SETTING UP YOUR LIGHT BAR
NOTE: Ensure you review and comply with local laws regarding driving light mounting positions and directions
- Using the supplied Allen keys, tighten the bolts connecting the light to the mounting bracket.
- Find a suitable place to mount your light bar. Ensure the mounting location is sufficiently strong enough to support the light bar. If mounting on a bull bar, ensure the light bar is not restricting airflow to your vehicle’s radiator and engine bay.
- a. If drilling is required, mark the hole centers using the brackets as guides.
- b. Drill holes and ensure holes are deburred and coated to protect from corrosion.
- Insert the mounting bolts into the light bar bracket.
- Fit the light bar to the mounting surface, and then place the plain washer followed by the spring washer onto the end of the bolt. Tighten with a spanner or socket until the spring washer is completely compressed.
CONNECTING THE LIGHT BAR
GENERAL NOTES:
- When performing any auto electrical work, always disconnect the negative terminal from your battery.
- Lay out your wiring harness prior to installation to ensure all components are present and to establish where the harness can be installed in the engine bay.
- Locate a suitable position for the switch to be installed inside the cabin.
- a. The switch should be installed within reach of the driver.
- Feed the section of the harness that connects to the switch through the firewall from the engine and connect it to the switch.
- a. Ensure the harness is protected where it passes through the firewall to ensure it does not rub on metal edges.
- Find a suitable location to mount the relay that allows the harness to reach the switch, light bar, and battery as required.
- a. Securely mount the relay and ensure it has no movement and ensure it is not going to interfere with any components within the engine bay.
- Route the section of the harness that connects to the light bar through the engine bay to where the light bar is mounted and connect it to the light bar.
- a. Ensure the harness is routed away from high temperature and rotating components such as exhaust components, fans, belts and pulleys.
- Route the positive and negative terminals of the harness to the battery. Connect the harness positive terminal to the battery, then connect the harness negative terminal and the vehicle’s negative lead to the battery.
- Test the operation of the light bar by turning it on and off using the switch.
- a. Ensure the light bar is angled correctly to project the light in the desired direction.
