Before the First Use

Before using the device for the first time, read the operating instructions and the safety instructions carefully.
Keep the operating instructions together with the device for later use. If other people use this device, please make these instructions available to them. If you pass the device on to third parties, these instructions belong to the device and must be supplied with it.

Intended Use

This unit is designed for use as photo and video lighting only. It must not be used for other purposes and in particular not for domestic room lighting.

Explanation of Symbols

The following symbols are used in this manual, on the flash, Rollei LUMIS Tabletop Ring Light Bi-Color unit or on the packaging.

Safety Instructions

1. Only connect the product if the mains voltage of the USB input on the computer or USB power supply matches the information on the type plate on the back of the product.
2. Do not use the product if it is visibly damaged or if the cable is defective.
3. If the product or the accessories are damaged, they must be replaced or repaired by the manufacturer, its customer service or a similarly qualified person in order to avoid hazards.
4. The housing must not be opened and repairs may only be carried out by a specialist. To do this, contact a specialist workshop. In the event of repairs by the user, improper connection or incorrect operation, any liability and warranty claims are excluded.
5. Do not insert any objects into the product.
6. Do not leave the product unattended during operation.
7. Protect the product from moisture. Do not touch it with wet / damp hands and do not immerse it in water.
8. This product is not waterproof! Do not use this product in the rainor in wet areas.
9. Do not use or store the device at high or low temperatures or in closed rooms with direct sunlight. The product should not be used at ambient temperatures of more than 50°C or below -10°C.
10. Provide adequate ventilation during operation. Never cover the device.
11. Do not point the switched on product at drivers of cars, buses, bicycles, motorcyclists, or train drivers while driving. The driver can be blinded and cause an accident. This also applies to persons or groups not listed if an accident could be caused by possible glare.
12. Do not point the switched on product directly into the eyes of people or animals, as this can damage the retina, impair vision and even lead to blindness.
13. The device is not a toy. Keep the device, accessories and packaging materials away from children and pets to prevent accidents and suffocation.

Setting Up

• Fasten the monopod [3] in the matching thread on the base plate [6]

• Mount the ring light [1] on the 1/4“ screw thread [2] of the monopod [3]

• Then adjust the Rollei LUMIS Tabletop Ring Light Bi-Color to the desired height by loosening the adjustment thread [4] and pulling the segments of the mono pod [3] apart . Tighten the adjustment thread [4] again.

• Now attach the smartphone holder [6] to the upper segment of the monopod [3] by opening the clamp, placing the ring around the monopod and closing the clamp again.

• Connect the Rollei LUMIS Tabletop Ring Light Bi-Color via the USB-A connection to your computer or to a power supply unit with USB-A connection (not included in the scope of delivery; required output of the power supply unit: 5 V 2 A).
  

Note on the Operation

Please use USB power supplies with an output of 5 V 2 A (not included) to operate the Rollei LUMIS Tabletop Ring Light Bi-Color. With other USB power supplies or USB outputs on other devices (e.g. computers, laptops), error messages or automatic shutdown of the Rollei LUMIS Tabletop Ring Light Bi- Color may occur due to a deviating voltage.

Operation

• After having set up the Rollei LUMIS Tabletop Ring Light Bi-Color, you can switch the light on and off using the on / off switch [9] of the remote control on the cable of the Rollei LUMIS Tabletop Ring Light Bi-Color.
• You can set the brightness in 10 steps using the arrow buttons for brightness control [7].
• You can choose between 3 color temperatures (3,200, 4,500 and 5,500 K) with the help of the mode button.

Using the Bluetooth 23 ®* Remote Control with your Smartphone

• Activate Bluetooth® on your smartphone. Slide the switch on the Bluetooth® remote control to ”ON“. The indicator light on the Bluetooth®* remote control flashes blue.
• Connect your smartphone to the Bluetooth® remote control by selecting Bluetooth® remote control in the Bluetooth® settings on your smartphone. You can now trigger the camera of your smartphone via the Bluetooth® remote control.

Warning regarding the Battery

• Avoid contact of leaking battery fluid with skin, eyes and mucous membranes. In case of contact with battery fluid, immediately rinse the affected areas with plenty of clean water and seek medical attention immediately.
• Remove the battery from the remote control when it is used up or when you are not using the item for a longer period of time. This will prevent damage that may result from leakage.

• Observe the correct polarity (+/-) when changing the battery. An incorrectly inserted battery can damage the remote control.
• If necessary, clean battery and device contacts before inserting.
