TOSHIBA ASD-TB1-ACI PLC Processors
Installation Procedure
The Terminal Block w/120VAC input PCB assembly provides the user with the capability to use 120VAC control for the discrete inputs to the motor drive. This PCB assembly accepts 120VAC ON/OFF control logic and transforms it into an open collector output. This is accomplished by using voltage threshold detection optocoupler HCPL-3760. The optocoupler has several useful features: hysteresis for extra noise immunity, a diode bridge for use with AC inputs and internal clamping circuits to protect against over-voltage and over-current transients.
Installation
This procedure should be performed by properly trained personnel only. Lock and tagout all applicable power sources. Ensure that power has been removed from the ASD and that the Power and Charge LEDs are off.
The terminal block PCB assembly comprises the following parts:
- 52300: Terminal block PCB (Qty. 1)
- 52105: 120VAC input isolator PCB (Qty. 2)
- 50611: 4-20mA Jumper PCB (Qty. 1)
- 48576: 4-20mA signal isolation PCB (Optional: Can be used instead of 50611 for isolation of 4-20mA input and FM/AM outputs. Please contact Toshiba for details.).
ASD-TB1-ACI Installation Procedure
Remove the existing terminal block board (48570) and the jumper board (50611). Remove the jumper PCB (50611) from the ASD-TB1-ACI assembly. Install the assembly using the same mounting holes as the previous terminal block board. Replace the jumper PCB (50611).
The discrete inputs that will accept 120V AC voltage are F, R, RES, ST, S1,
S2, S3 and S4. The common neutral for all the above inputs will be connected
at terminals 9 and/or 17 on TB1. DO NOT use the CC terminals 1 & 2 on TB1 for
connecting the 120VAC signals. Note that the CC terminals are used only for
the analog control inputs.
The Nomex tape between the isolator PCBs (52105) is provided for voltage
clearance. DO NOT remove this tape.
For wiring and layout of the electrical connections external to the ASD, adhere to all applicable codes and standards. The control cabling should not be run with the power cables in the same conduit. Shielded cables are recommended for control cabling. Proper grounding methods shall be employed. No programming changes are required specifically because of using this board. For further information on the G7 ASD functions and parameters, see the G7 Adjustable Speed Drive Operation Manual (P/N 51546).
