Installation Instructions for 14+ Touring Rear Harness KUS11502
A FACTORY SERVICE MANUAL WILL BE HELPFUL IN PERFORMING THIS INSTALLATION.
DO NOT ATTEMPT TO PERFORM THIS INSTALLATION IF YOU ARE NOT CONFIDENT IN YOUR
ABILITY TO COMPLETE ALL OF THE STEPS IN THE PROCEDURE; CONSULT A TRAINED
TECHNICIAN. IMPROPER INSTALLATION COULD RESULT IN SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH.
This harness provides an easy way to install Kodlin Sleek lights or
aftermarket LEDs without cutting up OEM rear fender harness. Provides
dedicated voltage source for LED run, brake and turn lights as well as Kodlin
license plate kits. BCM reconfiguration (set to dedicated brake light) will be
required for Amber colored turn signals.

Disconnect battery ground wire.

Unplug rear fender harness from 6 pin connectors under the left side of the seat area. See picture #1.

The Kodlin harnesses will plug in-line between the stock connectors. The area behind the battery is a good place for storing added connectors. ECM tray will need to be removed for access.

Wire bundle with brown wire goes to right side and bundle with violet wire and additional extension is for the left side. From behind battery run them along fender struts on each side using zip ties to hold in place. See pictures 2 and 3.

The additional wire bundle can be run along, and zip tied to existing OEM wire bundle going to rear facia light. It provides low amperage power for accessory, stop, run, left turn, right turn for Kodlin License Frame kits or other custom needs. See pictures 4 and 5.
NOTE: Harness has been designed to work with BCM set to “Dedicated Taillight” with no modifications required. Option B with no BCM reconfiguration will require four wires to be moved/modified. -
Connect accordingly.
a. For reconfigured BCM Setting set to “Dedicated Taillight”. Will have amber colored turn signals.
i. Right Side (LED with connectors simply plug-in)
1. Blue harness wire to LED Yellow wire for running light.
2. Brown harness wire to LED Brown wire for right turn light.
3. Red harness wire to LED Red wire for brake light.
4. Black harness wire to LED Black wire for ground.
ii. Left Side (LED with connectors simply plug-in)
1. Blue harness wire to LED Yellow wire for running light.
2. Violet harness wire to LED Violet wire for left turn light.
3. Red harness wire to LED Red wire for brake light.
4. Black harness wire to LED Black wire for ground.
b. For stock BCM Setting set to “Turn signals only”. Will have red colored turn signals.
i. Right Side
1. Blue harness wire to LED Yellow wire for running light.
2. Remove brown wire from position 2 on harness connector or cut 2” from connector.
3. Remove red wire from position 3 harness connector or cut 2” from connector.
4. Insert brown wire into position 3 on harness connector or splice brown harness wire to red wire going to connector. See the drawing on the last page.
5. Black harness wire to LED Black wire for ground.
ii. Left Side
1. Blue harness wire to LED Yellow wire for running light.
2. Remove violet wire from position 2 on harness connector or cut 2” from connector.
3. Remove red wire from position 3 harness connector or cut 2” from connector.
4. Insert violet wire into position 3 on harness connector or splice violet harness wire to red wire going to connector. See the drawing on the last page.
5. Black harness wire to LED Black wire for ground.
c. Extended Harness (left side)
i. When using a Kodlin license plate kit run the extended harness down and along facia light harness and secure in place on the facia light. This connector will be used to power your Kodlin license plate kits. See picture 6.
ii. If not using a Kodlin license plate kit use zip ties or tape to secure extended harness in a place out of the way.
iii. Pin 1- Accessory Power, yellow wire
iv. Pin 2 – Right Turn, brown wire
v. Pin 3 – Running Light, blue wire – power for license frame
vi. Pin 4 – Stop light, red wire
vii. Pin 5 – Left Turn, violet wire
viii. Pin 6 – Ground, black wire, – ground for license frame
ix. Wiring example will be provided with license frame kit. -
Connect battery ground wire and test for proper function.
Right Sleek Connector C1
Cut brown and red wires. From connector side connect red wire. to brown
harmess wire or remove wire at pin 2 and move to pin 3 location, leave red
wire out and taped off.
Left Sleek Connector C2
Cut violet and red wires. From connector side connect red wire to violet
harness wire or remove wire at pin 2 and move to pin 3 location, leave red
wire out and taped off.
BCM stock configuration (turn signals only)
All red led functions for run-brake-turn (no amber)
NOTE: No warranty coverage is provided by Kodlin that is due to improper
installation or lack of maintenance.
Periodic maintenance and inspection are required. It is the installer’s
responsibility to ensure that all the fasteners are tightened before operation
of the motorcycle.
