Install
Tip: Go to https://kodlinusa.com/tech-guide/#installation-guide for examples of how to wire for your type of
taillight setup.
- Determine the length of wire required for LED install and trim LED wiring and install kit wiring per your length requirements. The longer wire group, channel 2, routes to the left side of the fender.
- Trim approximately ¼” of insulation from wire tips and install wire thru the center of the posi-lock screw-on end piece.
Tip: I usually leave 1/16” of wire sticking past the inside of the screw- on tip to insert into a centerpiece of the post-lock. Make sure no bare wire is visible past the outer edge of the post-lock. Picture 1.
Wrap or dress your wires as needed and install the fender strut back onto the fender for both sides. Install rear fender assembly. Connect your connectors and verify your wire routing is free from any moving parts and that you have enough length to plug back into the main harness. Picture 2. Start out with Dip Switches all set to “ON” or P setting. Settings K-P seem to work well with HD Can-Bus. I usually set both channels to the same Ohm level settings, but you can set DIP switches 1-4 on one Ohm value and Dip Switches 5-8 on another since 1-4 is for channel 1 and 5-8 is for channel 2. Picture 3 and 4. Connect your battery and test to make sure there are no hyper flashing or DTC error codes. Increase the Ohm value with Dip Switches if so and test again until you have no more issues. Make sure to clear your DTC codes when finished. Verify all your bolts are torqued properly and go ride.
