WARNING: Read and understand the operating manual before use. Non-compliance with the safety regulations and other basic safety notes can lead to serious injury.

Intended use
The log grapple/forest lifting tong has 4 claws that ensure safety and stability when working with heavy logs. They are characterised by a durable steel construction that is designed in such a way that the desired task can be performed without any problems. It takes over the lifting of the logs while sawing, supports them from the ground and thus prevents the chainsaw from touching the ground. So, you can work safely, back-friendly, and effortlessly!

Product Description

Log grapples/forest lifting tongs for gripping and transporting trunks: With this grapple, you can save a lot of time when loading logs, as it is no longer necessary to put chains or ropes around the trunks; one grapple is enough. In addition, the forest floor is significantly spared in this way. The grapple has 4 claws  that provide safety and stability while working.

Important safety notes

WARNING

  • Read and understand all instructions. Failure to follow all instructions could result in serious injury or property damage.
  • The warnings, cautions, and instructions in this manual cannot cover all possible conditions or circumstances that may arise. Be sensible and careful when using the grapple.
  • Always be aware of your surroundings and ensure that the grapple is used safely and responsibly.
  • Do not allow people to operate or assemble the grapple until they have read these instruc-tions and have developed a thorough understanding of how it works.
  • Do not modify the grapple in any way. Unauthorised changes can impair the function and/or safety and impair the service life of the grapple. The grapple is designed for very specific applications.
  • Use the right tool for the job at hand. DO NOT try to do the work that would require larger industrial equipment to be done with small equipment. The tool works better and safer when it is used in the performance range intended for it. DO NOT use the grapple for any purpose for which it is not intended.

Work area safety

  • Check the work area before each use. Keep your work area dry, dirt-free, and well-lit. Cluttered, wet, or dark work areas can lead to injuries. Using the grapple in tight work areas can lead to dangerous proximity to cutting tools and rotating parts.
  • Keep children and bystanders away from the work area while you are operating the grapple. Do not let children work with the grapple.

Personal safety

  • Stay vigilant and pay full attention to what you are doing. Always pay attention to the operation of the grapple and do not use it when you are tired or under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or medicine. A moment of inattention while operating the grapple can result in serious injury.
  • Dress appropriately. Do not wear loose clothing, hanging objects, or jewellery. Keep hair, cloth-ing, and gloves away from moving parts. Loose clothing, jewellery or long hair can get caught in moving parts.
  • Wear suitable protective equipment if necessary. Use approved protective goggles (not pre-scription glasses) with side shields or, if necessary, with a face shield. Wear a dust mask if there is a lot of dust in your work area. Also put on non-slip safety shoes, a hard hat and gloves and use dust collection systems and, if necessary, hearing protection. This applies to everyone pre-sent within the work area.
  • Do not underestimate the situation. Always make sure you are in a good position and always keep your balance.

Caution!
Use and care of the grapple

  • Do not force the grapple in. Tools work safer and better when used the way that they are de-signed for. Plan your work and use the right tool for the job at hand.
  • Check the grapple for damaged parts before each use. Carefully check that the grapple is work-ing properly and performing its intended function. Replace damaged or worn parts immediately. Never use the grapple if any of its parts is damaged.
  • When not in use, keep the grapple in a dry, safe place out of the reach of children. Check the tool before storage and before using it again to ensure that it is in perfect condition.
  • Only use accessories recommended by the manufacturer for use with your grapple. Accessories that are suitable for a particular tool can cause injury if used with another tool. Never use ac-cessories that have a slower operating speed, pressure, or capacity than the tool itself.
  • Keep the protective devices in the place intended for them and make sure that they remain functional. Never operate the grapple without protective devices.

Special warnings regarding the use of the grapple

  • The maximum load must not be exceeded.
  • Before using the device, always check whether parts are bent or twisted or whether there are other visible defects such as deformation or damage.
  • If attachments such as hooks or rings are desired for use with the grapple, make sure that the attachments are selected according to type, quality, and size for use with the corresponding products.
  • Use only light metal chains or wire ropes and accessories designed for overhead lifting.

Maintenance

Maintain the grapple regularly. It is recommended to check the general condition of each tool before each use. Be sure to keep your grapple in good condition. Keep it clean, dry, and free from oil and traces of grease.
