Installation Instructions
K66027: Kodlin Lowering Kit for Harley-Davidson® Sportster S models.
K66028: Kodlin Lift Kit for Harley-Davidson® Sportster S models.
Removal of the stock damping rods (pictured is Kodlin K66027):
- Securely raise the motorcycle at the rear section of the frame and jack it up enough that the rear wheel is slightly off the ground.
- To disconnect brake cable support remove M6 Allen Screw (pic 1)
- Remove two M12 Hex Bolts and stock damping rod (pic 2)
- Repeat removal of damping rod for other side
Installation of the Kodlin Lowering or Lift Kit rod:
NOTE: All stock bolts must be installed with medium strength thread locker such as blue Loctite®
- Install Kodlin Lowering-Kit / Lift-Kit with two M12 Hex Bolts 62 ft/lbs. (85 Nm)
- Repeat for other side.
- Re-connect brake line and tighten M6 Allen Screw
- Check that all hardware is securely tightened prior to going on a test ride.
NOTE: No warranty coverage is provided by Kodlin that is due to improper installation or lack of maintenance. Periodic maintenance and inspection are required. It is the installer’s responsibility to ensure that all the fasteners are tightened before operation of the motorcycle. We recommend following the Mfg.’s torque specs. Check belt tension for proper tension.
