- Please read these instructions carefully before use and retain them for future reference.
- Only use the appliance for domestic purposes and household or similar.
- Only use the appliance in the way indicated in these instructions.
- Never use this Grill near bathtubs, showers, wash-hand basins, or other containers with water.
- Never use this Grill near water projections.
- Never use this Grill with wet hands.
- If the Grill gets wet, immediately unplug it from the socket outlet.
- Inform potential users of these instructions.
- Never leave the appliance unsupervised when in use.
- The appliance must be used only for its intended purpose. No responsibility can be taken for any possible damage caused by incorrect use or improper handling.
- This device can be used by children aged 8 years and older and adults, with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or loci< of experience and knowledge, if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning the use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved.
- Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children unless they are older than 8 and supervised.
- Keep the appliance and its cord out of reach of children aged less than 8 years.
- In order to ensure your children’s safety, please keep all packaging (plastic bags, boxes, polystyrene, etc.) out of reach.
THERE IS A DANGER OF SUFFOCATION!
- From time to time check the cord for damages. Never use the appliance if the cord or appliance shows any signs of damage.
- Never immerse the appliance in water or any other liquid for any reason whatsoever.
- Never place the grill into a dishwasher.
- Never use the appliance near hot surfaces.
- If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent or a similarly competent qualified person in order to avoid a hazard.
- Disconnect the power source cable before any cleaning or maintenance and accessories assembly,
- Never use the appliance outside and always place it in a dry environment.
- Never use accessories that are not recommended by the producer. They could constitute a danger to the user and risk damage to the appliance.
- Never move the appliance by pulling the cord. Make sure the cord cannot become entangled when using,
- Never wind the cord around the appliance and do not bend or twist it,
- Ensure that the power cord does not come into contact with hot parts of this unit.
- Make sure the appliance has cooled down before cleaning and storing it.
- The temperature of accessible surfaces may be very high when the appliance is operating. Never touch these parts of the appliance to avoid burns.
- Make sure the appliance never comes into contact with flammable materials, such as curtains, cloth, etc … & the power cord and plug do not come in contact with water.
- Before cleaning, always unplug the appliance from the power supply and let it cool down.
- This appliance is not intended to be operated by means of an external timer or separate remote-control system.
- Always place the unit on a flat surface. Ensure, also, not to cover the device and not to put anything on it.
- Always remove the plug from the wall socket when the appliance is not in use.
- Incorrect operation and improper use can damage the appliance and cause injury to the user.
- This device is designed for home use.
IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS
Before using your barbecue grill, read the following instructions carefully.
- Attach the two feet to the underside of the unit before using.
- Make sure that the supply voltage is the same as the voltage marked on the barbecue grill.
WARNING: NEVER COVER THE GRILL RACK WITH ALUMINIUM FOIL, ANY KIND OF KITCHENWARE ETC. ALWAYS FILL THE TRAY WITH WATER BEFORE YOU SWITCH ON THE APPLIANCE. THE WATER LEVEL SHOULD PREFERABLY BE KEPT BETWEEN THE MIN AND THE MAX WATER LEVEL MARKS.
When the water level drops under the min level mark, refill the tray with
water up to the max level. Take care not to pour water on the heating element.
The housing and the heating element get very hot in use. Be careful not to
touch them while the appliance is in use or until fully cool (danger of
burns)! When using the barbecue grill with a stand, take care that the
appliance stands stable and safe. When using the appliance as a table grill,
be careful not to position it right against a wall or in a corner. It is
important that the barbecue grill is always supervised while it is in use. Do
not store the barbecue grill outdoors to avoid damage through bad weather.
Make sure that no inflammable materials are adjacent to the grill. Set up the
barbecue grill on a suitable heat-resistant work surface. Always drain the
appliance of water and allow it to cool before storing.
Always switch off and disconnect the barbecue grill from the mains supply
socket:
- when it is not in use
- in the event of a malfunction during use.
- before cleaning
This barbecue grill is not intended for use with charcoal. All repairs of electrical appliances should only be performed by suitably qualified persons only. If the BBQ Grill is operated in any manner other than described in these instructions for use no liability will be undertaken for possible damage.
BEFORE FIRST USE
Clean the BBQ Grill and its accessories. When it is first switched on the grill may emit a slight odour and a small amount of smoke may also be noticeable. We, therefore, recommend you to heat up the barbecue grill for about 5 minutes without any foodstuffs.
HOW TO USE YOUR BARBECUE GRILL
Fill the tray with approx. 2L of water making sure to stay between the Min &
Max fill lines. Connect the BBQ Grill to the mains supply socket and turn the
thermostat dial to the highest setting (Max) and the pilot light will come on.
Preheat for about 5 minutes before use. When grilling delicate foodstuffs or
for keeping food warm you can turn the thermostat back to a lower position.
NOTE: THE APPLIANCE HAS A MICRO-SWITCH, IF YOU REMOVE THE HEATING ELEMENT
FROM THE APPLIANCE IT WILL TURN OFF AUTOMATICALLY.
The water in the tray will evaporate during use. It is, therefore, necessary
to fill up with water from time to time. Be careful not to pour water on the
heating element. When grilling is finished, turn the thermostat to the “min”
position and disconnect the grill from the main supply socket.
Cleaning and Care
Before cleaning your barbecue grill, always make sure that the plug has been removed from the main supply socket. Allow the grill to cool down thoroughly before cleaning. Never switch the heating element on when it is not fitted into place on the base. Never immerse the heating element or plug in water. Clean the heating element with a clean and dry cloth only. Clean the grill rack and the tray with warm soapy water and dry afterwards. Do not use harsh abrasive cleaners or a metal sponge to clean the tray.
Plug
- This appliance has been fitted with a BS UK compliant plug which should not be replaced or removed
- The plug is fitted with UK compliant fuse link which is suitable for this type of appliance and should only be replaced by a fuse link of the same rating
- If access to the fuse link is only possible by removing the plug cover this must only be done by a suitably qualified person.
- If the plug or the mains cable of this appliance is damaged do not use and dispose of the appliance responsibly.
- This appliance is earthed.
