This symbol tells you to read these instructions carefully before using the appliance, and to inform any third parties if necessary. SAFETY NOTICES

  • This appliance is only intended for heating domestic and similar interiors in accordance with these instructions; moreover, the fan heater should be considered as a supplementary heat source and not as a central heating system.

  • This fan heater is a radio device which intentionally emits and/or receives radio waves for radiocommunication and/or radiodetermination purposes.
    Examples of household appliances are appliances for typical household functions, those used in the home, or those which may be used for typical household functions even by untrained persons:

    • in shops, offices and other similar workplaces;
    • on farms and in similar locations;
    • by the customers of hotels, motels and other residential environments;
    • in bed and breakfast establishments.
      The appliance must not be used in dusty environments or those containing particularly volatile materials (they may obstruct the grilles), in very damp locations, in the presence of flammable products, or outdoors. Any other use constitutes misuse and is hazardous. The manufacturer cannot be held liable for any damage arising from misuse or incorrect or irresponsible use, and/or from repairs carried out by unqualified persons.
      The fan heater becomes hot when in operation; only touch the buttons and the plastic handle. Do not touch the grille on the front as it is very hot. Never insert fingers and/or any object through the front grille, as this may cause grazes, electric shock or damage to the appliance.
  • The protective grille does not provide complete protection for children or those with impaired physical, sensory or mental capacities.
    WARNING!

    • Parts of this product may become very hot and cause burns. Special care must be taken in the presence of children or vulnerable individuals.
    • Warning: when using electrical appliances, always comply with the basic safety precautions to avoid the risks of fire, electric shock and physical injury.
    • Never use this appliance in a room with floor area of less than 4m².
  • This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience or the necessary knowledge providing they are supervised or have been instructed on the safe use of the appliance and understand the hazards involved. Children must not play with the appliance. Cleaning and maintenance intended to be carried out by the user should not be done by children unless they are supervised.

  • Children of less than 3 years of age must be kept at a safe distance unless continually supervised. Children between 3 and 8 years of age must only switch the appliance on/off if it has been placed or installed in its normal operating position and they are supervised or instructed regarding the safe use of the appliance and understand its dangers. Children between 3 and 8 years of age must not connect the plug, adjust or clean the appliance, or maintain or service it.

  • Check that the fan heater does not come into contact with water or other liquids. If it is accidentally wet or immersed in a liquid, first disconnect the power supply by turning off the control panel switch, and only then remove the plug from the power socket. Dry both the plug and the power socket carefully before reactivating the power socket. Reconnect the plug to the power socket and then use the appliance. If in doubt, call in qualified staff.

  • The appliance must not be placed just below a power socket.

  • The power socket must be easily accessible so that the plug can be removed easily in an emergency.

  • Do not use this appliance in the immediate vicinity of a bathtub, a shower, a swimming-pool, washbasins, etc.

  • If the power cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer or its aftersales service, or by a person with similar qualifications, to prevent all risks.

  • This appliance is not intended for operation by means of an external timer or with a separate remote control system, to avoid the risk of fire if the appliance is covered or not correctly positioned. Ensure that there are no other appliances drawing large amounts of power on the same electrical line.

  • To avoid all risk of electric shock, never immerse the plug, the power cord or the appliance in water or any other liquid.

  • Unplug the appliance from the socket when not in use.

  • Do not touch the appliance with wet hands or feet.

  • Never move the appliance when in operation.

  • Never leave the device exposed to the weather (sun, rain, etc.).

  • If the appliance is dropped or malfunctions, disconnect the power cord at once. Check all parts for damage and do not switch it on unless certain it is intact: if in doubt, call in qualified staff.

  • Do not pull on the power cable or the appliance itself to remove the plug from the power socket.

  • Do not move the appliance by pulling the cable.

  • Ensure that the heating element is free from dust, fluff or other materials: this improves the fan heater’s efficiency and prevents the appliance from overheating. Check regularly that the intake grille is not obstructed by objects, fabrics or other items, which might cause the appliance to overheat or fail.

