For your safety

WARNING!
Before using the power tool, please read and follow:
This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved. Children shall not play with the appliance. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children without Supervision.
these operating instructions, the currently valid site rules and the regulations for the prevention of accidents.
This power tool is state of the art and has been constructed in accordance with the acknowledged safety regulations.
Nevertheless, when in use, the power tool may be a danger to life and limb of the user or a third party, or the power tool or other property may be damaged.
The pruning shear may be used only  as intended, in perfect working order.
Faults which impair safety must be repaired immediately.

Intended use
This pruning shear is intended

  • for commercial use in industry and trade,
  • for cutting and pruning small limbs and branches.

Safety instructions for pruning shear

WARNING!
Read all safety warnings, instructions, illustrations and specifications provided with this power tool. Failure to follow all instructions listed below may result in electric shock, fire and/or serious injury. Save all warnings and instructions for future reference.

  • Do not use the pruning shear in bad weather conditions, especially when there is a risk of lightning. This decreases the risk of being struck by lightning.

  • Keep all power cords and cables away from cutting area. Power cords or cables may be hidden and can be accidentally cut by the blade.

  • Hold the pruning shear by insulated gripping surfaces only, because the blade may contact hidden wiring. Blades contacting a “live” wire may make exposed metal parts of the pruning shear “live” and could give the operator an electric shock.

  • Keep all parts of the body away from the blade. Do not remove cut material or hold material to be cut when blades are moving. Blades continue to move after the switch is turned off. A moment of inattention while operating the pruning shear may result in serious personal injury.

  • When clearing jammed material or servicing the pruning shear, make sure the power switch is off and the battery pack is removed or disconnected.
Unexpected actuation of the pruning shear while clearing jammed material or servicing may result in serious personal injury.

  • Carry the pruning shear by the handle with the blade stopped and taking care not to operate the power switch. Proper carrying of the pruning shear will decrease the risk of inadvertent starting and resultant personal injury from the blades.

Noise and vibration

The noise and vibration values have been determined in accordance with EN 62841.
The A evaluated noise level of the power tool is typically:

– Sound pressure level LpA: 60 dB(A)
– Sound power level LWA: 68 dB(A)
– Uncertainty: K = 3 dB
Total vibration value:
– Emission value ah: <2.5 m/s2
– Uncertainty: K = 1.5 m/s2

CAUTION!
The indicated measurements refer to new power tools. Daily use causes the noise and vibration values to change.

NOTE
The vibration emission level given in this information sheet has been measured in accordance with a measurement method standardised in EN 62841 and may be used to compare one tool with another.
That the declared vibration total value(s) and the declared noise emission value(s) may also be used in a preliminary assessment of exposure.
However, if the tool is used for different applications, with different cutting accessories or poorly maintained, the vibration emission level may differ.
This may significantly increase the exposure level over the total working period.
To make an accurate estimation of the vibration exposure level, it is also necessary to take into account the times when the tool is switched off or running but not actually in use.
This may significantly decrease the exposure level over the total working period.
Identify additional safety measures to protect the operator from the effects of vibration such as: maintain the tool and the cutting accessories, keep the hands warm, organisation of work patterns.

WARNING!

  • that the vibration and noise emissions during actual use of the power tool can differ from the declared values depending on the ways in which the tool is used especially what kind of workpiece is processed; and
  • of the need to identify safety measures to protect the operator that are based on an estimation of exposure in the actual conditions of use(taking account of all parts of the operating cycle such as the times when the tool is switched off and when it is running idle in addition to the trigger time).

CAUTION!
Wear ear protection at a sound pressure above 85 dB(A).

Operating instructions

WARNING!
Remove the battery before carrying out any work on the power tool.
Keep hands away from the blades. Contact with blade will result in serious personal injury.

NOTE
The pruning shears have a supporting warning device. An audible warning signal may sound as soon as the cutting edges and the switch have skin contact with a person at the same time. The cutting edges will automatically stop and open. This warning device supports the safe handling of the pruning shears, but cannot guarantee safety.
Wearing gloves will prevent this feature. Dry skin can prevent this function.

Before switching on the power tool
Unpack the power tool and check that there are no missing or damaged parts.
NOTE
The batteries are not fully charged on delivery. Prior to initial operation, charge the batteries fully. Refer to the charger operating manual.
Inserting/replacing the battery

  • Press the charged battery into the power tool until it clicks into place (see figure B).
  • To remove, press the release button and pull out the battery (see figure C).

CAUTION!
When the device is not in use, protect the battery contacts. Loose metal parts may short circuit the contacts; explosion and fire hazard!

Switching on and off (see figure D)

  • Press and hold the power button on the base of the tool to turn on the power. The blades will open.
  • Pull the trigger button to close the blades.
Press and hold the power switch on the base of the tool to cut off the power.

NOTE
Before you start working, pull the trigger several times to check whether its no-load operation is normal.
NOTE
If you do not operate the trigger for approximately 3 minute, the tool will automatically power off and beep at the time of powering off.

Adjusting the blade tension (see figure E)
After a certain number of hours of operation the blade tension (the gap between the blades) may deteriorate. Proper blade tension is important for the pruning shear to make accurate cuts.

a. Power off the tool and detach the battery pack.
b. Loosen the locking screw with the provided hex key.
c. Rotate the tension-adjusting nut with the provided socket wrench to achieve the perfect tension.
d. Use the provided hex key to tighten the locking screw.

NOTE
When the blades are closed, they should not swing sideways. Lateral swings can damage the interior mechanical structure of the tool.

Lubricating the pruning shear (see figure F)
The blades need to be lubricated with liquid lubricant before use or after working when the blades are dry.
a. Power off the tool and detach the battery pack.
b. With the blades open, add lubricating oil into the lubricating hole on the back of the pruning shear.
c. Perform a no-load cut to help uniformly distribute the oil.

Maintenance and care

WARNING!
Remove the battery before carrying out any work on the power tool.

Cleaning

  • Clean the power tool and vent slots regularly. Frequency of cleaning is dependent on the material and duration ofuse.
  • Regularly blow out the housing interior and motor with dry compressed air.
