the safe use of the product and understand the associated risks. Children should not be allowed to play with the product. Cleaning and user maintenance should not be performed by children without supervision.
  • CAUTION! RISK OF INJURY! Please ensure that no parts are damaged and that all parts are correctly assembled. Incorrect assembly could lead to injury. Damaged parts could impact safety and function.
  • Place the product on an flat and smooth surface. The product may otherwise tip over. This may result in injury or damage to the product.
  • Only use the product together with the included accessories.
  • Only use the product indoors.
  • Only use the pump 7 when it is completely covered in water. Otherwise the pump could overheat. This may lead to the product being damaged.
  • Ensure that there are no items in the water that could be sucked into the pump. The product may otherwise be damaged.
  • Only use the product with distilled water with out any additives such as fragrances or the like. Additives which are mixed in can ignite. This may result in injury and / or damage.

Avoid the danger of death from electric shock!

  • Before use, ensure the available mains voltage matches the voltage required for mains adapter 9 (The input voltage can be found on the rating plate of the mains adapter 9 : 230– 240 V∼, 50 Hz).
  • Always check the product, the pump 7 and the mains adapter 9 for any damage before connecting it to the mains.
  • A damaged product represents the danger of death from electric shock.
  • Never open any of the components of the electrical equipment or insert any objects into the same components. This will pose a risk of fatal injury from electric shock.
  • Never touch the mains adapter 9 or main plug with moist or wet hands.
  • Ensure that the mains adapter 9 or main plug never comes into contact with water or other liquids.
  • Do not use the power cable for purposes for which it was not intended e.g. for carrying the pump, hanging it up or to pull the mains adapter 9 out the plug. Keep the lead away from heat, oil, sharp edges or moving equipment parts. Damaged or tangled leads increase the risk of an electric shock.
  • Dispose of the electrical parts of the product if the cable is damaged or if you find any kind of mechanical problems. The electrical parts of the product and all associated items cannot be replaced.
  • Only carry out work on the product if the mains plug is disconnected from the mains.
  • Never leave the pump running without water.
  • The product is only suited for use with the included mains adapter 9 (Model No. MAI-1200300).
  • To switch the product off completely, unplug the main plug from the socket.

Changing the water /maintenance/cleaning/care

WARNING: DANGER TO LIFE BY ELECTRIC SHOCK! Pull the mains adaptor 9 out of the socket before carrying out any work on the product.

Always use distilled water to avoid the build up of lime scale!

Note

  1. Water can be evaporated during operating, fill the water up to “-M-” when water level fall to “-m-”.
  2. To avoid the build up of algae you should clean regularly change the water and and clean the water container 10 and cover 4 , other parts at regular intervals – at least once a week. With one pet, we recommend you replace filter 2 and sponge 11 monthly. If there are several pets, the filter 2 and sponge 11 may need to be changed more frequently if they are clogged/soiled. You may check with Optimex service: “https://shop.optimex-services.de” for filter 2 and sponge 11 information.
  3. Only use cleaning brush to clean the product. And you may put the water container 10 to the dish washer for cleaning.
  • Detach filter 2 , cover 4, pump 7 and water outlet accessories 1 from each other.
  • Replace filter 2 and clean other parts with cleaning brush 12.
  • Pull the nozzle 6 out of the cover 4.
  • Lie the unit of cover 4 carefully aside together with pump 7.
  • Carefully pour the water out from water container 10 then clean it with cleaning brush 12.
  • Rebuild the product again (see “Installation“).

Before first use

  • Carefully unpack the product and accessories.
  • Place the water container 10 on an even and level surface near a power socket (230– 240 V∼, 50 Hz).

Installation

  • Connect the supply nozzle 6 of pump 7 to the water inlet 5 of cover 4 . Attach the filter 2 to filter slot 3 of cover 4 (beware the side and direction) (see Fig. B), then install water outlet accessories 1 to the top of filter slot 3 optionally (also beware the side and direction).
  • Put the cover 4 and the attached pump into the water container and lead the power lead 8 through the notch on the back of the water container 10 . Fill the water container 10 up to the marking “-M-” with distilled water.
  • Your product is now ready for use.
  • Note: Distilled water should not be drunk in high volumes otherwise it can be life-threatening.

Switching the product on / off

  • Plug the mains adaptor 9 into the mains. The product starts automatically.
  • Unplug the mains adaptor 9 from the mains to turn off the product.

Disposal

The packaging is made entirely of recyclable materials, which you may dispose of at local recycling facilities.

  • Observe the marking of the packaging materials for waste separation, which are marked with abbreviations (a) and numbers (b) with following meaning: 1–7: plastics / 20–22: paper and fibreboard / 80–98: composite materials.
  • The product and packaging materials are recyclable, dispose of it separately for better waste treatment. The Triman logo is valid in France only.
  • Contact your local refuse disposal authority for more details of how to dispose of your worn-out product.
  • To help protect the environment, please dispose of the product properly when it has reached the end of its useful life and not in the household waste. Information on collection points and their opening hours can be obtained from your local authority.

Warranty

The product has been manufactured to strict quality guidelines and meticulously examined before delivery. In the event of product defects you have legal rights against the retailer of this product. Your legal rights are not limited in any way by our warranty detailed below.

The warranty for this product is 3 years from the date of purchase. The warranty period begins on the date of purchase. Please keep the original sales receipt in a safe location. This document is required as your proof of purchase. Should this product show any fault in materials or manufacture within 3 years from the date of purchase, we will repair or replace it – at our choice free of charge to you. This warranty becomes void if the product has been damaged, or used or maintained improperly. The warranty applies to defects in material or manufacture. This warranty does not cover product parts subject to normal wear, thus possibly considered consumables (e.g. batteries) or for damage to fragile parts, e.g. switches, rechargeable batteries or glass parts.

Warranty claim procedure

To ensure quick processing of your case, please observe the following instructions: Please have the till receipt and the item number (IAN 375629_2104) available as proof of purchase. You will find the item number on the rating plate, an engraving on the front page of the instructions for use (bottom left), or as a sticker on the rear or bottom of the product. If functional or other defects occur, please contact the service department listed either by telephone or by e-mail. You can return a defective product to us free of charge to the service address that will be provided to you. Ensure that you enclose the proof of purchase (till receipt) and information about what the defect is and when it occurred.