INSTALLATION

  • After removing the packaging, check that the appliance is intact; if in doubt, do not use it and call in qualified staff. Packaging components (plastic bags, expanded polystyrene, nails, etc.) must not be left within reach of children since they are potentially hazardous.
  • Before connecting the appliance, check that the voltage values marked on the nameplate are the same as those of the electrical mains, and that the power socket is properly earthed. If the appliance’s plug is not compatible with the socket, have the socket replaced with another of suitable type by qualified staff, who must ensure that the socket’s wire gauge is suitable for the appliance’s power draw (10A) Check that there are no other appliances drawing large amounts of power on the electrical line, to avoid overloads and fire risks. In general, the use of adapters and/or extension leads is not recommended; if their use is unavoidable, they must comply with current safety regulations and their current rating (amps) must be no lower than the maximum current draw of the appliance.
  • Before each use, check that the appliance is in good condition and ensure that the power cord is not damaged and do not switch it on unless certain it is intact: if in doubt, call in qualified staff.
  • Make sure that the cable is correctly positioned and is not in contact with hot parts or sharp edges, or wound around the appliance or twisted, and does not become entangled, to prevent the appliance from falling.
  • Do not hang the appliance on or even place it next to a wall.
  •  Place the fan heater well away from other heat sources, flammable materials (curtains, upholstery, etc.), flammable gases or explosive materials (spray cans) and materials which may warp in heat. Ensure that gaps of at least 120 cm in front of the fan heater and 50 cm at its sides and rear are left.
  • The supporting surface must be stable, large (shelves are not acceptable), not sloping (as the appliance might tip over), smooth and heat-proof.

DESCRIPTION

Smart bowl, usable via Smartphone using an app with Android or iOS operating systems.

  • Electronics with integral wi-fi allowing Smartphone-fan heater communication via an App.
  • All functions are adjustable via APP: mode (stand-by/Ventilation/Low/High/Auto); Left/Right swing; Temperature setting 16-40°C; Timer 0-12h and Weekly programming.
  • Check that the router is for domestic use, that there are no access restrictions except the password, that the Wi-Fi network is 2.4 GHz, and that there is a strong, uniform Wi-Fi signal in the room where the device is to be installed.
  • Make sure that the smartphone is connected to the wi-fi network to be used for the appliance.

First Installation/Setup

  • Install the “BIMAR life Smart” App via Google Play (Android) or AppStore (iOS), or scan the QR code provided here.

  • Once installed, the app icon appears.
    Click the “Bimar Live Smart” icon to run the app.

  • At the first access, register and fill in your credentials:

    • click on “Create a new account”, confirm “I agree” for the data relating to the Privacy Policy (by pressing: ” ” the text of the informative report pursuant to Article 13 of the 2016/679 European Regulation appears, while by selecting “User Agreement” the Bimar srl Service Agreement appears)
    • enter your email address (select the desired country)
    • click on the writing “Get the verification code”, wait for a few seconds and then enter the code receivedi n the “Verification code” part using your registration email address (possibly also check the Junk e-mail folder, if you don’t receive it in the inbox folder).
  • Enter your personalized password and click “Done”.
    If the procedure is carried out correctly, the control panel screen for using the application appears.

  • Pairing the device with your smartphone
    Insert the plug into the socket, press the 0 / I switch (on the back) in the “I” position (you will hear a “Beep”). Press the button “ ”for about five seconds: you will hear a “Beep”  and the “°C” symbol on the display will flash quickly; release the button

  • Opening the APP on your smartphone: on the first screen click “ADD DEVICE” or click on ” ” in options, at the top right.

  • On the next screen, click on the writing “ ”.

  • “Set up Wi-Fi”: enter: NAME and PASSWORD your Wi-Fi network, and click on the “next” symbol to activate the connection.

  • On the next screen: click on the writing “Confirm” to activate, then the LED will flash quickly; after this press on the “Next” symbol.

