GENERAL ADVISE

  • This appliance is destined only to the heating of domestic or similar environments, and is only to be used fastened to a wall in compliance with these instructions. It can be considered only a supplementary source of heating and not as a central heating element. The appliance must not be used in dusty environments or in the presence of extremely volatile materials which could obstruct grids or heat exchanger, nor in very damp environments, in the presence of inflammable products, or out of doors in the open. Any other use is to be considered inappropriate and therefore dangerous. The manufacturer cannot be held responsible for eventual damage caused by inappropriate, improper or irresponsible use and/or for repairs made to the product by unauthorised personnel.
    This appliance is intended to be used in household and similar applications such as:

    • staff kitchen in shops, offices and other working environments;
    • farm houses
    • by clients in hotels, motels and other residential type environments
    • bed and breakfast type environments
  • The appliance gets hot when working; so only touch the stiches. Avoid touching the grid and front glass since it becomes very hot. Do not insert fingers and/or any object through the front grid, in order to prevent abrasions, electric shocks or damage to the appliance.

  • Attach and use the device only with the components supplied, not to compromise the safety of use. Periodically check the good condition of the appliance and components (glass, wall bracket, etc..): When in doubt, consult an authorized service center and ensure that the parts supplied are original.

  • Ensure that the appliance does not come into contact with water or other liquids. If this should happen, never immerse hands in the liquid but remove the plug from the socket first of all. Dry the appliance carefully and check that all the electric parts are dry. If in doubt, call a qualified expert.

  • If the appliance should fall over or shows signs of faulty operation, disconnect the electrical cable immediately. Check that no part is damaged and switch it on after the appliance has been thoroughly checked: in case of doubt, contact qualified professional personnel.

  • Attention : when using electric appliances, the basic safety precautions must always be observed to avoid risks of fire, electric shocks and physical injury.

  • Children of less than 3 years should be kept away unless continuously supervised. Children aged from 3 years and less than 8 years shall only switch on/off the appliance provided that it has been placed or installed in its intended normal operating position and they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved. Children aged from 3 years and less than 8 years shall not plug in, regulate and clean the appliance or perform user maintenance.

  • CAUTION : Some parts of this product can become very hot and cause burns. Particular attention has to be given where children and vulnerable people are present.

  • This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and if they understand the hazards involved. Children shall not play with the appliance. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children without supervision.

  • Do not use this heater in small rooms when they are occupied by person not capable of leaving the room on their own, unless constant supervision is provided.

  • Caution : During operation any glare and / or bright reflections are normal due to the effect flame.

  • The protection system (grids) of this heating device has been designed to prevent direct access to the heating elements and must be maintained in its position during use of the apparatus heating. The protection system does not guarantee full protection to children and the infirm.

  • Do not move the appliance when it is in function.

  • Do not use the appliance if it is not operating correctly or seems damaged; if in doubt, contact professionally qualified personnel.

  • Do not use this heater in the immediate surrounding of a bath, a shower or a swimming pool.

  • Unplug the appliance when not in use.

  • The fireguard of this heater is intended to prevent direct access to heating elements and must be in place when the heater is in use, but the fireguard does not give full protection for young children and for infirm person.

  • That the user must not leave the appliance unattended while it is connected to the supply.

  • Do not touch the heater with wet hands or feet.

  • Never use the radiator to dry damp garments.

  • Do not expose the heater to the weather (sun, rain, etc.).

  • Do not pull on the power cord or the appliance to unplug the appliance from the wall socket. Never move the appliance by pulling the cord.

  • If the electric cord is damaged, it has to be replaced by the supplier or an authorized service center or a professionally qualified, to avoid any risks.

  • The appliance must not be positioned immediately under a socket.

  • Do not use the appliance with a timer or a programmer or with a system that can switch on the appliance automatically, to avoid risk of fire, since a fire risk exists if the heater is covered or positioned incorrectly. Check that no other high absorption appliances are connected to the same power source.

  • Do not use this heater the immediate surroundings of a bath, a shower or a swimming pool.

  • The heater must not be located immediately below a socket-oulet.

  • If the suppy cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent or a similarly qualified person in order to avoid hazard.

