USE AND MAINTENANCE

IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
Instructions should be carefully read before installation and retrained by the user. The booklet must be keeped and delivered to the new user in case of cession of the machine.

  1. This appliance is intended solely for the use it has been designer for, namely people heating. The manufacturer is not responsible for any damage that could happen for improper use.
  2. After unpacking make sure the appliance is complete and shows no signs of visible damage or tampering.
  3. Keep packing materials, which are potential dangers, away from children.
  4. The device can be used by children at least 8 years (as well as by persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience or required knowledge) provided that they are under surveillance, or after they have been instructed relating to the safe use and have understood the potential dangers. Children should not play with the appliance. Cleaning and maintenance must be performed by the user and not by unsupervised children.
  5. Children of less than 3 years should be kept away unless continuously supervised.
  6. Children aged from 3 years and less than 8 years shall only switch on/off the appliance provided that it has been placed or installed in its intended normal operating position and they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved.
  7. Children aged from 3 years and less than 8 years shall not plug in, regulate and clean the appliance or perform user maintenance.
  8. Before connecting the appliance make sure that the voltage is the same as indicated on the device and the line supply is corresponding to the effective rules.
  9. Ensure that the grounding system is efficient.
  10. Do not use in presence of gas, inflammable or explosive liquids or substances. Defined in BS5345.
  11. Do not use atomizer sprays (e.g. insecticides, hair spray, cleaning devices). In addition keep the heater away from chemical substances, oil and medicines, etc.
  12. Some fundamental rules which apply to all electrical devices must be observed when using the heater:
    • Do not touch the heather with wet hands.
    • Do not handle with bare feet.
    • Do not pull the electric cord or the device itself to unplug it from the socket; pull the plug directly after checking that is in OFF position.
  13. Avoid the use of an extension cord with this product, because the extension cord may overheat and cause a risk of fire.
  14. Do not use multiple plugs but only plugs with single output and specific power.
  15.  Do not apply any modification to the product that could compromise the safety.
  16. Keep connections dry.
  17. Do not use this heater in the immediate surroundings of a bath, a shower or a swimming pool.
  18. If the power supply cord is damaged, avoid to use the appliance. For power cord replacing, please contact the manufacturer or the technical service or a person with similar qualification, in order to avoid any risk.
  19.  Disconnect the appliance from the power supply in the following circumstances:
    • Before any maintenance.
    • If you are not using it for long periods.
    • When it is upside down or resting on its side.
    • When it is moved.
  20.  Do not introduce any foreign object inside the appliance: this could cause the risk of fire or electric shock.
  21. The appliance must not be used in the immediate vicinity of a power outlet.
  22. This heater is not equipped with an ambient temperature control device. Do not use it in small rooms when they are occupied by people unable to leave the room on their own unless constantly supervised.
  23. Make sure it is completely cooled before putting it back in its packaging

The appliance is intended for household use only.
Do not use the appliance outdoors.
It ‘absolutely forbidden to disassemble or repair the unit (danger of electric shock); if necessary contact a qualified technician. In the case of abnormal situations, turn the appliance off immediately and contact your Dealer or Service.
Make sure that the circuit is protected by a Residual Current Device (RCD) with intervention current not exceeding 30mA
CAUTION – Some parts of this product can become very hot and cause burns. Particular attention has to be given where children and vulnerable people are present.

PARTS DESCRIPTION

ASSEMBLY

Join the two pieces that make up the base making them match in the center. (Fig.1)
Fix the base to the heating body using the 4 screws supplied. (Fig.2)

FUNCTIONING

During use, keep the heater at a safety distance at least one meter from inflammable objects (e.g. curtains) and from walls.
Place the heater on a flat surface and connect to the power outlet. Make sure that the heater directs its rays to the area you want to
heat.
Turn the right knob to select the activation (ON) or deactivation (OFF)
of the oscillation function.
Turn the left knob to select the lamp power:

  1. 50%
  2. 100%
    Reposition the left knob on 0 to turn off the appliance.

When the appliance is operating:

  • Do not hang combustible objects on it, such a s table cloths etc.
  • Do not use it near inflammable objects or surfaces that obstruct it.
  • Do not insert metal objects, such as needles, iron wires etc.
  •  Do not use it to warm domestic animals.

In the event of a fall, a safety switch will automatically shut down the appliance.
Do not use the heater on uneven surfaces or carpets.
Do not use this heater with a programmer, timer or any other device that can turn it on automatically: if it is covered or positioned incorrectly there is a risk of fire.

CARE AND CLEANING

Before cleaning, be sure the appliance is disconnected from the power supply and allowed to cool. Never immerse the appliance in water or any other liquid. To clean, use a soft damp cloth and then dry thoroughly. Make sure all parts are dry before using again.
Avoid the use of harsh detergents, solvents, and abrasive or aerosol cleaners as they may damage surfaces.

The replacement of the lamp or any repairs should be carried on by an authorized Service Centre; ask always for original spare parts.

ENVIRONMENTALLY COMPATIBLE DISPOSAL OF THE APPLIANCE

This product conforms to EU Directive 2002/96/EC.
This appliance bears the symbol of the barred waste bin. This indicates that, at the end of its useful life, it must not be disposed of as domestic waste, but must be taken to a collection centre for waste electrical and electronic equipment, or returned to a retailer on purchase of a replacement. It is the user’s responsibility to dispose of this appliance through the appropriate channels at the end of its useful life. Failure to do so may incur the penalties established by laws governing waste disposal.
Proper differential collection, and the subsequent recycling, processing and environmentally compatible disposal of waste equipment avoids unnecessary damage to the environment and possible related health risks, and also promotes recycling of the materials used in the appliance. For further information on waste collection and disposal, contact your local waste disposal service, or the shop from which you purchased the appliance. Manufacturers and importers fulfil their responsibilities for recycling, processing and environmentally compatible disposal either directly or by participating in collective systems.