  • The countdown will start: Scanning devices ⇒ Register the device on Cloud ⇒ Start the device that stops when the connection between your device and the smartphone has occurred ⇒ End. bimar-BHN2010R-1-PTC-Fan-Heater-1

It is also possible to pair the device through the “AP Mode”, press the key at the top right, hold the ” ” key on the control panel until the “° C” light on the display flashes quickly, open the phone WI-FI settings and connect to the network “Bimar Live Smart xxx” or “Smart Life xxx” and then press “connect now”.

If the operations described above do not proceed correctly, it’s necessary to reset the device, operating as follows: remove the plug from the socket and leave the fan heater disconnected for 30 seconds. Re-insert the plug into the power socket of the fan heater, press the switch “ ” (located at the rear) in position I. Press the ” five seconds, you will hear a “Beep” and the “° C” indicator on the display will flash quickly, then release it.

**Settings and customisations

**

Open the smartphone screen and press in the bottom right corner to customise the following functions: Home management, Message centre, Assistance centre, Configure, In-APP purchases.

  • Press in the bottom centre to customise operation of the device to suit the various scenarios or operating situations provided by the APP (for example: Back home, Leaving home, Dawn, Goodnight, Temperature, Humidity, Weather, Air quality, Dawn/dusk) or in combination with other devices.
  • Press in the bottom left corner and then in the top of the screen, for example: to customise (update and/or change where permitted) the appliance’s position or the outdoor wind speed, air pressure, humidity and temperature (see right).
  • Press to buy directly on Bimar App.
  • Press top right to customise the following: Change Device name, Device position, Check Network, Third-party devices supported: Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant, Device sharing,

Create a Comment group, Device Info, Feedback, Update Firmware, Remove device, Reset to factory settings. The smartphone must be connected to Wi-Fi or cellular data network for remote control. Voice control The device is compatible with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant voice controls. Open the corresponding App/connect the Skill (make sure that the account and password used are the same as those of the “Bimar Live Smart” app) and follow the settings.

Google Home: some basic vocal commands are:

  • OK Google” or “Hey Google”, turn on XX (name of the device)
  • OK Google” or “Hey Google”, turn off XX (name of the device)
  •  etc.

Amazon Alexa: some basic vocal commands are:

  • Alexa”, turn on XX (name of the device)
  • Alexa”, turn off XX (name of the device)
  • etc.

The functions of the fan are activated: through the application, through the control panel keyboard, and through the remote control which must be pointed frontally (maximum distance of about 5m) towards the control panel; when using for the first time, remove the transparent plastic tab from the battery seat. To replace the battery (type: CR2025 / 3 Volts), move the tab towards the “PUSH” centre (use a small screwdriver) and at the same time remove the battery holder, replace the battery (respecting the polarity) and close the battery holder. For long periods of inactivity of the remote control remove the battery.

The device has the following management and control elements:

  • Main switch (I / 0), located in the rear: in position “I” the appliance remains in stand-by (“°C” indicator light on the display flashes), in position ” 0 ” the device is deactivated.
  • Key “ ”: starts the ventilation and activates the other functions (the room temperature  appears on the display) or puts the appliance in stand-by. If pressed for five seconds, the device is reset (see details on previous pages).
  • Keys and “ ” and “ ”: adjust the room temperature (15-40 ° C); pressing the key “ ”it increases, pressing the key “ ”it decreases.
  • “Mode” key of the application and the remote control, ” ” key on the control panel, select:
    • Eco (1000W), comfortable heat: the symbol “
    • Rapid (2000W), immediate heat: appears on the display “
    • “Auto” function (activated only through the remote control and through the application on the Smartphone): when the set temperature is ≥ 2 degrees with respect to the room temperature, the “Eco” function is activated, while if the set temperature is ≥ 4 degrees with respect to the room temperature the “Rapid” function is activated; if the difference is ≥ 1 degree, only the ventilation works.
  • “TIMER” button; the operating time, at the end of which the appliance stops. Each time the button is pressed, the time varies (from 1h up to 12h with 1h intervals), and the selected time lights up on the control panel. To deactivate the timer, press the button until all the times switch off (0 0).
  • “SWING” key, activates the right-left oscillation: the symbol ” ” / (APP screen ) appears on the display; press the button once to activate, and then once to switch off.
  • Weekly programmer (activated only via the App, in: Programmer ⇒ Settings ⇒ Add) sets: the on / off periods of each day of the week and the temperature; customizes the name of the schedule and turns notifications on or off.
  • To activate the programming, select: the time (hours and minutes) ⇒ Repeat (days of the week that can be repeated or Only once) ⇒ Name of the program ⇒ Notification ⇒ switched on=ON or switched off =Off) ⇒ Temperature (15-40)°C ⇒ Save to confirm the function.
  • Switching the Display on and off (activated only via the APP, in Display ⇒ Settings), to turn off the Display press the “Display” button on the application, to turn on the Display press the button again.
  • During operation, if no function is changed for about 5 consecutive minutes, the display switches off, press a button to switch the display back on.
  • Memory: if the appliance is turned off (side switch in position 0) and the plug is removed from the socket or there is a power failure, or the anti-tip switch is activated, the settings are stored. At the next start-up, when the device is in Stand-By, press the “ ” button to switch on the device and the previously selected settings (Mode, Temperature, Right-Left Oscillation) will start.
  • Anti-tip over switch: interrupts operation in the event of a tip over.
  • Safety device, it stops the function in use in case of overheating: to reset, remove the plug from the socket, wait for it to cool down (about 10/20 minutes), insert the plug into the socket and turn it on again.

First use
Operate the appliance using the program described below, to eliminate “the new smell” and / or any residual oils that could emit smoke. Insert the plug into the socket, run the appliance for 10/15 minutes at maximum power (Rapid): during or after this operation, it is advisable to ventilate the room. After the cycle is over, disconnect the plug from the power outlet.

Use

  • Insert the plug into the power outlet: Press the main switch in position “I” (you will hear a “Beep”) and the appliance goes into stand-by and the “° C” light on the display comes on.
  • Press the button “ ” “to activate the device and select the desired functions.
  • To deactivate the appliance, press the “ ” button, the fan will run for about 30  seconds (the time will count down) to completely cool the appliance (if Eco / Rapid / Auto have been selected), then adjust the 0 / I switch in position 0 and remove the plug from the socket.

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

Warning: before cleaning the appliance, remove the plug from the power socket and wait for it to cool.

  • To ensure proper operation of the appliance, periodically check that the rear ventilation grille is not blocked by fluff or threads: this should be done after removing the plug from the mains; If necessary, use a vacuum cleaner, taking care not to damage the element.
  • Clean the body of the device with a soft, damp cloth: do not use metal scouring pads or abrasive products.
  • If the fan heater is to be out of use for a long period of time, cover it and store it in a dry place. It is best to return it to its original packaging to protect it from dust and damp.
  • Do not immerse the appliance in water or any other liquid and do not wash it under running water or in a dishwasher.
  • If you decide not to use the appliance any more, it must be rendered unusable by cutting off the power supply cord (first making sure that the plug has been removed from the power socket), and any parts which are hazardous if used as children’s playthings must be rendered harmless.

Information for correct disposal of the product under the European Directive directive 2011/65/EU.
At the end of its lifetime, the product must not be disposed of with ordinary urban waste. It can be consigned to the special waste recycling centres provided by local government, or by the retailers who provide this service.
Proper disposal of a household appliance prevents possible detrimental effects on the environment or health arising from its incorrect disposal and allows the recovery of its constituent materials, generating major savings of energy and resources. The product bears the crossed-out symbol of a wheeled rubbish bin to indicate that it must be disposed of separately. Illegal dumping of the product by the user will be subject to prosecution under the relevant law.