INSTALLATION

  • After removing the packaging very carefully (be very careful when removing the glass), check the integrity of the heater; if you are unsure, do not use it and ask for qualified professional help. The packing materials (plastic bags, polystyrene foam, nails, etc.) must be kept out the reach of children because they are potential sources of danger. If the glass is protected with adhesive film, this must be removed. All packaging elements must be disposed of according to their raw material (see the symbol stamped on each one) and according to the provisions of their municipality. The bag containing the set with brackets and fixing screws or the remote control, which is unmarked due to its small size, is made of polyethylene; therefore you have to follow the procedures for the disposal of this type of plastic.
  • Before connecting the appliance, check that the voltage shown on the data plate matches that of your electricity, and that the electric plug is grounded. In the event of incompatibility between the electric outlet and the plug of the heater, have the outlet replaced with another more suitable type by professionally qualified personnel, who will make sure that the section of the wires of the outlet is appropriate for the absorbed power of the heater (10A). In general, the use of adapters or extension cords is not recommended; if their use is indispensable, they must conform to existing safety standards and their current capacity (amperes) must not be less that the maximum of the heater.
  • The power socket must be easy to reach so the plug can be removed quickly in case of emergency.
  • Position the appliance far from other sources of heat, inflammable materials (curtains, carpets, etc.), inflammable gases or explosive materials (spray cans) and from materials that can deform on exposure to heat.
  • Do not use this heater in the immediate surroundings of a bath, a shower or a swimming pool. (to avoid drops of water falling on the heater or the heater falling in the water), or in places where it could be subject to shocks; the appliance should not be placed under or near windows.
  • The appliance should only be used fastened to a wall with a flat surface free of rough spots, stable and resistant to heat.
  • The installation kit consists of: – no. 1 metal bracket, no. 6 anchors, no. 6 (40×4 mm) screws, no. 1 flange and no. 2 (10×4 mm) screws. We recommend that you put all the installation parts in a container in a safe place, to avoid losing parts, but also to make sure that children do not play with small parts. The electric fireplace should only be mounted using the mounting kit supplied.
  • The wall to which the appliance is fastened must be made of bricks and/or heat-resistant material (not wood or easily-overheatable synthetic material); first check to see if pipes (water, gas, etc.) or electrical cables are embedded in the area you will use for mounting the brackets; also follow these directions for installation (see figure).
  • The “minimum” free space to be respected in the installation (referring to the glass): 600 mm from the floor, 1000 mm from the ceiling and 500 mm from the sides.
  • Fasten the bracket to the wall horizontally (the projection must be at the top), drill no. 5 holes in the wall (before drilling holes is a good idea to measure the centre-to-centre distance between the holes), insert the anchors and fasten the bracket with the screws provided. After fastening, make sure that the bracket is secure enough to support the weight of the fireplace.
  • Fasten the flange to the bottom (Figure 3) of the chimney using the two screws provided.
  • Hang the appliance on the bracket, hooking the projection of the bracket with the one on the back of the structure.
  • Make sure that the bracket and appliance are centred on the wall and mark 2 holes for fastening the flange; remove the structure, drill 2 holes, insert the anchors, hook the structure to the bracket and tighten the flange to the wall with the screws supplied.
  • Your fireplace can be set-up with either stones or logs (resin) by placing them inside the structure (see figure).
  • To position the front glass on the structure (it is good idea to have someone help you), align and match the 4 slots of the glass with the 4 side hooks of the structure. After assembly, make sure that the glass is correctly positioned and hooked to the frame, to prevent falling; in case of doubt, consult a qualified professional.
  • Make sure the cord is positioned correctly and that it is not touching hot parts or sharp edges, or wrapped around the appliance or coiled around itself and will not get caught, in order to avoid the appliance falling. Make sure that no one can trip, to avoid accidental falls or personal injury. Also check that the cord is not under carpets.

  • Make sure that the heating element is free from dust, lint, or anything similar: it improves the yield of the fireplace and prevents overheating. Periodically check that the air output grille is not obstructed by objects, fabrics, etc., to prevent the appliance overheating or failing.

USE

To operate the appliance, insert the plug into the socket. The appliance has the following control and adjustment elements:

  • Power On/Off
  • Use the O / I switch to turn the appliance on in stand-by mode, or to turn it off.
  • In the stand-by mode, the appliance can be operated manually, using the switches located at the top and on the right side of the heater, or through the supplied remote control.

Manual operation

Note : the heater comes into operation only if the set temperature is higher than the room temperature.

  • Power Off (OFF)
  • Device on (ON), and in stand-by Mode
  • Press to activate / deactivate the flame effect
  • Press and hold to toggle among 5 different flame level levels
  • Press to activate 1000W heating; the symbol will appear on the display
  • Press to activate 2000W heating, the symbols will appear on the display

Operation by remote control

NOTE : The heater must be turned on using the O / I switch before it can be operated via the remote control.

  • The remote control requires 2 “AAA”/(LR03. 1,5V) batteries (not included).
  • Open the battery compartment by sliding the cover down and insert the batteries observing the polarity indicated in the battery compartment.
  • Keep the batteries out of the reach of children.
  • The operations of the remote control are the same as the functions of the control panel.
  • The remote control must be pointed frontally (maximum distance of about 4m) towards the display (top right).

We recommend replacing all batteries at the same time. Do not mix old and new batteries. For long periods of inactivity of the remote control remove the batteries. Remote control “DRIMMER” button (8): when pressed it adjusts the brightness of the flame (intensity: 1-5), and the selected status appears on the display (D).

