AUDI DEALER COMMUNICATION
Advance Notice – Safety Recall 46P6 / Brake Booster
This notice is for:
All Dealer Personnel
Date:
August 21, 2024
Issue:
It is possible that the bolt connection from the input rod on the brake pedal to the actuator rod on the brake booster was not performed according to manufacturing specifications. Because of this, the screw connection may disconnect. In such a case, the mechanical coupling of the brake pedal and brake booster may no longer be guaranteed. If a complete separation would occur, vehicle braking would only be possible using the emergency braking function, increasing the risk of a crash.
Precautions
After applying and releasing the brake pedal, the customer may notice an unusual noise, or the brake pedal does not return to its original position. In the event of a complete loosening of the screw fitting and the separation of the connection, braking is only possible by using the emergency braking function. Customers are reminded to consult the owner’s manual for information regarding the emergency braking function
