Operation
4.1 Charging the battery (Fig. 2)
The battery charger can be used to charge a maximum of four rechargeable
batteries. By charging independently you can also charge diff erent batteries
(e.g.: 2.0 Ah; 4.0 Ah; 3.0 Ah and 5.2 Ah) for the charging times stated on the
charger. However, it is always the case that a maximum of only two
rechargeable batteries can be charged simultaneously.
- Pull the battery pack (a) out of the equipment, pressing the pushlock button (b) to do so.
- Check that your mains voltage is the same as that marked on the rating plate of the battery charger. Insert the power plug of the charger (1) into the socket outlet. The green LEDs will then begin to fl ash.
- Insert the battery pack or packs (a) into the battery charger (1).
- In section 7 „Charger indicator“ you will fi nd a table with an explanation of the LED indicator on the charger.
If the battery fails to charge, please check
- whether there is voltage at the socket outlet
- whether there is good contact at the charging contacts of the charging unit
If the battery still fails to charge, send
- the charging unit
- and the rechargeable battery to our customer service center.
To ensure that items are properly packaged and delivered when you send them to
us, please contact our customer service or the point of sale at which the
equipment was purchased. When shipping or disposing of batteries and cordless
tools, always ensure that they are packed individually in plastic bags to
prevent short circuits and fires.
To ensure that the battery pack provides long service, you should take care to
recharge it promptly. You must recharge the battery pack when you notice that
the performance of the device drops. Never allow the battery pack to become
fully discharged. This will cause it to develop a defect.
4.2 Charging four rechargeable batteries (Fig. 3)
When four batteries are inserted, only two opposite lying batteries
(parallel or diagonal) will be charged. See Fig. 3. When this pair of
batteries has been fully charged, the charging of the other pair of batteries
will start.
Which pair is charged fi rst is indicated by the yellow LEDs and is dependent
on the order in which they are inserted. When the yellow LED fl ashes, the
rechargeable battery/pair of rechargeable batteries is in the queue.
When the yellow LED is lit up, the rechargeable battery/pair of rechargeable
batteries will be charged in accordance with the red and green LEDs in section
7 entitled “Charger indicator”.
4.3 Charging two rechargeable batteries simultaneously (Figs. 4-6)
If you only want to charge two rechargeable batteries simultaneously, you can
only do so if there is one rechargeable battery on each side, as shown in Fig.
4, 5 and 6. In other words, diagonal or opposite to each other. If both
rechargeable batteries are inserted next to each other on the same side, fi rst
one and then the other will be charged. Check the yellow LEDs in this regard
(see 4.2)
Cleaning and maintenance
Always pull out the power plug before starting any cleaning work.
The equipment is not allowed to be stored in a damp location or where there
are caustic gases. Keep it in a dry place out of the reach of children.

contact your supplier or the manufacturer.
Disposal and recycling
The equipment is supplied in packaging to prevent it from being damaged in
transit. The raw materials in this packaging can be reused or recycled. The
equipment and its accessories are made of various types of material, such as
metal and plastic. Defective components must be disposed of as special waste.
Ask your dealer or your local council.
For EU countries only
Never place any electric power tools in your household refuse.
To comply with European Directive 2012/19/EC concerning old electric and
electronic equipment and its implementation in national laws, old electric
power tools have to be separated from other waste and disposed of in an
environment-friendly fashion, e.g. by taking to a recycling depot.
Recycling alternative to the return request: As an alternative to returning
the equipment to the manufacturer, the owner of the electrical equipment must
make sure that the equipment is properly disposed of if he no longer wants to
keep the equipment. The old equipment can be returned to a suitable collection
point that will dispose of the equipment in accordance with the national
recycling and waste disposal regulations. This does not apply to any
accessories or aids without electrical components supplied with the old
equipment.