Day / hour / minute setting
Synchronize the clock of the device with the local time, proceeding as follows:

  • Press the DAY/TIME button “14”, and when the day flashes press the button “2” ▲ or ” 5” ▼ to select the day.
  • Press the DAY/TIME button again, then press the “4” “13” to set the time.
  • Press the DAY/TIME button again, then press the + OR – button to set the minutes.
  • Press the OK button to confirm the setting.

Temperature adjustment

Note : the ambient temperature is adjustable through the remote control, while it’s not adjustable in the “manual” mode. The default temperature is 20°C.
Note : the heating comes into operation only when the set temperature is higher than the room temperature.

  • Press the + or – button to set the temperature, which value is included between 15 and 30 °C.
  • Once the temperature setting is finished, the display with the value flashes for about 5 seconds; after that it shows the ambient temperature.

Weekly schedule setting (Timer)

  1. It’s possible to schedule up to 10 different time intervals.
  2. Each interval has its own day, switching-on and switching-off time.
  3. The maximum duration of each interval is 23 hours and 50 minutes.
  4. If the switching-off time of the interval falls on the next day, it’s not necessary to set the day, just set the switching-off time.
  5. Press the TIMER SET “3” button, and the interval number will start flashing (01-10).
  6. Press the + or – button to select an interval.
  7. Press the TIMER SET button, and the cursor to the left of the day will start flashing.
  8. Press button to move the cursor to the corresponding day. Press the + button to add a corresponding day or press the – button to delete a day.
  9. Press the TIMER SET button to set the power on time (ON symbol activated). The time parameter will start flashing.
  10. Press the + or button to set the time.
  11. Press the TIMER SET button and the minute digit will start flashing.
  12. Press the + or button to set the minutes.
  13. Press the TIMER SET button to set the switch-off time (OFF symbol lit). The hour digit will start flashing.
  14. Press the + or button to set the time.
  15.  Press the TIMER SET button and the minutes digit will start flashing.
  16. Press the + or button to set the minutes.
  17. Press the TIMER SET button and the temperature digit will start flashing.
  18. Press the + or – button to set the temperature.
  19. Press the TIMER SET button to continue with the interval setting or press the OK button to confirm the setting. To set the programming for the whole week, repeat the previous steps.

Display of the interval setting

  • Press the TIMER SET button.
  • Press the + or – button to check the switch-on time of the set intervals one by one.
  • To check the switching-off time, press the ▲ button.
  • Press the + or – button to check the switching-off time of the set intervals one by one.
  • To delete the selected setting, press the C button.

Activating the weekly schedule (Timer)
Press the TIMER ON / OFF button to activate (symbol “ ” on the display remains lit) or disable the Timer function.

NOTE : When the timer is active, the heating level (1000W or 2000W) must be selected manually: if the heater function is not selected, only the flame effect will be activated at the set ignition time.

Automatic heating mode
Press the IC button (11) to activate the automatic heating mode. The AUTO icon (A) will appear on the display. When it’s activated, the heating level automatically changes according to the set temperature difference and the ambient temperature difference.

First use
Run the appliance at the maximum power (2000W) as described above, to eliminate the “new” smell and / or any residual oils that could emit smoke; during or after this operation, it’s advisable to air-out the environment. Select the desired functions described above. To turn off the appliance, press the main switch to position “0″, and remove the plug from the power outlet.

For long periods of inactivity, remove the plug from the socket.
The appliance as a device to prevent overheating: if the temperature exceeds a certain value, it automatically stops operation. Turn off the main switch 0/I, remove the plug from the wall socket, make sure the air output grille and the heating element are free of dust, lint, or anything else. Let the appliance cool (for about 15 minutes). Insert the plug in the outlet, turn on the main switch and select the desired features; if it doesn’t start or in case of doubt, consult a qualified professional.

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

Attention : before cleaning the appliance, turn it off, remove the plug from the outlet and wait for it to cool.

  • Periodically check that the air-intake grill is not obstructed by fuzz or threads.
  • Use a soft, slightly damp cloth to clean the body and front glass; do not use metal scouring pads or abrasive products, in particular for cleaning the glass, we recommend only using specific products for cleaning glass.
  • Replacing the power cord requires a special tool: contact an authorized service centre, also for any repairs.
  • warranty does not cover parts that are defective due to failure to follow the installation, use or maintenance instructions or shipping damage. Also excluded are the replacement or repair of all parts subject to normal wear in addition to the removable parts (glass), the flame effect lamps, and set-up accessories (resin logs or stones).
  • A special tool is required to replace the lamp LED that produces the flame effect: contact an authorized service center, also for any repairs.
  • If you decide not to use the fan heater, we recommend that you make it inoperative by cutting the power cord (but first make sure you have removed the plug from the electrical outlet), and make those parts harmless that are dangerous when played with by children.
  • The batteries of the remote control must be disposed of in the appropriate containers; dispose of them in compliance with current law.
