SolarEdge Product Waiver Approval
Issue date: July 17, 2024
Dear installer,
Upon examining your waiver request, SolarEdge decided to approve it under the
following conditions:
- This approval is limited to installations done in Europe only.
- The approved designs are as follows:
- The connection of S500B Power Optimizers with PV modules up to 550W, Voc up to 125V, Impp up to 15A and Isc up to 16.5A.
- The connection of S650B Power Optimizers with PV modules up to 650W, Voc up to 85V, Impp up to 15A and Isc up to 16.5A.
- The minimum DC/AC oversizing ratio per inverter shall be at least 120% :
- For datasheet-based designs, it is according to STC values (disregarding bi-facial gains).
- For SolarEdge Designer based designs, it is according to the max achieved DC power.
- The rest of the installation guidelines and the Power Optimizer’s performance remain as stated in the SolarEdge specifications and installation documents.
SolarEdge approves that the designs mentioned above, though exceeding the
Power Optimizers maximum short circuit current (Isc) of connected PV module
(16.5A vs. 15A) and the rated DC input power (550W vs. 500W), will not void
the Power Optimizer or Inverter warranty.
The sites must be connected to the SolarEdge monitoring.
