Product Usage Instructions
Install Windows OS on Your Notebook:
- Make sure your notebook is plugged into an AC adapter.
- Insert your Windows installation media (e.g., USB flash drive, external hard drive, DVD).
- Turn on the notebook and repeatedly press the F11 key to enter the Boot Menu.
- Select your boot device.
- Follow on-screen instructions to set language and preferences.
- Click on “Install now”.
- Enter your product key or select “I don’t have a product key”.
- Select the operating system you want to install.
- Agree to the Microsoft Software License Terms.
- Select “Custom: Install Windows only (advanced)”.
- Delete specific partitions as instructed.
- Select unallocated space to install Windows.
How to Load IRST Driver during Windows Installation:
- Download the Intel Rapid Storage Technology F6 Driver from the product support.
- Follow specific instructions to load the IRST driver during Windows installation.
Use One Touch Install for Driver Installation:
- Go to “This PC” and select “DriverCD”.
- Select “CDSetup”.
- Open “ONE TOUCH INSTALL”.
- Click “OK” to install all drivers.
- Ensure Bluetooth and Wireless devices are turned on.
- Follow on-screen instructions to install security software and complete driver installation.

- It is recommended that you could use “One Touch Install” to install all system drivers at one time on your notebook with the FreeDOS platform.
- The notebook, without a pre-installed Windows system, has been installed a driver package, and please do NOT use any third-party applications, such as 3DP Chip, Net, Bench, etc., to detect or install new drivers to your notebook.
- Before using One Touch Install, please install your Windows operating system first.
- Follow the instructions below to install the Windows operating system and use One Touch
Install.
When the VMD Controller option in the BIOS menu is enabled, it’s required to
load the Intel Rapid Storage Technology (IRST) driver to make the disks or
RAID arrays to be recognized during Windows installation. Please refer to How
to Load IRST Driver during Windows Installation for details.
Install Windows OS on Your Notebook
Make sure your notebook is plugged in an AC adapter and inserted your Windows
installation media.
The figures shown here are for reference only, and they may be varied from
different Windows installation media, such as a USB flash drive, external hard
drive, DVD, etc.

Turn on the notebook, and then press F11 keycap repeatedly to enter the Boot Menu and select your boot device.

Enter your language and other preferences. Click [Next] to continue.

Click [Install now].

Enter your product key or select [I don’t have a product key]. Click [Next].

Select the operating system you want to install. Click [Next].

Check the Microsoft Software License Terms and click the CheckBox. Click [Next].

Select [Custom: Install Windows only (advanced)].

Delete [Drive 1 Partition 1: EFI] and [Drive 1 Partition 2].

Please do not format, delete, or modify the [Drive 1 Partition 1: DriveCD] to avoid erasing a pre-installed driver package.

Select [Drive 1 Unallocated Space] to install the Windows operating system.
Click [Next]. -
The Windows operating system is being installed. After the installation is finished, you can go to the next step to use “One Touch Install” for driver installation.
How to Load IRST Driver during Windows Installation
This guide shows how to the load Intel Rapid Storage Technology (IRST) driver
during Windows installation.
When the VMD Controller option in the BIOS menu is enabled, it’s required to
load the IRST driver to make the disks or RAID arrays to be recognized during
Windows installation.
- Download the Intel Rapid Storage Technology F6 Driver from the product support page on the MSI website, extract the driver package, then save the folder to a USB storage device.
- Click [Load driver] as the installer asks to choose the destination disk drive during Windows setup.
- Insert the USB storage device prepared in advance, and click [Browse] as the Load driver dialog shows up.
- Select the folder [f6vmdflpy-x64] under [VMD] folder, and click [OK]. For Intel 10th Gen or older CPU notebook, select the folder [f6flpy-x64] under the root directory, and click [OK].
- Select [RST VMD Controller] from the list, and click [Next] to install the driver. For Intel 10th Gen or older CPU notebook, select [Intel Chipset SATA/PCIe RST Premium Controller], or [Intel Chipset SATA RAID Controller], and click [Next] to install the driver.
- Once the driver installation is completed, the required disk drive(s) will be available for the system installation.
Use “One Touch Install” for Driver Installation
Please follow the instructions below to install all system drivers.
During the installation process, the system may reboot automatically several
times. Please don’t interrupt the installation process.
- Go to [This PC] and select [DriverCD].
- Select [CDSetup].
- You can start to use “One Touch Install”, and please open up [ONE TOUCH INSTALL].
- Click [OK] to install all drivers.
- Please make sure to turn on your Bluetooth and Wireless devices. Click [OK].
- Click the CheckBox and [Next] to install the security software and continue the driver installation. This figure shown here is for reference only. The pre-installed security software may be varied from different countries and models.
- The all system drivers are being installed. After the installation is finished, you can start to enjoy your new system.
