Symbols

Warning of general danger
Read the operating manual and safety warnings.
CE marking: Confirms the conformity of the device with EU guidelines.
UKCA marking: Confirms the conformity of the product with UK regulations.
Do not dispose of the device with the domestic waste.

Safety warnings

WARNING: Read all safety warnings, instructions, illustrations and specifications provided with this de vice. Failure to observe the instructions and safety warnings may lead to electric shocks, fires and/or serious injuries, e.g. hearing damage. If there are distortions or outages, please contact the Festool customer service team (see section 7). The battery must not be replaced. Save all warnings and instructions for future reference.

  • Do not use the charging case in the rain or in a damp environment. Moisture in the device may cause a short circuit and fire.
  • Do not insert any nails, wire or similar into the USB port. This could cause the tool to short-circuit, smoke or catch fire.
  • Only charge the device using chargers with a voltage of max. 5 V. Using higher voltages would be a fire risk.
  • Audibility of warning signals. Ensure that warning signals can continue to be heard at the workplace and in other environments when using the audio function.
  • Keep the device away from children. Small parts that could be swallowed are included.
  • Silicon earpieces are not suitable for noise reduction. Only use silicon earpieces for audio functions.
  • Ensure that the earpieces used are the right size. Using earpieces that are not correctly seated may damage your hearing. Earpieces that are too small do not provide full hearing protection.
  • Earpieces that are too large can remain stuck in the ear canal when you try to remove them.
  • The hearing protection must be worn continuously in noisy environments.
  • Sudden or fast removal of the hearing protector can cause damage to the eardrum.
  • The hearing protection is equipped with level-dependent attenuation and a safety-relevant audio input. Check correct operation before use.
  • The typical period of continuous use that can be expected when fully charged is 13 hours. Battery life performance may deteriorate beyond this time and with normal usage.
  • The output of the audio circuit of the hearing protector may exceed the exposure limit level.
  • The hearing protection has an audio entertainment function. The hearing protection has a sound pressure limiting feature for the audio signal which effectively limits the audio signal for entertainment media to under 82 dB(A) (GHS 25 I) / 85 dB(A) (GHS 25 I US) for your ear. This limit is maintained for Bluetooth® signal inputs which are standard to the Bluetooth® A2DP specifications.

Intended use

  • The hearing protection is used to reduce ambient noise by or to screen ambient noise >79 dB (GHS 25 I) / >85 dB (GHS 25 I US).
  • The device enables telephone calls to be made and audio signals to be transmitted.
  • The device must NOT be used in environments in which the user needs to be fully aware of their surroundings, e.g. when driving a car.

The device must NOT be used in potentially explosive environments.

warning: The user is liable for improper or non-intended use.

Approval for noise attenuation. The device has been tested in accordance with the
EN 352-2:2020 (SNR) and ANSI S3.19-1974 (NRR) standards for hearing protection. The sound attenuation value is based on continuous noise and is therefore not an accurate value for the reduction of impulse sound.

Federal Communications Commission (FCC) Interference Statement
NOTE: This equipment has been tested and found to comply with the limits for a Class B digital device, pursuant to part 15 of the FCC Rules. These limits are designed to provide reasonable protection against harmful interference in a residential installation. This equipment generates, uses and can radiate radio frequency energy and, if not installed and used in accordance with the instructions, may cause harmful interference to radio communications. However, there is no guarantee that interference will not occur in a particular installation. If this equipment does cause harmful interference to radio or television reception, which can be determined by turning the equipment off and on, the user is encouraged to try to correct the interference by one or more of the following measures:

  • Reorient or relocate the receiving antenna.
  • Increase the separation between the equipment and receiver.
  • Connect the equipment into an outlet on a circuit different from that to which the receiver is connected.
  • Consult the dealer or an experienced radio/TV technician for help.

NOTE: Any changes or modifications not expressly approved by the party responsible for compliance could void the user’s authority to operate the equipment.
FCC ID: 2AL2E-GHS25

RSS Compliance Statement: This device contains licence-exempt transmitter(s)/receiver(s) that comply with Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada’s licence-exempt RSS(s). Operation is subject to the following two conditions:

  1. This device may not cause interference.
  2. This device must accept any interference, including interference that may cause undesired operation of the device.

Canada: Radio frequency (RF) Exposure Information
The radiated output power of the Wireless Device is below the Innovation, Science and Economic Development (ISED) radio frequency exposure limits. The Wireless Device should be used in such a manner such that the potential for human contact during normal operation is minimized.

USA: ANSI S3.19-1974
The level of noise entering a person’s ear, when hearing protector is worn as directed, is closely approximated by the difference between the A-weighted environmental noise level and the NRR.

  1. The environmental noise level as measured at the ear is 92 dBA.
  2. The NRR is 25 decibels (dB).
  3. The level of noise entering the ear is approximately equal to 67 dB(A).

CAUTION: For noise environments dominated by frequencies below 500 Hz the C-weighted environmental noise level should be used.
Although hearing protectors can be recommended for protection against the harmful effects of impulsive noise, the Noise Reduction Rating (NRR) is based on the attenuation of continuous noise and may not be an accurate indicator of the protection attainable against impulsive noise such as gunfire.

Improper: fit of this device will reduce its effectiveness in attenuating noise. Consult the enclosed instructions for proper fit.ANSI S3.19-1974 testing was performed by Michael & Associates, Inc.
