Product Usage Instructions

Pre-treatment:
Ensure the surface is clean and dust-free before applying FINISHX ULTIMATE SPEED CLEAR COAT 4:1 Spot/Panel Clearcoat. Refer to the Technical Data Sheet (TDS) of the basecoat for substrate preparation.

Mixing Ratio:
Combine the following volumes for mixing:

• FC-1100 Clear: 100 parts
• FC1010 Fast Activator or FC1020 Standard Activator: 25 parts
• FC1030 Slow Activator: 25 parts

FINISHX ULTIMATE SPEED CLEAR COAT 4:1 Spot/Panel Clearcoat for application ranging from spot repair, panel repair.

Technical Characteristics

• Shelf life: 24 months at 77°F
• Theoretical spreading rate: 250-300 m2/l (avg) at 1 μm

Pre-treatment

FINISHX ULTIMATE SPEED CLEAR COAT 4:1 Spot/Panel Clearcoat is suitable to be applied on top of a clean and dust-free FINISHX basecoat. See TDS of basecoat for other preparation of substrate.

• Mixing Ratio
  Mix well and strain before application.
  Note:

  • FC1010 is for temperature below 65°F
  • FC1020 is for temperature between 70°F-90°F
  • FC1030 is for temperatures above 85°F

• Spray Viscosity Potlife

  • 16 to 18 seconds DIN 4 cup at 77°F
  • 1-2 hours at 77°F

• Sprayguns

  • HVLP gravity-feed spraygun
  • 1.2 – 1.3mm
  • 1.5 – 2.0 bar
  • 10 –15 cm
  • Compliant gravity-feed spraygun
  • 1.3 – 1.6mm
  • 3.0 – 4.0 bar
  • 15 – 20 cm

• Application

  • Number of spraycoats: 1 thin + 1 wet coat
  • Flah- off: 2 – 5 mins
  • Film thickness: 40 – 60 μm

• Drying

• IR Drying

  • IR drying after dust free
  • Step 1 – short wave: 5 mins at a 80 cm distance
  • Step 2 – medium wave: 20 mins at a 80 cm distance

• Further Treatment
  Polish after specified drying times and cooling

• PHYSICAL DATA

  • Actual VOC (RTS): 4.2lbs/gal
  • Regulatory VOC (RTS): 4.2lbs/gal (less water and exempt solvents)
