WWVB Atomic Time
The NIST radio station, WWVB, is located at Ft. Collins, Colorado and
transmits the exact time signal continuously throughout North America at 60
kHz. The signal has a range of up to 2,000 miles. Please note, due to the
nature of the Earth’s Ionosphere, reception is limited during daylight hours.
The atomic clock will search for a signal every night when reception is
better.
The clock receives the time signal via its built-in antenna and adjusts
automatically to the selected time zone. Once the correct time is set, the
clock continues running with an internal quartz-controlled mechanism.
The internal quartz-mechanism is very accurate; therefore, it does not matter
if the clock is occasionally unable to receive the time signals.
Environmental reception effects
Your atomic clock obtains the accurate time with wireless technology. As with
all wireless devices, the connection may be affected by the following
circumstances:
- Long transmitting distance
- Nearby mountains and valleys
- Among tall buildings
- Near railway, high voltage cable etc.
- Near freeway, airport, etc.
- Near construction site
- Inside concrete buildings
- Near electrical appliances
- Near computers and TV’s
- Inside moving vehicles
- Near metallic structures

Getting started
Battery Installation
- Place your clock face down on a soft, flat surface.
- Slide and remove the battery cover at the back of your unit.
- Insert 2 x new AA batteries into the battery compartment by observing the correct + and – polarity.
- Slide and replace the battery cover.
Reminder:
- Alkaline batteries are recommended for optimal usage of this clock.
- Do not mix old and new batteries.
- Do not mix alkaline, standard or rechargeable batteries.
WWVB radio-controlled time signal reception
After batteries are installed, the clock will start searching for the WWVB time signal and this will last for up to 10 minutes. Please note that during the reception, other buttons do not function until the reception is completed or stopped (by holding the + / button until the icon disappears).
If the first connection attempt fails, the clock will automatically search for
the signal again every night, on the hour from 1:00 am – 5:00. During this
time, do not press any button to ensure the best reception of the signal.
During connection, the clock does receive a temperature reading. The
temperature reading will set after your clock has been powered up for 30
minutes.

Once the clock receives the signal, the time and calendar are updated and you
can start to use the clock.
NOTE: signal reception is normally better at night and when the weather
is clear. The atomic WWVB signal generally takes a few hours to synchronize.
It is important to set the clock with the correct time zone and turn daylight
savings time on or off, according to where you live to ensure an accurate time
reading after successful WWVB signal reception.
Setting up the clock manually
When the clock is searching for the WWVB signal ( icon is flashing), you
button to stop the reception ( icon disappears) and then set the clock

Troubleshooting
If your clock displays irrelevant time or does not function properly, this may be caused by electro-static discharge or other interference. Slide open the battery cover, take out the batteries and reinstall them by observing the correct +/- polarity. Your unit will reset back to the default settings and you will need to set it again.
Care of your Product
- Place your clock on a stable surface, away from sources of direct sunlight or excessive heat or moisture.
- Protect your furniture when placing your units on a natural wood and lacquered finish by using a cloth or protective material between it and the furniture.
- Clean your unit with a soft cloth moistened only with mild soap and water. Stronger agents such as Benzine, thinner or similar materials can damage the surface of the unit.
- Do not mix old and new batteries. Do not mix alkaline, standard (carbon- zinc), or rechargeable (nickel-cadmium) batteries.
- If the unit is not to be used for a month or longer. Remove the batteries to prevent possible corrosion. Should the battery compartment become corroded or dirty, clean the compartment thoroughly and replace the batteries.
