Racold renewable water heating solutions are available in Evacuated Tube
Collectors and Flat Plate Collectors.
Evacuated Tube Collector (ETC)
The Evacuated Tube Collector consists of a number of rows of parallel
transparent glass tubes connected to a header pipe,which is connected to a
tank. These glass tubes are cylindrical in shape and more efficient as it
extracts heat even in low sunlight conditions.
Flat Plate Collector (FPC)
Ina Flat Plate Collector, sunlight passes through the outer glass plate
covering and strikes the absorber plate, which heats up, converting solar
energy into heat energy. Thus the heat is transferred to water passing through
pipes attached to the absorber plate by means of convective heat transfer.Flat
plate collectors are long-lasting and cheaper in the long run.

HOW DOES IT WORK
Natural Circulation
Suitable for domestic applications where hot water requirements are limited
and maintaining exact temperature is not imperative. It operates on the
principle that hot water has lower density than cold water and thus has a
tendency to rise. Due to this natural phenomenon, the water circulates from
the solar collector to the inner container by natural convection. This is
available with both Evacuated Tube and Flat Plate Collectors.
Forced Circulation
This system has greater control on water and temperature output and is thus ideal for commercial and industrial establishments where hot water consumption is high. Here, water is pumped from the collector to the inner container once it achieves the set temperature. This is available with both Evacuated Tube and Flat Plate Collectors.
Indirect Heating Type
Ideally suited for hard water areas, this system has provision for a heat exchanger. Solar radiation heats the thermic fluid in the collector and once it achieves the set temperature, it is pumped from the collector to the heat exchanger. This heat is transferred to the utility water through this heat exchanger.
