EN Instructions for Basin Mixer

EDITION: 2024-05-29

Before installation

Turn off the water. Flush piping carefully before installation. Check that the components of the mixer are fitted securely. Do not try to dismantle the components yourself. Check that the pre-assembled connecting hoses are tightened securely.

Contact your retailer if you have any questions. Installation must be carried out by a competent per-son. If in doubt please contact a qualified plumber.

All our products are tested and approved to EN standards: kitchen and basin mixers to EN 817, dual control mixers to EN 200 and thermostatic mixers to EN 1111. Tested and approved by SINTEF in accordance with relevant standards. Recommended working pressure 50-1,000 kPa (0.5–10 bar). Test pressure 1,600 kPa (16 bar). Water temperature min. 0 °C and max. 90 °C. Our mixers are made from grade 304 stainless steel, a material that can be fully recycled.

Installation

Models with hoses that are already fitted to the mixer.
Fit the components in place in the sequence shown in the drawings (1–6). Note! Make sure the hole for the mixer has a diameter of 35 mm. Then connect the hoses to the hot and cold water supplies. Make sure that the hoses are connected to the correct water supply (blue hose to cold water and red hose to hot water). Check that the connecting hoses are tightened securely. When the mixer is fitted, check that all connections are secure. The mixer is connected without support rings in the flexible hoses. After tightening: Counteract stress corrosion and check that the cone is tightened by loosening the compression nipple/nut and tightening it again lightly. Carry out a pressure test and check, tighten if necessary. Damage caused by stress corrosion occurring as a result of the nature of the water or surrounding environment, as well as incorrect installation, shall not be covered by product liability.

Models with separate hoses:
Fit the components in place in the sequence shown in the drawings (1–7). Note! Mount the blue and red marked hose with the same colors on the mixer body. The hoses are O-ring sealed and no other seal is needed. The hoses are threaded to the right and do not need to be lubricated. They must be installed by hand. Do not use tools. Note! Make sure the hole for the mixer has a diameter of 35 mm. Then connect the other ends of the hoses to the hot and cold water supplies. Make sure that the hoses are connected to the correct water supply (blue hose to cold water and red hose to hot water). Check that the connecting hoses are tightened securely. When the mixer is fitted, check that all connec-tions are secure. The mixer is connected without support rings in the flexible hoses. After tightening: Counteract stress corrosion and check that the cone is tightened by loosening the compression nipple/nut and tightening it again lightly. Carry out a pressure test and check, tighten if necessary. Damage caused by stress corrosion occur-ring as a result of the nature of the water or surrounding environment, as well as incorrect installation, shall not be covered by product liability.

A: Components
1. Aerator tool
2. Spout
3. Mixer body
4. O-ring (small)
5. Base ring
6. O-ring (large) (x2)
7. Large gasket (x2)
8. Washer (x4)
9. Threaded coupler (x2)
10. Weight (only Harmonized B2P)
11. Small gasket (B2 x2, B2P x1)
12. Hexagonal key
13. Tool
14. Hoses
15. Ninety degree connector coupling.

B: Hole diameter:
NOTE! For the pull-out model (Harmonized B2P) the hose between the mixer body and spout must be able to move freely. Ensure that no objects below the countertop block the space between the mixer body and the spout. NOTE! For the model without the pull-out function
(Harmonized B2), at least 90 mm of free space below the top of the countertop is required. Check, for example, that the vanity unit drawers do not collide when positioning the pipes underneath.

C: Before installation:
The two lowest screws on the spout (#2) control the rotation (see illustration C). The spout can be locked
to 110° by tightening the middle screw while the spout nozzle points in the opposite direction from the screws. By tightening the bottom screw while the spout nozzle points in the opposite direction from the screws, the spout can be locked at 0°. By loosening or removing the two bottom screws, the rotation can be unlocked to 360°. Use a 2 mm hexagonal key. NOTE! The top screw must always be tightened because it holds the spout in place.

Installation:

  1. Place an o-ring (#6) below the base ring of the spout.

  2. Thread the hose and threaded tube of the spout through the hole in the countertop.

  3. Thread the large gasket (#7) and washer (#8) over the threaded tube of the spout in the order shown in illustration 3. Then screw on the threaded coupler (#9). Screw on by hand or using a spanner. Then tighten the screws evenly in the threaded coupler with a screwdriver. Ensure that the spout is angled straight if the spout has been limited and that it is properly fastened in the countertop.

  4. Thread the small o-ring (#4), base ring (#5) and large  o- ring (#6) onto the mixer body in the order shown in illustration 4.

  5. For Harmonized B2: Place a gasket (#11) in the connection tube of the mixer body and then screw in place the ninety degree connector coupling (#15) according to illustration 5. Then attach the hoses for hot and cold water according to illustration 5.

  6. Thread the mixer body’s hoses and threaded tube through the hole in the countertop.

  7. Thread a large gasket (#7) and washer (#8) in the order shown in illustration 7. Then screw on a threaded coupler (#9). Screw on by hand or using
a spanner. Then tighten the screws evenly in the threaded coupler with a screwdriver. Ensure that the handle is at the desired angle, and that the mixer body is properly fastened in the countertop.

  8. Place a gasket (#11) in the connection tube of the mixer body for Harmonized B2P, or the ninety degree connector coupling for Harmonized B2. Then screw in place the spout hose according to illustration 8a for Harmonized B2P or 8b for Harmonized B2. Use the tool provided (#13).

NOTE! For B2: Leave some slack if the hose is being led anticlockwise (seen from below). Otherwise, there is a risk of the hose unscrewing itself.

For Harmonized B2P: Attach the weight (#10) over the pull-out hose by the marking according to illustration 8a. Connect the flexible hoses from the mixer body to the hot and cold water supplies. Make sure that the hoses are connected to the correct water supply (blue hose  to cold water and red hose to hot water). Check that  the connecting hoses are tightened securely. Test the mixer connections for leaks after installation. If the mixer is connected to Soft PEX piping, the piping must be clipped securely as close to the coupling as possible, see illustration 9. Once the mixer is installed, check that all  couplings are tight.

Troubleshooting

Uneven or weak flow:
Unscrew the nozzle from the spout and remove the small plastic insert (does not apply to STREAM). Soak it in a solution of 1 part vinegar and 3 parts hot water for at least an hour. See drawing that matches your model.

In case of frost:
Turn off the water and drain the mixer completely  of water. Otherwise there is a risk of damage to the cartridge.

Dripping tap:
The cartridge must be replaced, see the diagram on the next page that matches your model.
