General
Qualified ALTINEX service personnel must perform all service.
Handling
- Place in a dry area away from dust and moisture.
- To prevent fire or shock, do not expose this unit to water or moisture. Do not place in direct sunlight, near heaters, or heat-radiating appliances, or near any liquid. Exposure to direct sunlight, smoke, or steam can harm internal components.
- Handle the unit carefully. Dropping or jarring can cause damage.
- Do not pull any cables that are attached to the CN5008US.
- Do not place heavy objects on top of the CN5008US.
Cleaning
- Unplug the CN5008US before cleaning.
- Clean only with a dry cloth. Never use strong detergents or solvents such as alcohol or thinner. Do not use a wet cloth or water to clean the unit. Do not open the unit to clean.

Installation Procedures
The CN5008US can be installed inside a Cable-Nook or into furniture
horizontally or vertically as shown. Typically, furniture units are installed
in a tabletop, but can be installed inside a desk or podium.

Locate the best position for the CN5008US.

If installing in furniture, prepare the cutout for the table.
Warning:
ALTINEX recommends using an experienced professional to make the table cutout to ensure accuracy and to be aesthetically pleasing. -
Install the CN5008US into the Cable-Nook opening or tabletop.
Tabletop:
Route the power cord down through the opening in the tabletop. Fasten the CN5008US to the surface using the appropriate screws.
Cable-Nook:
Route the power cord down through the opening in the Cable-Nook. Fasten the CN5008US to the surface using the 4 screws provided with the unit. The CN5008US requires 6 hole-sets of the 23 total hole sets available in the Cable-Nook.

- Dimension does NOT include power cord or strain relief outside of enclosure. Strain relief extends approximately 1.1 in (28 mm) outside edge of enclosure and does not include bend radius of power cord.

The ALTINEX CN5008US Dual AC Power Module is designed for use inside ALTINEX’s
Cable-Nook series of interconnect boxes but can also be installed directly
into furniture. The Cable-Nook is designed for boardrooms and conference rooms
where it provides a simple and effective means of hiding/storing multimedia
cables and connectors. The cables remain connected to a presentation system
enabling the user to access connections to video, audio, and other media
sources. The modular Cable-Nook uses a half-moon lid that remains flush with
the table when not in use. The CN5008US module provides safe, ample AC power
for users to power laptops, projectors, or other presentation equipment. To
access the CN5008US power module inside the Cable-Nook, simply lift the door
and plug in to the AC receptacles the same as any other AC power outlet. The
lid closes easily even with several cables in use.
