VITEA VCBP0042 Elbow Crutches
Introduction
The elbow crutches are made of high-quality, round cross-section aluminium profiles. They are equipped with a half-elliptical forearm suspender that guarantees perfect elbow stability and the handle (hand grip), is designed to fit anatomical shape of a hand and covered with soft in touch, pleasant material that prevents corns creation and with non-skid attachment element. Both the suspender and the handle are made of PU plastics, of especially selected hardness. The adjustments of crutch length and handle height can be performed by steps 2.5 cm, by means of a friction-latch type regulator, stabilized with additional fastener.

Use
For persons who need assistance while walking, in order to suspend and move their body weight in case of injuries or orthopaedic disorders, such as fractures, strokes or paresis of lower limb, or while learning to walk.
Contraindications
Coordination disorders, balance disorders, injuries or traumas of upper
limbs that results in unavailability to use crutches.
Usage
Crutches are shipped in its minimum length (retracted). After removing from
package, crutches need to be set to the desired length (height). It is
recommended that the height of the crutch is set so that the handle levels a
greater trochanter of the thigh bone.
Safety of use
WARNING
- Crutches are intended for use indoors and outdoors, on various surface types.
- When using crutches on a surface that does not provide proper support, such as wet, icy, greasy or sandy surfaces, one should be extremely cautious.
- The crutches are designed to support weights of up to 100 kg.
- All the construction elements of the crutches are to undergo periodical visual inspection, including:
- Check of friction-latch mechanism of the crutches,
- Check of non-skid rubber foot.
- In case of any visible or sensible damages of the crutches (such as cracks), one should not use them, which may result in an injury.
- It is recommended that all the repairs where done by the qualified and experienced service personnel of the manufacturer
For the product to maintain its proper characteristics, it is extremely important to maintain all its elements clean at all times and store it properly. Prolonged storing at premises of very high humidity (saunas, laundry rooms, etc.) or outdoors, along with lack of adequate maintenance, will lead to quick loss of the initial utility and aesthetical properties.
Everyday use and maintenance
MAINTENANCE AND SERVICE:
- Aluminium profiles of the crutches are to be cleaned with a damp cloth.
- Hand grip and elbow suspender are to be cleaned with soft detergents,
- All moving elements of the crutches (friction-latch regulator) are to be removed immediately
You must not use:
- solvents,
- toilet detergents,
- sharp brushes and hard objects,
- detergents that contain chlorine,
- corrosive detergents,
Do not clean the curtch with pressure or steam aggregates!
TECHNICAL REVIEW
- The review should be carried out regularly, it should be preceded by thorough cleaning the crutches (so as to reveal any hidden damage).
