Safety precautions

This product complies with the requirements of the following directives of the European Union for CE conformity: 2014/30/EU (electromagnetic compatibility), 2014/35/EU (low voltage), 2011/65/EU (RoHS).

  • Do not operate or touch the appliance with wet or damp hands.
  • Use the unit only in accordance with its intended purpose and within the specifications stated here.
  • Never operate mains units unattended.
  • Avoid overcurrent and short circuits and eliminate them immediately if necessary.
  • Make sure that no metal objects, other debris or water get inside the appliance.
  • Never operate the appliance unless it is completely closed.
  • It is essential to observe the warning notices on the appliance.
  • Do not expose the unit to extreme temperatures, direct sunlight, extreme humidity or moisture.
  • Do not make any technical modifications to the unit.
  • Avoid strong vibrations.
  • Do not connect a defective switching power supply to external devices. The voltage stabilisation circuit could be defective and the possible high output voltage could damage the external device.
  • Inspect and repair internal circuits only after the internal components have cooled down completely.
  • The unit is only suitable for indoor applications.
  • Avoid any proximity to explosive and flammable substances.
  • Opening of the unit and maintenance and repair work may only be carried out by qualified service technicians.
  • Clean the cabinet regularly with a damp cloth and mild detergent. Do not use corrosive abrasive cleaners.

Setting up the unit

  • Do not install or operate the unit in a damp or dusty environment.
  • Do not expose the appliance to direct sunlight.
  • When setting up, ensure sufficient air circulation to cool the internal circuits, never cover ventilation slots.
  • Do not operate the unit in the vicinity of devices with high electromagnetic radiation.
  • Do not exceed maximum permissible output values (do not connect switching power supply to loads with higher input currents than the maximum permissible output current of the switching power supply.
  • Do not connect the power supply unit to loads with high inrush currents.

Connection and operation

  1. Before connecting the mains cable to a mains socket, make sure that the available mains voltage matches the mains voltage 110 – 240 V AC required for the switching power supply (see voltage information on the back of the unit).
  2. Switch on the switching power supply and set the required output voltage for the external device on the switching power supply.
  3. Connect the external device to the switching power supply. Connect the positive input of the external device to the positive output (+red) and the negative input of the external device to the negative output (-black) of the switching power supply.
  4. After work has been completed, first switch off the external device and then the switching power supply.

Introduction

The handy and lightweight DC switched-mode power supply convinces with high performance in a very small design. It offers freely adjustable DC output voltages between 1.5V and 15V with fixed output current for loads up to 2 amps. To avoid damage due to incorrect operation, read the operating instructions carefully before putting the unit into operation. For reference purposes, always keep the operating instructions near the unit or the working station and make them accessible to subsequent users.

NOTE

  • Laboratory power supplies are not designed for charging batteries. Such use may result in serious damage to the unit, which is excluded from claims of any kind.
  • If the output sockets are short-circuited or the load current exceeds the specified maximum current, the unit will attempt to readjust, resulting in a jumping display. Remove the source of the error and the unit will return to normal.

Features

  • Good readable display for voltage and current
  • Continuously adjustable output voltage
  • Output of a stabilised DC voltage
  • Handy design, lower weight.
  • Internal safety circuit against overheating.
