028-01 Reduce DC Charging Current

Specifications:

  • Max DC Charging Current: 30A
  • Solar Input Voltage: Up to 50V DC
  • Maximum Fuse Rating: 60A
  • Cable Sizes: 10 mm2, 4 mm2, 1 mm2
  • Terminal Sizes: 8 mm, 4 mm

Product Usage Instructions:

Connecting LPS II to VW ID.Buzz:

  1. Use a 10 mm2 cable to connect LPS II DC IN to the ID.Buzz’s 12V
battery. Use an 8 mm ring terminal to connect to the LPS II DC IN
terminals. Ensure the cable length does not exceed 5 meters.

  2. Place a Mega Fuse in line with the LPS II and battery, ensuring
it has a maximum rating of 60A.

Connecting Solar Panels:

  1. Connect solar panels to C2 using a 4 mm2 cable and a 4 mm ring
terminal to connect to the LPS II solar terminal (C2).

Configuring LPS II:

  1. Connect Wakeup (C1) to the DC IN+ terminal using a 1 mm2 wire
    and 4 mm ring terminals.

  2. Connect the LPS remote to the M12 connector labeled “Remote” on
the back of the LPS II.

  3. To reduce the DC charging current, configure the LPS II to
    charge at 30A.

FAQ:

Q: What is the maximum fuse rating for the LPS II?

A: The maximum fuse rating for the LPS II is 60A.

Q: How long can the cable between LPS II DC IN and the

ID.Buzz’s battery be?

A: The cable length between LPS II DC IN and the ID.Buzz’s
battery must not exceed 5 meters.

This installation diagram shows how to connect an LPS II to a VW ID using both solar panels and an LPS remote, as well as how to configure the LPS II.

Instructions

1. Use a 10 mm2 cable to connect LPS II DC IN to the ID.Buzz’s 12V battery. Use an 8 mm ring terminal to
connect to the LPS II DC IN terminals. See the necessary torque in the table below. Place a Mega Fuse in line with the LPS II and battery. The fuse must have a maximum rating of 60A.

2. To connect solar panels to C2, use a 4 mm2 cable. Use a 4 mm ring terminal to connect to the LPS II solar terminal (C2).

3. In order to connect Wakeup (C1) to the DC IN+ terminal, use a 1 mm2 wire and 4 mm ring terminals.

4. Connect the LPS remote to the M12 connector on the back of the LPS labbeled with “Remote”

5. Reduce the DC charging current by configuring the LPS II to charge at 30A.
